This was the most amazing experience, animals aside the accommodation at Kapama Buffalo Camp was second to none. The tents were spacious, clean and well appointed. The staff was absolutely doting, the management made sure we were all safe and happy after every safari. Our guide was amazing, he taught us so much and the tracker (Foster) found us our...

First this is the best place to stay while going on safari, with only 10 tents you have a very intimate setting. The tents are not your average tent, these would be a 5 star hotel to shame. Taking a bath after the evening drive looking out on the savannah and hearing the animals there is nothing like it. The...

Kapama Buffalo Camp was superb! I was there with a group of friends and the staff went over and above to ensure we had an amazing experience. Our knowledgeable ranger/guide Brent and gifted tracker Foster were a terrific team, searching out the big 5, the ugly 5 and the tiny 5, showing us the wide range of wildlife in the...

This place is great, service was amazing. Drives were awesome, tracker and driver were very informative and really made the trip for us. We saw loads of animals including the big 5, literally can't fault the place.

I cannot say enough great things about the Buffalo lodge at Kapama! With only 10 'tents' there are never more than 20 guests and the personal service the staff provide all day every day is just lovely. I was there with friends (a group of 12) for 5 days and it was there perfect amount of time. We did 4...

We just loved our time at Kapama Buffalo Camp! We spent three idyllic nights there and because of our brilliant guide, Jeffrey and tracker , Ian, managed to see the ' Big Five' . We leaned so much about the bush, the ' little five' and so much more. Dinners around the fire ( boma) were incredible with real homemade...

The lodge is superb and very intimate, the staff is warm and exteremely kind and the reserve is fantastic. We saw the big 5 after 2 safaris and felt totally secure and respectful of the incredible nature surrounding us. The experience is unforgettable!

I just cant say enough about this camp. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, we had nothing but top notch service. The accommodations will blow you away. This beats out any five star hotel. The tents are large, and you feel as if you are in a luxury suite. The rooms have full decks on the...

A boutique type of resort, peaceful and quiet (only 20 guests). The luxurious "tents" are very comfortable. Friendly and relaxed staff, with lots of humour. The safari starts already on the way from the airport with the jeep - you immediately see girafes and zebras on the way. Great ! Food is not the finest but wine selection (all inclusive)...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.Ten luxury build canvas tents, each sleeping two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden walkways interconnect the rooms, which are all in the upper reaches of tall riverine trees. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are seen daily walking along the sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, low impact climate control, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. The communal areas of Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambience particular to Buffalo Camp. With a maximum of 20 guests at Buffalo Camp, special attention is paid to personal service and the staff become like friends. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush. ... more   less
