The staff here was beyond exceptional. The accommodations, food, and game drives all far exceeded expectations. Our guide, Given, had an encyclopedic knowledge of the land and animals, and sense of humor that made the safari drives much more than just "sight seeing". It was a truly unique and genuine experience. My only wish is that we had spent more than just two nights here.

I stayed at Greenfire Game Lodge for two nights in late August 2021. The hospitality was second to none. Each and every staff member anticipated our every need and even some wants we didn’t know we had. The food was absolutely delicious and quite plentiful. The snacks and drinks at sunset out in the bush were a nice addition. The temperature varied 40 degrees Fahrenheit during our stay, so layers were a must. Blankets and binoculars were available for the game drives as needed. Our game driver/guide, Given, has extensive knowledge about the African bush and all that live in it. His sense of humor, regard for the animals and the land, and dedication to our experience made for an unforgettable trip. I cannot recommend Greenfire Game lodge enough. Had we known how wonderful this place was, we’d have likely stayed here for the duration our trip to South Africa.

Spent 5 wonderful nights at Greenfire Lodge. Staff were outstanding and always went the extra mile for us. Food was delicious and plentiful. Game was sparse but we saw everything that one would want to see. Victor was a great guide and had a wonderful sense of humour. Thanks Adrian and team.

We had a splendid time and met extremely attentive, charming and friendly people. Our guide knew the animals and the best places to meet them - we had great moments! Transports from Johannesburg and back were perfectly arranged. But self-drivers are also welcome. 2 safaris per day: one in the early morning after morning coffee, one in the late afternoon after a little nap after lunch. Perfect timing to watch the animals. Greenfire Lodge respects nature, protects the animals and plants and uses nature friendly technical gadgets to offer an absolutely perfect stay to its guests. Amazing performance ! We were speachless to have such a modern bathroom /toilet and european comfort in the middle of nowhere. Chapeau Adrian, Kim and all the staff ! We appreciated a lot to get some information about the problems the lodges have to deal with - the owners work very hard for the best to offer to their guests. Electricity is a general South African problem that all lodges/hotels have to handle. A shut down never lasts long - take it in a romantic way and go to bed earlier :-)😀 Food was delicious, drinks nice and cool and our 2 chalets were always perfectly cleaned. We felt 100% well and we loved what we were offered. Our guide could give us a lot of information about Balule and its animals and we got another view of how precious this nature is. Thank you all for this amazing experience !

From the moment Victor met us at the airport and drove us in to the middle of the bush in the game drive truck, we knew this was a great choice. John and Amy, Given our guide and even Ben and Pepper (the trusty guard dogs) made us feel like part of the family. The main lodge is beautiful and very welcoming and our private room was even more stunning than the photos, with full views over the riverbed and passing wildlife. The pool which has another viewing deck, was a welcome relief on the warm days. All of our meals were fresh, delicious and plentiful, so thank you to the chef who also made vegetarian dishes for my daughter each day. A special thank you to Given who knows everything there is to know about the nature reserve and the animals, and made our game drives exciting, informative and fun. Seeing such a variety of wildlife on every game drive really is a dream come true. I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough and hopefully next time we can stay longer than 3 nights. Everything was perfect and all of the staff are amazing. JUST DO IT!
