This place is PERFECT for the very best safari experience. I have now visited around 8 times and every time it has been consistently high quality. The rooms are luxurious and comfy, the food is wonderful and the peace and quiet of the whole lodge is hard to describe. Corlia and James are wonderful hosts and the knowledge of the guides is second to none. We'll keep coming back as often as we can. Thank you again for a wonderful birthday celebration trip.

Booking a lodge to stay at in Kruger wasn't easy but we lucked out by choosing Senalala. Everything from the staff to the game drives to the meals was top-notch!
I could go on for days about how great staying here was but starting with the staff, Corlia was an incredible help getting everything sorted for our stay. She was shockingly fast to respond to my emails and was always available if we needed anything at all. As far as guest services go, she should write the rule book.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Darryn and Niki and while Darryn showed us around the lodge, our luggage was brought and was waiting for us in our room.
Traveling with dietary restrictions can sometimes be tricky, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure that my friend and I were taken care of and had plenty of options at each meal… which, speaking of, the smorgasbord of food that was out for every meal was very impressive! There were tons of options and if you went hungry, it was your own fault. Also, eating with the other guests, hosts and managers around one big table felt like a big family dinner.
Having gone on 2 prior “game drives” in other locations of South Africa, we didn’t know what to expect now being on a private reserve. I put “game drives” in quotations because they were like a knock-off version of Walt Disney World compared to what we experienced with our field guide Darryn. Trust me when I say that the game drives alone make Senalala a 5-star lodge, but with the rest of it added on top, it was truly incredible. So incredible that we initially only booked to stay 2 nights and extended it another, making us give up our premium seats on our flight home just so we could have another 24hrs there. I really can’t speak highly enough about our stay!

We visited Senalala for the third time last July for four consecutive days. Before we arrived Corlia had been very helpful in arranging our stay and getting there in terms of COVID regulations. We got a very warm welcome from Corlia, James and Connor and felt at home from the very first moment that we arrived. Game drives were amazing! The animals decide whether or not they want to show themselves, and therefore you never know up front what to see (or not to see), given that you are out in the bush. However, Connor and James tried all their best to locate animals, and this resulted in brilliant sightings! We saw the Big 5, wild dogs, and lots of other great animals. The food was superb, very tasty and also very diverse. The lodge itself is beautiful, the rooms each contain a very nice painting of animals, have a luxurious bathroom, and our room (number 8) also had an outside shower. There is a water hole in front of the lodge - and during our first lunch we were welcomed by a large herd of elephants running towards the water hole for a refreshing drink. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and do recommend Senalala to others. We have also visited other private lodges in South Africa, but none can compete with this one (in this price range). We can’t wait to return again for our fourth stay!

We got married in May 2019 and always had our hearts set on going on a safari for our honeymoon.
Our friends travelled to South Africa previously and highly recommended Senalala Luxury Safari Lodge.
And what can we say!
Senalala was such a beautiful lodge,
The staff there are all so friendly and welcoming!
When we arrived at the lodge we were greeted by Corlia, Niki, Darryn and our guide Connor.
We were given a tour around the lodge and shown where we were staying. The staff were so thoughtful and left us flowers in our room with a bottle of champagne and a card congratulating us on our marriage.
The lodge is a lovely open area with a pool, viewing area with a watering hole opposite, open fire and a ‘family’ sized table everyone in the lodge would sit arround for breakfast, lunch and dinner which is lovely to get to know everyone.
There was a variety of food you could choose from for each meal. The food was delicious! There was also a range of drinks you could choose from whenever you liked from the communal kitchen area.
We went on two game drives a day with our guide Connor, one was early morning and the other late afternoon/evening.
They were truly an experience we will never forget! Being able to see the animals in their own habitat and up close was unreal!
Connor was highly knowledgeable about the animals and how to track them. We were very lucky to see all of the big 5 and also wild dogs!
In between the game drives there was always something to do wether it was relaxing by the pool, sitting in the viewing area looking out and spotting the animals around the watering hole or sitting round the open fire in the evening.
We can’t thank all the staff at Senalala enough for making us feel so welcome and making our honeymoon an experience we will never forget and cherish forever!
We highly recommended staying at Senalala Luxury Safari Lodge and we are so glad we chose this beautiful place to stay! We can’t wait to come back on one of our anniversary’s!

Words cannot even describe our recent visit to Senalala! Everything from the accommodations to the food to the game drives was incredible, but what set this resort apart from others was the warmth, kindness and attention to detail of the staff! You are treated like royalty, nothing is too much trouble for James & Corlia, and you will cherish every single moment you spend there! The game drives were fantastic; our guides James, Johan & Geena were so knowledgeable, engaging and determined to give us the best experience each & every time we went out on a drive. Yes we saw the Big Five, but it was even more than that! Just being in the presence of these guides is an absolute treat; you learn, you laugh, you respect, you admire…
The rooms were spotless and comfortable, with breathtaking views of the watering hole & animals. The meals were absolutely delicious with something to appeal to everyone’s palates, the wine selections (especially the Pinotage) were perfect, and the snacks/drinks brought on the game drives were thoroughly enjoyed by all!
I would highly recommend Senalala if you are thinking of going on Safari anytime soon, I promise you will have zero regrets!

