Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I just returned from a fabulous four night stay at this wonderful lodge. Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport we were met by Priscilla who was to our ranger for the length of our stay. She was very courteous and professional and made us feel at home right away. Our drive to the lodge took about half and hour during which time we saw numerous wildlife. Once at the lodge we were met with a cool towel and a drink and shown to our room which consisted of a large bedroom and a separate large bath. We were told that our first drive would be at 4:30pm and to meet at the bar for high tea which consisted of appetizers and any type of drink you would care for. After tea we went out for our first drive along with our tracker, Kenneth which was very memorable as we spotted two male lions and a female with her pride which consisted of about 8 cubs. We also were able to see a leopard guarding its kill in a tree. That evening we also saw various giraffe, zebra, impala, kudu, warthogs, buffalo, nyala and waterbuck. We stopped while in the bush and Pricilla and Kenneth set up a table and the offered us a drink and various snacks. We returned that night and they had a boma ( barbeque) under the stars during which time the staff performed traditional African songs and dances. The food provided was very good and plentiful. The next morning we received a wake up call at 5:00am and we met in the dinning area where coffee, tea, fruit and a light breakfast was provided. At 6:00am we went out again on safari. That morning we were fortunate again to have another leopard walk out of the bush in front of our vehicle. We again saw lions, giraffes, dazzle of zebras, Rhino, elephants, water buffalo, African buffalo along with many of the animals listed above and then some so in the first two drives we had seen the BIG FIVE. Over the course of our remaining time we had the opportunity to see Hippos, crocodiles, Jackals, mongoose and many of the other animals listed above. I must say that our ranger, Priscilla and our tracker were great and we were thankful that we had such compassionate professionals as they got us up close to the animals but respected their place. They met and exceeded our expectations. I would be remiss if I did not mention our waitress, Precious who could never do enough for us and was concerned that we could not eat at all the meals provided as it was just too much. The bartender, Respect and his waiter friend, Sam were great and we enjoyed speaking with them. All of the staff we encountered were very nice. Also of note one of the days we were there was my wife birthday and they surprised her with a cake and also performed a song ands dance routine in her honor and ended with them all singing happy birthday to my wife which made her day very special. In closing I would recommend Kapama to anyone as it is truly a great experience.

Flawless start to finish. Simply one incredible experience. Staff was awesome, game drives, food, ambiance, pickup, drop-off, absolute perfection in a very laid back manner. I put all of my world travel itinerary's together personally, no "expertise" help. I booked the family suite which latter learned/was told is really geared for kids 13 & under, mine were early/mid 20's. Nevertheless, the suite was perfect as I wanted comfort + quality time with my adult kids, the suite worked perfectly for us. The lap pools are tiny, I dipped in twice, my wife once, and "the kids" zero times. My daughter did enjoy sunning on the patio & there is a big pool that is nice,

We had a great stay at Kapama as a family. The safari teams were very well organised and totally committed to helping us see as many animals as possible. The hotel is magnificent, beautifully decorated and perfectly maintained. The rooms are large, as are the bathrooms. The staff are very friendly, smiling and always available. The meals are good and in sufficient quantity, and for Christmas Day, the tables and menus were adapted to the festive season. There was even a choir and traditional dances. I fully recommend this hotel.

We were at Kapama Southern Camp for 4 days and we had the best services we ever had. We travel a lot. The services were very attentive, caring, effective and personalized. We had the same rangers and employees for all our stay. Very fast, they knew our needs and desires and did their best to satisfy us. We felt as if we were at home. The food was excellent. The rooms and the environnement were beautiful .

Kapama Safari Lodge was amazing in every way! On the safaris, morning and evening, we saw the big 5, incluging the elusive Leopard on two occasions, and all the other amazing big animals! We also saw every other animal in the wild that we could imagine, including warthogs with babies and hyenas. This was wholly due to our exceptional safiari guides, who cared to give us the best possible experience and worked hard at tracking the animals so that we would have that opportunity. The lodge itself is beautiful and comfortable and every staff member seems dedicated to ensuring your total satisfaction. The spa was fantastic, as the personnel for treatments were professional and delivered exceptional service. There are four lodges at Kapama. The River Lodge is the largest with a spa on site. The Southern Camp is smaller where we stayed truly delivered a personal experience. There is not a spa on site at Southern Camp, so you drive 8 minutes to Karula to use the spa and facilities there. Reception was very accommodating in making our reservations and coordinating rides to the Spa. The Spa at Karula is beautiful and relaxing. There is also a gym there that we used before our spa treatments. Buffalo Camp at Kapama is the smallest resort with rooms elevated in the treetops. All of the lodges at Kapama are 1st rate - very nice and feel luxurious. The staff goes out of its way to ensure your best experience.

We were upgraded to a premium bungalow. Had a nicely kept private pool Comfortable king size bed, a large soaking tub, and indoor/outdoor shower. You make your way down the path to the dining area, passing wildlife along the way. There are many species (non preditors) living inside the wire where the resort is located. My wife and I chartered a Beech 1900 to pick us up from Wonderboom airport and were met with a champaign reception in the hangar at Kapama. You go out on 2 safaris per day, starting with a 5 am wake up call, and a brief coffee and breakfast snack. We were then greeted by our safari guides with hot water bags wrapped in blankets to keep us warm for the morning drives. the evening safaris were broken into two with a cocktail hour on the plains. We saw many animals and this was an amazing experience and also recommend taking the "Heard Experience" if you have the chance.
