My husband and myself had a package deal through Siyabona Africa. 2 nights tented camping & 2 nights at Zuma Zuma. We spent 2 nights in a tented camp inside Kruger National Park at the Flying Lions Tented Safari Camp. Exellent Game Viewing!!! The tents were very nice, flushing toilets, food excellet and a very wild Africa experience. We could hear lions and hyenas at night.. Very cool!! The guides were a delight. Hendrick was very nice but shy, get him talking, he is very interesting. However one women/guide that went by Menzee was not enjoyable, lets say she was bitter and lonely. Other than that it was great. Then we were transfered to Zuma Zuma for real luxury!! Very Nice Rooms!! The guides were great, John and Jonus wonderful!! They worked very hard to show you the animals. If you have seen enough of the "Big Five" tell them so and they will show you other animals. The staff was wonderful at the Zuma Zuma, Russel was lots of fun to hang out with, he was so happy and always laughing. John was very outgoing and we really respected that the lodge owner was out of the country and John was doing a wonderful job of running the place and taking charge! Very nice to see a black african treated with respect!! We to got to eat with the guides. Get John talking about his father, his tribe, the culture! Very interesting! Overall we loved the experience! Two nights felt like long enough at Zuma Zuma and 2 nights camping was perfect! We found the wildlife inside Kruger Park to be more abundant than in the private reserve of Timbavati. If we had more time it would have been spent inside Kruger Park drinking in wildlife.

Our four day stay at Zuma Zuma in January 2005 exceeded our very high expectations - and that's saying something. The camp is small, with only 10 bungalows and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home frrom the moment you get there. A special mention has to be given to our guide, the head ranger, John, and his sidekick, Elvis, who between them took us deep into the bush to track elephants, rhino, buffalo, leopards and eventually some very elusive, sleepy lionesses. We came to believe that our guides couldn't fail - when I mentioned that I would like to see more zebra and giraffe, John immediately pointed the landrover to a different section of the park and delivered! He even managed to find a bush baby in the pitch dark for one particularly demanding guest! The lodge itself was a fantastic place to chill out during the day between game drives - with a little pool and a lovely open dining area. Our guide ate meals with us - which gave us a great opportunity to quiz him more about the park and the wildlife we saw. Part of the experience was being escorted around after dark - the camp is open to the park and we had occasional visits from a troop of baboons and even a very grumpy bull elephant, which I'm glad to say we missed. We ate very well - and particularly enjoyed breakfast after our early starts and dinner after a long evening tracking wildlife. Each bungalow was beautifully decorated, with the choice of an indoor or outdoor shower or a whirlpool bath to wash away the dirt. Another pleasant surprise was the effective air conditioning and the lack of mosquitoes - perfect for those of us who don't like to rough it too much... We couldn't recommend Zuma Zuma more!
