This lodge exceeding our expectations in every way....efficiency, food, morning/evening safari rides/walks. Grandchildren, elementary age, enjoyed the infinity pool and the game rides. Bush walks are illegal for children under 16 yrs but they got off the vehicle enough to satisfy their curiosity of plants, insects and other critters too small to see from the vehicle.

I rarely leave reviews but this trip merits a 5 star review for a 5 star experience! From the moment you arrive you are welcomed by the friendliest staff at the rounabout with a welcome drink and cold towels. Small gesture that sets the tone for your trip. We were whisked away straight to lunch with champagne right before an afternoon drive just an hour after arrival. The rooms are absolutely beautiful with indoor and outdoor showers, tons of privacy on your veranda and a full sliding door that opens to have an outdoor feel when using the bath. The food was absolutely amazing - I was sooooo full for 5 days straight as they are giving you homemade snacks and things in between meals all day long. This lodge only has 6 rooms which make it the most intimate and most amazing experience - you get to have dinner with each guide on a rotation per night and get to know more about their experiences. You also get to choose to dine together with the other guests each night or on your own or in your own private veranda dinner. My husband and I personally chose to enjoy dinner with everyone each night enjoying a drink by the fire each night followed by dinner and awesome company. One of the days we chose to have lunch in our room and they set it up so nicely so we can enjoy our veranda and even brought us a bottle of champagne to acompany it. You have a mini fridge stocked with whatever you'd like (they will ask what you'd like in it upon arrival) and will always refill a small bucket of ice and snacks for you. They set up coffee during morning drives and sundowner drink in evening drives and just make you feel so special. It's everything I could've ever asked for for my first safari - we saw the big 5 within the first 2 drives. Our guides Liam and tracker Trust were the sweetest people ever and so knowledgeable. Our host Margueritte and butler Ishmael made us enjoy every second of the trip while at the lodge taking care of every little thing you could ever imagine and having a beautiful surprise for us on the last night. The attention to detail at this lodge is unreal!!! If you can save up for this lodge and book 4 nights - do it. I will cherish our 4.5 days for the rest of my life!!! Thank you Rockfig for the amazing trip and I can't wait to come back one day once the new lodge is built with private plunge pools and spa on site!

Rockfig is a special place. The staff couldn’t do more for you. The accommodation is immaculate, the food is sensational and the guides are very knowledgable. We saw everything other than Buffalo in four action packed game drives. Some lovely personal touches to your stay and it really feels like you are part of the Rockfig family with only a maximum of 4 rooms booked each night. Could not recommend it highly enough for any couples or families. Thank you to Danie (guide) and Kelly & Marguerite (front of house) for making our stay one that my family will always remember. We will be back!

I have been to many safaris all over the world and this is one of the best. Saw the big five on 1st day except the leopard and we finally saw the elusive leopard, we experienced a kill right in front of our vehicle! (Special thanks to our guide and tracker that took a chance to position ourselves in front of the leopard instead of following it). But the highlight was a herd of 35+ elephants drinking from the pool. Now that was surreal! I also have to give compliments that I left money in my pant pocket and the staff returned the money to me in full. So overall, great service, good food, trustworthy staff, excellent accommodations and over the top beyond expectations game sightings. And even special elephant guests joined us for drinks.

Rock Fig @ Timbavati Reserve was absolutely above reproach in every way. From the welcoming & caring staff to luxurious accommodations and food to location, Rock Fig is everything you could hope for! The am & pm game drives were amazing experiences from every aspect! The safari guides & sighters, the sunrise and sunset snacks in the bush along with a special bush breakfast were just some of the extraordinary moments of our stay. Watching the family herd of elephants that visited the Lodge 1 night to get water from the pool was awesome! This was the total African experience, & a memory for a lifetime! Thank you to all @ Rock Fig!!

From the moment we arrived & throughout our entire stay we were made feel so welcome & looked after. The game drives were a huge highlight enhanced by the extremely knowledgeable & enthusiastic guides & trekkers to make the experience very enjoyable & memorable, including the morning stop off for Amarula coffees! The accommodation was superb, the food was fabulous, the bush breakfasts were also amazing. Special thanks to Marguerite, Liam, Rennico, Lorenz, Eddie, Sylvia, Nicole, Daphne, KC & Korel for looking after us all so well. Highly recommend the safari experience & amazing stay at Rockfig Safari Lodge.

A boutique lodge which exceeded our expectations in every respect and kept on delivering. Exceptional game viewing - Big 5 twice in one day as well as wild dogs and an amazing array of birds but that was only part of it. Loved the fact that there were no more than 4 guests in any vehicle and that no more than two vehicles were at any siting. Location was amazing - watching a family of around 16 elephants drink from the swimming pool whilst we were in it will stay with me forever. Staff went out of their way to make everything special, including decorating our room as a surprise for our anniversary. Rooms were beautiful, cuisine was 5 star and food never stopped coming. Loved the little touches and the attempts at sustainability - individual water bottles and reusable coffee cups. Thanks Rockfig - not sure we will ever top our safari experience with you

Where do we start? This is not "a vacation", it's an amazing experience! The facilities were truly exceptional, you can enjoy the commun area including the pool, bar area and outside lounge or simply retire to your quiet and comfortable little villa. Though the facilities are great it's the staff that makes all the difference. Always there to make sure your stay is truly exceptional. Food and drinks are excellent and the outside diner setups are remarkable. But why did we travel from Canada to South Africa? For the game drives and the opportunity to see animals in their natural environment and boy did we get our money's worth! The comfortable vehicles but most importantly the fun and knowledgeable ranger/spotter made this the best trip of our lives. Shout out to Liam and Eddie in making our trip an amazing experience that we will remember for a long time. Thanks to the whole RockFig team!!