We absolutely loved our stay in Senalala Safari Lodge! With so many choices we felt that what set Senalala apart from other places was its service. James and Corlia, run a great business. They were happy to answer all of our questions and provided great service. They even ate all of the meals with us and we simply enjoyed their company. Connor was also a fantastic guide. He was so nice and friendly and did his absolute best to make sure we would get maximum value for our game drives. We saw all the big 5 plus wild dogs! The accommodation was fantastic and my mom and I were honoured to be the first Americans staying there in close to a year. There are some fantastic places to relax while not on the game drives, the food was diverse and fantastic and there was an exquisite variety of wine and beer to choose from while not on the drives. Once again however, what truly sets Senalala apart from other game reserves is James, Corlia and Connor. It is not always a guarantee how many animals you will see or if weather will cooperate (though we had excellent luck regarding both), it is a guarantee however, that these three will go out of their way to provide you with excellent service, care and company during your stay. I can't recommend this place enough and hope to go back soon!

As regular game reserve travellers in South Africa, we had high expectations for our Senalala experience, and it exceeded all of them! We spent an incredible few days as a family at Senalala with wonderful hosts Corlia and James, and awesome guide Connor. The hospitality was exceptional, the lodge has everything that you could wish for (including a pool, a gym, wifi and an amazing view of a waterhole) and the food was delicious. We had awesome sightings of all of the Big Five, and were extremely lucky to sit with a pack of wild dogs in a river bed too. Too many highlights to mention. The helicopter flip over the Blyde River Canyon was an experience of a lifetime! Senalala provides the perfect bush holiday for both local and international guests. Highly highly recommended. We can't wait to go back!

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Senalala Safari Lodge after a good friend recommended us to stay there. From the moment you arrive until the moment you leave, you can be assured to enjoy a very special bush experience. The area is open to Kruger National Park and it is amazing to see the animals in their natural habitat and such a variety of wildlife. The landscape changes all the time and no one area looks the same as the other. The guides are so friendly and knowledgeable and they try their best with each game drive to give you the most rewarding experience possible. The food is delicious and it’s served buffet style so you can choose what you like and the drinks are readily available for your enjoyment without the hassle of keeping record of what you drink as it’s all included in your stay. We enjoyed every single moment and hope to return in the near future as we already miss the animals, the bush, nature, sunsets and the people of Senalala.

What an awesome week away in such a great place. From the moment we arrived till we had to sadly leave it was an unforgettable trip. Not just because we saw amazing animals during the whole week but because the staff are so friendly and helpful, the accommodation is everything that you need and want, food was delicious, rangers adding value and the calm of just sitting watching a water hole with a coffee.
Cant wait to go back!!

We spent 4 nights at Senalala at the beginning of December and had a wonderful visit,.The team, from management, to guides, to the kitchen and cleaning staff, make you feel very welcome and deliver top-flight customer service. We had great sightings, particularly of wild dogs and mopani worms! Our guide, Taya, was very knowledgeable and went our of her way to cater for our specific likes, such as bird watching. The highlight for us was a bush walk where you we were able to see and appreciate the smaller things in the bush. It is a very relaxed atmosphere at the Lodge itself with great food. Thanks James, Corlia and the Senalala team for a great stay - we will be back!

Atovaquone/proguanil is sold as Malarone and is the most widely used prophylactic medicine for Malaria in the Kruger area.
The decision to take this is very much a personal one in conjunction with a medical professional . There are side effects (temporary and usually minor) however there is also a very small chance of getting malaria, which can be life threatening.
Alternatives are using DEET (between dusk and dawn)with long sleeves and pants.
If Senalala has AC and window screens that also helps.
Glad to hear you are planning a trip to Africa! I am not sure about the pricing, but there were definitely families there. The rooms are very spacious. I have two suggestions: email Corlia at Senalala. She is amazing! Also, our travel agent Darren from Compass Odyssey was really outstanding and I recommend using him also. He is based in Cape Town. I am very detail oriented and he was the most attentive and responsive agent I have ever worked with. Hope that helps.
Not sure about the flights, but stay at Senalala! The people, property and drives are amazing!
We are an all inclusive destination with all meals, beverages,( beer,wine,liquor,non-alcoholic etc) and safaris included in the price. The only items that are not included are specialty ordered alcoholic beverages, items of a personal nature and optional gratuities.
Senalala is an all inclusive destination so everything is included in the price (except optional gratuities).
If you go to the website it is highlighted under the " The Big 5 Reasons to stay" .
I hope this clarifies everything.
