We stayed there 2 nights as part of an organised tour.It is a small lodge, with huge cottages. Views are amazing: during our first lunch, a herd of elephants came close to the dining area and drunk from the swimming pool. Food service is absolutely delicious and of excellent quality. We had four game drives included in the package: the ranger was very informative and we were very lucky to see all the big five and so many more animals. On day 2 we were offered a complimentary walking safari around the lodge: it was very enjoyable, we saw animal tracks and we got close to impalas. The lodge manager was extremely efficient and a very nice person, too.

Oh my word! What an initiation to the experience of what the bush in Africa has to offer. From the moment we arrived to waving goodbye, our every wish was 'their command'. The rooms were impeccable, luxurious and more than surpassed my expectations. Suffice to say that I gained more than a couple of pounds over the weekend...The food was sublime, freshly prepared, beautifully presented and even got the thumbs up from my chef husband! Wi-fi in the middle of the bush! Yes and better signal than I have at home! The service at the lodge was of the best that I have ever experienced - and I am fussy! From our welcome to the incredibly knowledgeable game rangers, to housekeeping staff, to the GM's level of listening and attentiveness... All spectacular. Many thanks to all for making this an incredible experience!

I decided to treat my wife to a weekend away in the bush. My wife is not a bush lady and we always joke saying that the only stars she would sleep under would be 5*. Well this weekend she was converted. From the time we arrived the welcome was fantastic and the service unbelievable.I am a chef and have traveled, stayed and eaten in most of the best establishment around the world I can tell you that Royal Legend can hold its head high above all other establishment. The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. The free high speed internet is incredible throughout the resort. The meals are freshly prepared and comparable to the best in the world. Then to top all this the game drives are conducted by real professionals that can't do enough for you and ensure that you have sighting of the best that Africa has to offer and position the vehicle so that you can take home souvenirs without te sun shining on the lenses. I am scare to recommend Royal Legend because I need to make sure that when I decide to go back it is not fully booked up. But it deserves all the praise. Thank a lot to all.

we spent three faboulous days in this lodge during our South africa trip. It has been fantastic, we loved the accomodation (yes it is the biggest bed we have ever seen), and also we like the great hospitality of the staff. During the Safari we met a lot of animals, and the rangers was very nice and ready to explain everything about animals and bush. We suggest it to all people, if you want to stay some days in Paradise

Delayed in writing this, but eleven of us stayed for 3 nights, arriving 25th July. We were a family group of 3 generations including 5 grandchildren from 11 yrs to 18yrs. My husband & I had experienced Safari Lodges before so we were keen to see how The Royal Legend compared. The rooms are most satisfactory & there were no complaints about food at all. We felt we were well looked after with attentive staff & we had good game drives seeing the Big Five all in one day.The manager Pollen was extremely helpful when one of the hired cars had to be changed. Areas of the Lodge looked a little tired & the swimming pool was not inviting & for this reason, I would say it did not rate 5 star but compared OK with 4 star. None of us tried the Spa facilities. We dined in the Boma on our last night & the staff really did a good job at entertaining us

A very good value 4-5 star intimate camp. Only 10 luxury chalets with inside/outside showers and baths. Good food, great staff and rangers and trackers. Lots of dams/waterholes in the area, which makes for exceptional game viewing. The camp is not fenced, so don't be surprised to run into animals on your way to the lounge or dining area!

We did not know what to expect on a safari and we were greatly pleased with our experience at the Royal Legend. Our room was simple and elegant. The staff very attentive, the food was excellent. Infact the staff was feeding us wonderful food all the time. Our safari driver and tracker were outstanding and very knowledgeable about all the animals and their habits. Another lovely service was having our laundry beautifully done. The entire staff from the manager Pollen on down provided excellent service. We are happy to recommend the Royal Legend to everyone

My husband and I thought we would take a weekend at this game reserve but were quite let down by the overall service. While the rooms and its location are quite special, the service and attention to detail were certainly lacking. The food served at this game lodge had no resemblance to 5 star quality and time taken to prepare was most disturbing. As for the game viewing we saw very little other than being treated to elephants drinking from the rim flow pool on the look out deck. I would certainly not recommend this lodge for game viewing or hospitality, yet its location is quaint and unique.

We waited to book this lodge a few weeks prior to our arrival. Many of the other lodges were already booked. We were told the lodge was a concession adjacent to Kruger. It was adjacent but several other concessions were in between which you couldn't drive on. The game driver barely spoke English and seemed to drive around the same piece of land. It wasn't until a S. African family who had been there several times asked the driver to go closer to Kruger that we saw more animals. Unfortunately, this happened on our last day. If you are looking for a true safari experience research where the lodge is located. It seems the closer you are to Kruger the better your experience will be. This was my second safari. I stayed on Kruger my first safari and had a much different experience.

My husband and myself decided to spoil ourselves and spend this long weekend at the Royal Legend Safari Lodge and Spa to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary. What a awesome Lodge and experience. The staff are unbelievable and went out of their way to ensure we had the best anniversary weekend ever. The Chalets are more than 5 Star, the food, 3 meals a day was more than fantastic. The elephants roaming around the lodge was quite and experience as was the Leopard kill we witnessed from the Restaurant Deck. The Game drives, 2 per day were awesome, even though we were to over fed to go on every drive ... Thanks to Pollin the Lodge Manager for the best weekend ever....You guys are the best....
