We had an absolutely amazing stay at Nyala! The entire staff there just blew us away. The attention to detail, knowledge, and overall experience we had was incredible. The chef was truly a genius - the meals she did with extra special attention to dairy free was way beyond what we had expected. I know Our dairy free guest appreciated being able to eat the same as everyone else - and the dishes were flavorful and unique (we haven’t gotten the level of food for dairy free at the other places we’ve stayed). Nicholle was an amazing guide full of knowledge -and Polite was absolutely amazing as well, again everyone going way beyond our expectations, making our stay incredible!
Although it takes longer than we thought from the entrance gate to to the lodge, your safari with game ranger starts from the gate. Once you arrive at the lodge the setting is amazing with a view over the river bed with the mountains in the distance. Sunsets to die for!!. Warm welcome by a team ready to serve your every need. We are going back hopefully in a few months time. Highly recommended.
Amazing experience! We saw a ton of animals each drive. Chrystal was an Fantastic and knowledgeable guide. We could not have asked for a better safari experience. The food was Phenomenal. That was very surprising for being in the bush. The compound itself at Nyala Sands was beautiful. A hyena walked right by our fire pit one night. We did a lot of research and are so happy we chose Nyala. We hope to come back one day with our extended family
We really enjoyed our stay at Nyala. The staff is very friendly and you are truly treated like royalty. Very neat and tidy luxurious living. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a secluded break-away in the bush with friends/family
Loved our rooms--Individual rondevals for guests, each with indoor and outdoor showers. Spotless and cleaned daily. Turn down service in the evenings was lovely. Fantastic food prepared to your liking. Very personal attention. Drives were interesting and exciting. We saw elephants, giraffes, lions (We heard them roaring each night.) and so much more. Even a black mamba stood up to greet us. Our guide knew everything we asked, which included birds, insects, plants and trees. All in all we had a great time!
We stayed at Nyala Safari lodge for 5 nights in December. Brilliant location and our guide Christelle managed to show us the big 5 on amazing game drives - and one of our best Leopard sightings to date Will definitely be back
We were lucky enough to spend 3 nights over Christmas at the lodge, 1 of those nights we celebrated our wedding with close family and friends. We booked out the whole lodge on a self catering basis, although staff were there to help us wherever we needed. Everything about Nyala is just magic! We were welcomed with open arms by friendly and warm staff, all of which were so eager and happy to help during the entirety of our stay. Mangers, Nicki and Dave, were just out of this world! I don’t think our wedding could have happened without them. They went out of their way for us from beginning to end. Izaan, our guide, was just fabulous! She was so lovely, so knowledgable, flexible and helpful. Our game drives were incredibly entertaining with her and we were so lucky to share some incredible animal encounters. We will DEFINITELY be back!…
We were able to spend several nights at Nyala and we loved it. The food, staff and game viewing were all excellent. The lodge itself is an oasis in the middle of the winter. Saw plenty of game, including the Big 5 in one afternoon. also saw the tusker Ezluwini. The rondavals were spacious and the bathrooms were huge with double sinks and both indoor and outdoor showers. Sheets pillows and towels all wonderful. Would happily return any time.
The house is beautiful and perfectly located. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfy. We loved the separate lounge and dining room inside the house. The kitchen is spacious and a 'lekker' gathering place while making meals. The pool is beautiful. The deck area is spacious, all the chairs are comfortable and the cast iron fire cauldron amplifies the ambience. One special house! Kari and staff were very friendly in welcoming us with drinks and champagne on our arrival. Our Game Ranger, Izaan was a super star and very caring. Our stay was truly memorable. Josh, Tess and friends
We stayed at Nyala for a week in November, I can genuinely say this was my favourite ever holiday. The staff, food, and rooms are all perfect. We got engaged while we were there, and the staff made the whole experience even more perfect. Nikki our tour guide, was the most knowledgeable and wonderful person - she felt like a friend by the end of the week! Having one tour guide for the whole week was amazing, she went out of our way to make sure we had the best experience we could. We managed to see 4 of the big five, including lions mating just 10 minutes away from camp which was the perfect end to our trip. When we come back to South Africa we'll definitely visit again! Thank you all for the most amazing experience!
