Off the beaten path into Africa. ALL the services and accommodations were wonderful. It has an authentic Bush Camp feel that is mixed Game Lodge. The place is outside the typical overrun tourist destination. We really enjoyed the quiet and peaceful environment. We are so glad to find an original type of place. Once in a lifetime experience. The Staff, GM and Ranger did an outstanding job helping us during our stay! Thank you for a great stay.

Really nice lodge! Very quaint and relaxing! Not too fancy, but quite romantic and simple. Not a lot of guests at one time, so it has a very private feel! Really wonderful! We stayed as a family. It was great and they accommodated us very well! I'd go back for my anniversary next time.

Be prepared for a very rustic adventure if you've booked the Shalati Lodge. For the price that we've paid, it offers exactly what it promises - a fuss-free place to stay in to view the amazingly beautiful animals and birds of the Kruger and Great Kruger National Parks (namely Manyeleti Game Reserve). Other lodges in the Manyeleti Reserve charge more than 10-30 times what the Shalati charges. Hence, please do not arrive here expecting anything more than just the basics - a small and clean room to sleep in (mosquito nets provided), a simple shower which has hot water (an added bonus!), a wash basin and a toilet. There is a homey area near the reception / bar where we like to hang out just before dinner, with comfy sofas and a cute little dog who loves to be around the lodge's

This very basic place is in the middle of the bush, next door to the Manyeleti private game reserve, and linked to the local community. The negatives, as listed in earlier reviews: the chalets are very small (almost completely filled by a double bed), the water can smell terrible. Bring your own. The positives: there's a nice dog. But more importantly: the staff is friendly and helpful, the food is home cooked and much, much tastier and comfy than the tourist fare served up in the parks. Ask for recipes. And, most important: we had two great game drives, spotting three of the Big Five and coming up close to elephants and a lion stealthily following a herd of buffalo. This all thanks to one of Shalati's great driver/guides, who was incredibly adept at driving off-road - an

I was on a photography tour with G Adventures in May, 2014 and part of this tour was a 3 night stay at this lodge. We arrived to the lodge just before dinner time and the two nice ladies who greeted us at the lodge were there every morning and every evening to greet us from the car (don't know how they knew when we arrived each time). The huts were very cute and comfortable. The food was so so good, like a home cooked meal. The stay was very enjoyable and I would do this again for sure.
