#6 of 40 in Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Travellers' Choice
Notten’s Bush Camp is a jewel within the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Mpumalanga, which means “the land of the rising sun” in the locally spoken language, Shangaan. Notten’s is an exclusive and private safari lodge personally run by the Notten family. This beautiful, intimate safari lodge is situated within one of South Africa’s finest natural sanctuaries the Sabi Sand Reserve and Greater Kruger National Park. It is a destination that will truly touch your heart and soul. Each private suite is elegantly styled, spacious and cooled by ceiling fans. A magical atmosphere is created with the purposeful absence of electric lighting; the ambient candlelight and lanterns capturing an enchanting spirit of romance. With splendid panoramic views, this private game lodge is the perfect place for peace and relaxation while watching animals meander past.

We had the pleasure of visiting Notten’s Bush Camp on a family trip recently and already look forward to the next one! The location is spectacular, set in the renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve, a more authentic Safari experience, you will not find. Everything was outstanding- the food, the game viewing, the setting, the staff and hospitality but best of all is sitting under the stars with the little electricity taking in the magic. Many thanks to all for making our trip as fantastic as it was! Ps Our Ranger Tom is in a league of his own... spectacular sightings with the highlight being a leopard right next to us!

A beautiful, relaxed camp in the heart of the bush. The game drives were out of this world. We were treated to amazing sightings. The staff were absolutely delightful and so super friendly! Meals were absolutely delicious. Just the best time! Thank you.

We have just spent 3 nights at Notten’s with good friends!! What an amazing time we had! Stunning accommodation and friendly staff. The game rangers were very knowledgeable and everyone went all out to make our stay memorable! We saw incredible sightings, including wild dog(watched them kill a scrub hare), lion and leopard. Thank you Nottens! We will be back!! Brad and Avon Barker

We have just returned from a 3 night trip to Nottens. We had the most amazing time with good friends. The camp is fantastic, the staff are all amazing and we loved every minute. This is a real hidden gem in the Sabi Sands. The staff bent over backwards for us. Nothing was too much hassle. The game viewing was second to none and the food was absolutely divine. We will certainly be back!! Mike Yates

This was our first camp on our fourth African safari trip, and we loved being here. I was a bit concerned because reviews/reports said there is no electricity and I have an oxygen concentrator that requires power to charge batteries, etc. However, there is now power beside for charging whatever needs it so, happily, no issue. The camp is certainly lovely as are the people, the food is delicious, and how many places allow one to view wildlife from the open air common area? The resident vervet monkeys are hysterical to watch, though staff would rather they not be forever trying to steal food. I took one of my favorite photos of the entire safari trip when one visited our room. The gardens are lovely too, though they suffered considerably when an elephant visited camp during

Boy, did we have a good time! we'd booked this a long way in advance as part of our three weeks South African extravaganza, flew to Jo'burg then transferred by internal flight to Skikuza from where a Nottens Bush ranger with jeep transferred us the hour or so journey to the camp. just the passage of the transfer saw us enjoying wildlife sights like never before and the driver/guide/ranger was only too pleased to dally and point out the animals and sights. We were still reeling from our overnight international flight and internal transfer when we got to the camp so declined the welcome drinks and got straight to our lodge accommodation which was excellent and exceeded expectations in so many ways: big room, big bed, big bathroom, low tech for sure but some electric lighting and

Nottens Bush is a beautiful and luxurious camp with an endless supply of food and drink and the nicest possible staff. We were lucky to be looked after by Solani, Suzzie & Desmond who made sure we had everything we needed. The wildlife is the star, however, and we got close to so many animals - I don't think we will forget the sight - and smell - of four lions devouring a buffalo for a long time. But we didn't have to leave the camp to see elephants, hyenas and zebras as the view from our lodge and from the dining room was like a wildlife documentary. Our ranger, Chaes, was full of knowledge and made each drive, as well as the bush walk, a great and fun experience for everyone. Gideon, as well as pouring the best gin & tonic in the Kruger area, was a brilliant tracker with an

We had a wonderful stay at Notten's Bush Camp for three days. The location just in the center of the wild life park is just magic. The guides and trackers are excellent with a deep knowledge of the wildlife in the area. The camp has a great atmosphere from room to food, just a lovely place we would absolutely want to recommend.

My Wife and visited Nottens in January. our fourth visit, and once again absolutely amazing stay. Nottens is a magical safari experience, the camp itself is great fun, allowing guests to relax during the day after the morning game drive, and before the evening experience. lovely helpful staff, and the guides and trackers are something special. great guys really wanting to give the guests those unforgettable memories, which for us with African painted dog, leopards, lions made it all very special. and the bush breakfast, what fun. Thank you everyone. Jack and Linda

The people, the facilities, the food and drink, the ambience and the game were almost perfection. We have never, in 5 camps over the years, had such caring, generous, kindly and helpful people. Dale was the consummate host; always asking if we lacked anything or needed another drink, another type of drink or anything at all. The main cabin and our wonderful, romantic room enticed one to stay forever. The food was over the top in quality and quantity. We were kept busy with game drives, so regretfully only used the large, beautiful pool once. Here we saw our 1st white rhino in the wild and our tracker and guide managed to find pretty well everything else we had hoped for. Notten's now, I believe in everyone of the cabins, has air conditioning; our #1 certainly did. We knew that
