This is our 2nd visit to this magical lodge and it once again delivered an unforgettable experience. From the moment you arrive and greeted at the lodge to when you leave, you feel special and I commend the entire team at Thornybush on really making their guest feel special. A special mention to our game ranger - Daniel and our tracker, Frank for providing us with amazing game sightings and to Shepart, our butler, who always had a smile. The accommodation is world class with stunning views of the bush including a bathroom which looks out on the riverbed and bush. The food is outstanding, but be warned, there is plenty to choose from and eat. The rooms do not have TV so it is a wonderful place to totally break away from the business of the world/ Last but not least, the game viewing is out of this world and whilst not everyone may be as fortunate as we were, the ranger and trackers are very professional and seek to provide their guests with a special experience. We were fortunate to witness a African wild dog hunt chase and devouring their kill whilst fending off two hyenas, lionesses with their cubs, elephant, white rhino, zebras, buffalo including the white buffalo calf, leopard and plenty of birds. A very special place and we will definitely be back.

We had a great stay at Thornybush, where we spent four nights in April. Our team - Sean & John 'The Best' - were really great at finding us animal sightings, with two leopard eating their kills on two different days! The lodge is nicely laid out with plenty of social distancing. The food was really good, with great attention to detail and catering for all needs. The spa is also very nice, I arrived with a bit of a neck spasm after the long drive from Joburg, and they sorted me out with a great back & shoulder massage. The rooms have everything you would need/want, but one criticism is the fact that the beds are about a full meter off the ground, so it's a bit of a mission to get into bed when you're short. Overall, a fantastic lodge, with great safari experience.

Unbelievable experience. Thornyush Game Lodge is set in a 1200 Ha Private Conservancy which shares an open fence with the Greater Kruger National Park. Stayed there for 2 nights recently and wished that the trip was much longer, as we couldn't get enough. Everything, from the room to the common facilities was impeccable. And the service was par excellence. My wife follows a Vegan, Gluten Free and Caffeine Free diet, which is a massive challenge to cater to. But the Chef at thornybush ensured that she never was short of food, be it at the meals or at the breaks during the game drives. The Chef would ensure that he sent special cookies and snacks for my wife on every game drive. The Guide (Kelvin), the Tracker (Ishmail) and our Butler (Glory) were amazing. Kelvin ensured we had the best sightings, and even lent us his Binoculars since we forgot to take ours to the trip. Cannot recommend Thornybush enough.

My 8-year old daughter and I booked an impromptu trip.Wow! Exceeded expectations. I hope to be able to go again one day! Food was delicious and in abundance, rooms gorgeous (exactly as per website pics), fabulous and helpful staff. Our range and tracker (Kel and Ishmael) were the best and what a team. They went above and beyond for viewings. The game drives were legendary and we loved every one of them. It felt like a great adventure and really enjoyed the bundu bashing. Big 5 close-up: check! Luxurious but unpretentious lodge.
