Fantastic experience on our safari. Brett and Jeff were a great guide and tracker, saw many animals and they worked very hard to make sure we saw as many animals as possible. Elephants. giraffes, lions, leopards, hyena, water buck and more. The food was good and our room was good. Highly recommend and would return again
Lovely and casual lodge - pool - great reserve for game viewing - super food - good relaxed atmosphere at Shindzela. All staff are lovely people and very willing to assist with anything. Guides and trackers are very good. House keeping is excellent (Thank you to Lily for that) . Chef and kitchen assistant ladies are excellent! Nice to meet foreign travellers visiting Shindzela. Almost every game drive had good sightings due to the intense tracking of predators that takes place. (Sometimes it is also pleasant to park the vehicle and wait and see what comes past in the way of game). Always nice to have a coffee stop in the early morning and a sundowner drinks stop on the evening game drives. We will definitely return to Shindzela!
We stayed 2 nites, early September. The only guests while we were there. We loved our tent. #5, good proximity to the waterhole. The camp is now fenced. We prefer unfenced, but it was fine. Saw a variety of game come throughout our stay, Rhino, buffalos, etc. Food was very nice and game drives good. We had Johan as our driver. Our tracker Jeffrey I’m sorry to say did not add much to the experience. He enjoys a great reputation on Trip Advisor. He did not engage with us much at all. They did a special dinner one of our evenings by lantern light, Nice touch. I guess you would consider this camp to be budget to moderately priced. The communal area for seating was lovely. Yes, we would recommend it, but we appreciate a more simple and genuinely friendly atmosphere. Camp staff other than Johan were very formal, I suspect this is what is expected of them. Nothing wrong with it, we just prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. Johan our driver acted as camp manager as well the entire time we were there. He is definitely an asset.…
We stayed here at the beginning of September and had a great time. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. The tents are very comfortable and the camp is nice and well laid out. You have an outstanding view of the drinking hole across from the tent. Meals are served often and alcohol is available. The outside meals under the stars were especially nice and romantic. The guides were both knowledgeable and nice. A doctor came to the test for COVID testing and results were obtained as needed. Transfers to/from Hoedspruit and Nelspruit were smooth as well.
WE stayed in Shindzela tented camp just for one night. A bit too short really. We arrived with a flat tyre, which was fixed by the staff in no time. The game drives were okay, but not too exciting to be honest. The park is very dense and lush that time of year, difficult to see much. Wonderful diner in the open air, and good service in general. Special to hear the animals in the wild during the night.
