We have already seen many beautiful places in the world, but this is
truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.
Upon arrival you will feel like you are in a movie, welcomed by all the
staff, led by Anette, who are welcoming us with a refreshing towel and a
delicious drink. From that moment on, the staff is 200% there for you
during the day to pamper you extremely,
nothing is too much to ask.
The food is fantastic, the Chef prepares a well-thought-out theme
dinner every day with, of course with matching wines.
It starts in the morning after the early game drive with an amazing breakfast where you will not miss anything. Every day we discuss what is planned
for the next day in terms of breakfast, lunch and dinner and they are
very flexible about this, it could not be better.
The lodges are fantastic, large, beautifully finished and
especially the furnishings is superb. They are connected separately
from each other, so you have maximum privacy on your terrace and outdoor shower.
The whole lodge is wheelchair prove a big plus for the lodge, everything is well thought of.
We were with a group of 8 friends and really enjoyed the Game Drives twice a
day. We quickly noticed during the first drives that this location
is different from most lodges in the Kruger Park. The animals we saw
were really extreme, every day we spotted a different one of the Big5!
The beautiful tours led by Matth and Frank are really unique, but
also the wonderful massages every day, riding through the bush
with quads and a spectacular helicopter flight, really too much to mention.
Patrick ,Elly and Nobu and of course the entire Crew thank you very much for this
unforgettable time, good luck with your paradise on earth.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay with you!

What a super holiday we had with the family at Ximuwu lodge! A lifetime experience! Everything was super organized from the pick up at the airport to the safari with the experienced guides. The guides who knew everything about the big 5, but also they have a lot of knowledge of the other animals from large to small. Between the safaris we relaxed in the pool and had a good massage. The food was of a good quality. When we returned after the safari they already had a nice drink ready at the bar. The rooms are big and clean with a beautiful view at the Kruger park. When we open the curtains early, the animals walk in front of your window, a really special experience so close. Finally a really great experience with a lot of enthusiastic people and great staff!

We had the privilege of visiting Ximuwu lodge in October and were whisked away into an African dream.

After the warmest welcoming by the notorious Ximuwu staff, your breath is taken away by every piece of décor, each placed with the greatest attention to detail.

The exclusivity of Ximuwu is something that we have not experienced before. The staff is absolutely focussed on meeting your every need.

The fact that there is no commercial activity on the property cause for great excitement on game-drives. Mark and Sydney do all the tracking themselves which gets your heart racing with every “clue” nature throws their way. Their knowledge amazes.

Back on home grounds, the kitchen staff, led by Jess and MJ make sure that not only the breathtaking views are forever printed in your memories but also every single plate of food that enters the enchanting dining room.

The lovely hostesses and talented Giford ensure that you are never caught empty handed. Whether at the pool, boma or lounge area.

Be sure to visit Thandy at the spa if you are looking for utmost relaxation.

This has truly been magical!
Thank you Patrick and Elly.

Our stay at Ximiwu Private Reserve has just been amazing. The Superior Service at this Lodge makes the difference, the staff is very friendly and is available for you every minute of the day for whatever you need. The private suites are cleaned more times per day and it is quite to sleep. Coffee on the terrace of your suite is just nice to start the day and see wild animals passing by, unbelievable but true. The food is delicious; breakfast, lunch, dinner, the fine dining is an absolute plus in the entire experience. We loved the meat, fish, vegetables, fruits served fresh every day. We have been spoiled with the best cocktails and mocktails prepared by the bar tender! We felt very relaxed during our stay, there is no time pressure, we could decide when to go on game drive, when to do a walking safari, or when to spend time in the fitness or in the SPA (massages are the best, really). After early morning game drive and breakfast it is great to relax at the pool and go for a swim. The Safari Guide & Tracker are extremely passionate, we learned a lot about the wildlife, how animals react to treats and when to best stay quit and just watch the wild animals from close by (Lion, Elephant, Giraf, Buffalo, Rhino, Zebra, Impala and more). We have been happily surprised with apero & dinner in the middle of the bush – just fantastic. One of the highlights is definitely the helicopter flight with magnificent views over the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve & the Blyde River Canyon. Also special is to watch, from a hide, Elephants drinking in the waterhole just in front of the lodge. We enjoyed this unique experience during 5 days in Feb 2023 and can highly recommend to anybody interested in wilderness adventures in a luxury environment. Must do!

