We celebrated our father's 80th with the entire family for 4 days the past weekend and Tintswalo went out of their way to help us make it as special as possible. The team treated us like royalty and between arranging special treats, bush dinners, bush breakfasts, etc. they made our celebrations extra special and unforgettable.
This was the best trip me and my partner ever had. We got to experience the best "first" Safari. From checking in, the Food, the Safari drives, the room, and the service, all was excellent. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to explore nature to come to Tintswalo Safari Lodge!
From the moment we arrived we felt genuinely welcome! We traveled with our daughter & her husband and we stayed in Baines Presidential Suite. It was beautiful and perfect for us! We were very fortunate to have Alistair as our Ranger (He's also the Regional Manager) and Foster (Fozzy) as our tracker. The 2 of them were a great team! We had great sightings and even when we weren't actively tracking something we were still having a great time with them. All of the staff we encountered at Tintswalo made it clear to us how happy they were to have us there. And as they say, we came as guests but left as family.
We stayed in the Baker suite and from the minute we arrived until the moment we left the level of service was unreal. There was one really minor issue they handled immediately and took very serious even though it was nothing major. You are made feel welcome from when you arrive and they take care of absolutely everything. You can simply relax and enjoy the stunning lodge. Their guides and trackers are a treat and very knowledgeable. There were lots of special touches that I won't go into otherwise I will spoil the surprise, but it is so unexpected and makes the experience more magical. They even went to far as to escorting us to the gate when we needed to go to another lodge in the area and had to use another gate to make sure we didn't get lost.
It is such a cool and relaxed vibe all around. The food was excellent (thank you Chef Ayanda) and meals were pleasant and relaxed (Thank you Ms. Thuli). All staff were very friendly and kind to my boys which is a big part of what makes a family vacation truly wonderful (thank you Demi and team). Our suite was exquisitely decorated and very comfortable (and clean. Thank you Ms. Juliet). Game viewing both at the lodge and on drives was very good and great fun. Our ranger and tracker were knowledgeable, patient and very kind (Thank you Roland and Ntsako). There were some activities away from the lodge but with our short stay, we didn't want to leave for a day but given the experience, I expect they would be well thought out with every need anticipated. The drive from Joburg was just about 6 hours. I strongly recommend one drives through Dullstroom as the road is mich better that way and Dullstroom is a good place to break the drive if 6 hours at a go seems intolerable. We will go back Tintswalo Safari over and over again. …
