We had the best time at Nzumba lodge!
The camp itself is perfect for a unique and exclusive, private bush experience! The rooms are beautiful and big with his and hers bathrooms and aircon, a big plus on those hot summer days when it's 35°C or more! Each room has a private patio where we had a great view over the waterhole right in front of the camp. During our stay, the weather wasn't the best but the main building had plenty of space to lounge around but on sunny days we would spend our time during the day at the pool and watching the animals coming to drink at the waterhole.
We had the best game viewing with great sightings of elephant, lion, leopard (three different leopards in one sighting!), rhino and an entire morning of following a pack of wild dogs playing around and on the hunt. Absolutely amazing! The great thing about Klaserie is there are barely any other cars around so you can really enjoy all the wildlife in peace.
Everyone at Klaserie Camps went the extra mile to make our stay so wonderful!
Klaserie Camps has been a favorite for years and we will definitely be back :)

I have been running safaris in conjunction with Klaserie Camps since 2013. The entire team, especially Lee-Anne and Donovan are an absolute pleasure to work with and are the epitome of professionalism. I can recommend this establishment to any and everyone that is looking for an authentic safari experience where their needs will be taken care of in every way. The lodges are small, well-appointed and meticulously run. As a safari operator, they are my number one choice throughout the entire Kruger National Park region.

We took the whole lodge on a self catered basis with another family. The attention to detail and quality of accomodation met all our expectations. Our hosts Frikkie and Natasha were world class and Knowledge the chef prepared our meals perfectly giving us a bespoke bush experience we look forward to repeating.

The entire experience was amazing, start to finish. At our arrival at one of the camps (Nzumba), we were met by the hotel manager, who explained to us how the safaris and days would go, while other staff took our bags. We were offered welcome drinks as well. The hotel is a series of cottages looking out at a watering hole, where animals can be seen during the day. Each cottage has a large bed and bathroom, with lots of space. Staff clean the rooms daily, and the landscaping was very well done.
The meals are very good, with a chef who is sublime. During the 4 day stay, I had a variety of meals , cooked amazingly well. After waking up early, you're taken out for a safari drive just as the sun rises. The vehicle is open on all sides, with seating for about 9. With no other tourists, our group of 6 had a private vehicle. The two members of staff who accompanied us were very knowledgeable and smart, teaching us about the animals, climate, and geology even. They knew the patterns of these animals and were able to net us great photos of a variety of animals. Both had a keen eye to spot animals that we wouldn't have had a chance to otherwise. Halfway through the ride, you can stop for some refreshments and snack, then continue.
After the morning ride, you'll have breakfast, and have some time to yourself. You'll have a afternoon tea, which is combined with a lunch prior to your evening game ride. You'll conclude with dinner. Overall, the staff was amazing—with service that was top notch at all times. The experience was unforgettable and amazing. Even with COVID, all the staff was able to stay on—without any being fired or laid off. Unfortunately, the effects of Apartheid have still remained and can be seen in the treatment of nonwhite South Africans, even at this natural reserve.

We had the pleasure of enjoying the beauty of Nortbern Klaserie with a weekend at Nzumba lodge. Wow!! What an awesome time we had - Frikkie and Natasha together with their friendly staff made sure we were well looked after! An intimate lodge with each meal enjoyed in a new setting, with definite highlights been the bush breakfast and boma dinner. Loved how they surprised us with each new setting! Andries the tracker had the most amazing eye sight and many many happy hours were spent looking for game & learning about the bush! The children were made to feel very special and welcome! Would highly recommend this lodge to those looking to enjoy the bush in an intimate setting! Oh and 2 nights is far too little!

We stayed at Nzumba which is one of the lodges in the Klaserie reserve. We were on our honeymoon and stayed here for 3 nights, but I must say I could easily have stayed here for a lot longer. Everything, from the hosts Jaime and Siobhan, the food, the accommodation and the stunning view across the watering hole was simply perfect. It’s hard putting into words how amazing this place is as it needs to be experienced first hand. Jaime and Siobhan made us feel like friends right from the start, the game drives were fabulous, then coming back to probably some of the best food we’ve ever eaten prepared by Alex, the smiliest chef ever, was just brilliant. We then relaxed around the pool on sunbeds overlooking the watering hole, to see elephants, warthogs, giraffes, various birds and antelopes etc just wandering on down for a drink or to roll in the mud.
My husband is gluten intolerant and he was catered for better here than in the uk. Alex even made gluten free rolls for him, how I have no idea but it was incredible!
5 stars isn’t enough for Nzumba as it deserves a 1000, we left here with heavy hearts and won’t hesitate to come back. Definitely a place where you arrive as customers and leave as friends.

We stayed at Klaserie Nzumba Camp for 5 days last week and it was absolutely mindblowing.
The accommodation is immaculate with beautiful touches.
Frikkie was our guide and his knowledge extends far beyond wildlife. He knows so much about culture, history and his stories will leave you in stiches! Andries, our tracker, found us the most magical of sightings with his eagle eyesight (we had exclusive access to sightings so the wildlife were barely affected by our presence).
Anne the chef left us wobbling to our rooms like happy hippos with her incredible cooking and Natasha our manageress is exceptional, making sure we never missed a magical moment here.
Also, my boyfriend proposed on the second night with a most magical setting thanks to all the staff members mentioned above (and more).

I spent a week in the Greater Kruger area, at the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, with our lodge being at Klaserie Camps Nzumba. I really can't recommend the lodge and thier staff enough.
Our game drives were varied and our guide and tracker did an amazing job in getting us in the right places. If you've never experienced being in the middle of a pride of lions, at night, contact calling... well, you're missing out!
Klaserie Camps Nzumba was amazing!! The location is just superb and the staff are incredible. We were very, very well loooked after by Siobhan, Jaimie, Matt and Meghan.. not to mention our tracker Thomas, the chef David and all the housekeeping staff at the lodge. The food was first class and nothing was to much trouble! Exemplary.
Eating dinner in a different location within the camp every night was such a fantastic experience. Grounds lit by torches and sat overlooking the watering hole and under a million stars!
I would not hesitate to recommend Klaserie Camps Nzumba to anyone who is thinking of going on a safari.

A truly magical experience.. Frikkie, Natasha, Clyde and all the other staff went out of their way to ensure that everyone in the family (young and old) enjoyed every second.. Cheff Knowledge ensured that every meal was perfect and Neva served us with enthusiasm and a smile. Will go back in a heart beat