What an experience! Five stars aren’t enough in our opinion. The lodge is just wonderful. Everything has been thought of down to the last detail. We were totally blown away by it all. We were there as a family and immediately felt at home and welcomed by Matt & Anet.
Mr T was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble and we loved his mixology skills!
The weather wasn’t great for part of our stay but despite that we had some lovely drives and viewings thanks to Matt and Frank.
In the bad weather, we were more than happy to watch the wildlife out on the airstrip from the comfort of the lodge. Again, everything was done by Anet and the other staff to make this as pleasant as possible. We were completely looked after.
The chefs are brilliant and the food is fantastic. We had an amazing “Christmas” dinner when we arrived on Boxing Day. Along with a tasting menu & a braai. Everything was delicious!
Princess is also lovely and a very talented masseuse and therapist.
All the staff are incredibly friendly
Luckily the weather cleared for our helicopter trip with Gerry - there are no words to describe this. It was by far the best thing we’ve ever done on safari and up there with our top overall experiences! It was extremely emotional and thanks to Patrick for capturing those emotions with his candid photography skills.
Patrick and Ellie have done a magnificent job in building the whole experience with nothing to fault. We very much hope to remain friends with you and obviously to return as soon as can.

Ximuwu. Wauw! What an experience. The whole team was dedicated to make our stay spectacular. Every aspect surpassed our expectations.

The location, the (wheelchair friendly) accommodation, facilities, food, wines(!), staff and wildlife are simply amazing.

Being able to determine the times for your private game drives is wonderful, and the “sound” game drive was a first for us.

While relaxing by the pool, several animals stroll by to say “Hello”, very cool!

We highly recommend Ximuwu and we will be back soon, for sure.

Our stay at Ximuwu was just incredible. It is going to be hard but we will try and keep it short.

The lodge design is detailed and sophisticated, with all the comforts you could ask for. We really enjoyed sitting at Ximuwu's world class "Soho" bar while looking out at a heard of elephants, drinking from the watering hole a few meters in front of us, at the same time lions roar not too far AND the cry of jackals!

"The family" at Ximuwu made us feel so special. Mr T, with his big smile, was there whenever we needed something, service that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere. Matt & Frank took us on the adventures of a lifetime, we have never experienced such exclusive game viewing before, their knowledge and passion for the bush was amazing. Our bush highlight: Seeing Wild Dogs on a kill! Then watching 4 species of vultures fight for the leftovers, THEN, 10 min later we watched 8 lions take & fight over another Impala!
We would personally like to give "our" chef Abigail a Michelin star for the culinary excellence, molto delizioso!! Thank you Annette for bringing it all together & making us feel at home.

Thank you Elly & Patrick for creating this luxury haven out in the African wilderness, we hope to visit you and your amazing Ximuwu again soon.

As a wheelchair user i highly recommend this exclusive destination to all people with impairments. The lodge is Elegant, stylish and 100% accessible. This was one of the most wonderful Safari experiences ever and the attention to detail mind blowing. It was easy for me to get onto the game viewer and the endless horizons and game viewing an unforgettable experience. The staff are friendly and attentive to special needs. In October 2022 we had the pleasure to experience week in the brand new Ximuwu lodge, and we had the best time!
Two private rangers, with a very respectable knowledge about the parcs plants and wildlife, took us on a daily safari. They learned us all about the big five, but also, just to name a few, spiders, termites, birds, beatles and ants were subject to the rangers fascinating stories.
Back in the Ximuwu lodge we got submerged into luxury. A spa, hairdresser, swimming pool, thematic rooms, and 3 times a day the most delicious and healthy meals. This included a bush dinner, a truly mesmerizing experience, having dinner while being surrounded by elephants and other wildlife.
We are happy we had the honour to stay here for a whole week, an experience we will never forget and cherish for the rest of our life. 10/10

What a fantastic lodge to visit! The lodge itself is very beautiful and stylish decorated. The whole staff of Anet, our guide Matt, the restaurant manager Mr T, the massage therapist Princess, everybody was so dedicated, talented and sweet, we instantly felt at home and relaxed. The food (thanks chef Katlego!) was exquisite, and the last evening bush dinner was amazing. We brought our quadriplegic friend Erik, and he told us that this was the first time (sorry other lodges) that he visited a lodge where EVERYTHING was wheelchair-accessible. Last but certainly not least: the helicopter-ride was definitely something he never thought he could do again. Thanks, everybody; this was an amazing experience!
