Had a great experience at Simbavati Hilltop Lodge. We drove ourselves from Hoedspruit airport and though the last 6km on the gravel road are a bit hairy, it's a nice drive with a chance to spot animals. We were warmly welcomed by Lelani and shown around the Lodge. The rooms are lovely - they consist of 2 luxury tents (one...

The location of the lodge is well situated with great views overlooking the river bed. Architecture is really superb. A real modern lodge! The luxury tents are sufficiently sized with a great outdoor shower and luxury indoor bath with a view. The private game viewing deck, infinity pool and communal areas are also wonderful. The room finishes are of a...

Lovely camp setting. Large and very private 5 star suite. All lodge staff very friendly and helpful and excellent lodge managers. Spa treatment in room very pleasant experience. Fantastic game drive experience, twice exceptional leopard sightings. Sensitive field guides and trackers who respect animals more than at other lodges in Kruger, even when off road. Food was good. Private surprise...

A good start for this new establishment but things can improve. The wildlife in the Timbavati is definitely not abundant and in the 4 four days we were there we did not see a single lion. Leopard sightings, however were ample so kind of made of for it. Steff was a great ranger with good knowledge of the bush and...

Dear Karel Thank you for the review, all feedback is appreciated. It is unfortunate that the wildlife did not play their part during your stay. We are however grateful that the leopards helped make up for it :) We will pass your compliments onto Steff. Keep well and please do come back and visit again. Kind regards Nadine

Overall I consider this a good stay, but will not go back there in the future. The Luxury tents are the best part of the stay, big, comfortable, clean and well positioned towards the river (definitely 4 star tents). Food was decent, but I think they need to step up if they want to propose themselves on the mid/high end...

I can't imagine a nicer place to stay. Beautiful and private bungalows with outside rain showers and nice bathrooms/big tubs. Comfortable beds with heating blankets. Air condition/heat in wall. Plenty of plugs for electrical. Only 8 units, so 16 people max! quiet and secluded. Animals right off the back decks for most rooms. Great pool/bar. Staff is very smart and...
