The food varies from night to night. Each day we were there there was a different dish (pork, chicken, beef, springbok, etc) plenty of options for vegetarians as well if you are one. There are monkeys on site but if you keep your tent zipped up as should, then there are no problems. No boats or anything like that. We did have an elephant come up to the watering hole which was amazing!
