Notten’s Bush Camp is a jewel within the heart of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Mpumalanga, which means “the land of the rising sun” in the locally spoken language, Shangaan. Notten’s is an exclusive and private safari lodge personally run by the Notten family. This beautiful, intimate safari lodge is situated within one of South Africa’s finest natural sanctuaries the Sabi Sand Reserve and Greater Kruger National Park. It is a destination that will truly touch your heart and soul. Each private suite is elegantly styled, spacious and cooled by ceiling fans. A magical atmosphere is created with the purposeful absence of electric lighting; the ambient candlelight and lanterns capturing an enchanting spirit of romance. With splendid panoramic views, this private game lodge is the perfect place for peace and relaxation while watching animals meander past.

Our stay at Notten's Bush Camp was memorable from time of collection from the Airport. We spent 3 days enjoying Notten's fabulous hospitality, twice daily game drives, delicious food and extremely comfortable accommodation in the most beautiful setting. Our game driver Jeffrey was very knowledgeable, and he found us the Big 5 on our very first drive! He also made an excellent Gin & tonic at sunset! All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It was the extra touches, like coming home from a game drive to a waiting hot bath, mingling with the owners and other guests that made this small lodge so wonderful. I would thoroughly recommend Notten's Bush Camp for a Sabi Sands adventure.

We spent 4 beautiful days and nights at Notten’s Camp in Sabi Sands. The staff at Notten’s is amazing starting with the owner, Dave, along with managers, Dale and Jan. The whole crew from our arrival until we left were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We have so many special memories from our stay there. The best part of Notten’s Camp for us was the feeling that we were staying with family there. One thing to consider when selecting a safari lodge is the size of the lodge. Notten’s is the perfect size camp with 9 rooms facing the bush from the veranda in your room. It was a wonderful experience waking to the sounds of birds and animals in the bush. Each room is beautifully decorated suite and very comfortable. The food and drinks included with the camp were

We stayed 3 nights but could have stayed forever.A beautiful camp with wonderful staff who made you feel at home. The accommodation was huge and the gardens and pool area well maintained and very inviting. Game drives were exciting and you certainly got to experience off road. Our guides were very knowledgeable and Tinyoko was very entertaining. All meals were a pleasure to have and no one went hungry.A highlight was the owners’ Rhodesian Ridgebacks coming to visit one afternoon and jumping straight into the fish pond. Having had this breed ourselves it was a joy to behold. The ambience of the place with oil lamps and candles is amazing and just added to the adventure. Our time here will be a lifetime memory.

I am a little late to review this but this is the best lodge I have ever stayed at. So beautiful and cozy. The game viewing was amazing as well. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to visit the area. The food was excellent as well. There is not enough good things I can say about my visit.

I stayed at Notten’s for 4 nights as a solo traveller and everyone at camp were wonderful and welcoming. My “tent” was very spacious and had amazing views - I could see elephants, kudu, giraffe, hornbills etc while sitting on the terrace. I think the sun room (where meals are served) would be my favourite thing: such attention to detail and the way the staff transformed the room between meals was amazing. Especially the candles at dinner… beautiful. And again - absolutely loved the staff, they made me feel super welcome. The reason for 4/5 is that I feel the game drive part could be improved. There were times I was a bit uncomfortable around my guide. When I joined the car, he did not introduce himself or go through any rules etc for the drives. Even though I’m not a first time

This was a family reunion to celebrate a special birthday. Staff were amazing, food delicious and rangers wonderful. It is a truly wonderful place and I cannot thank the staff enough for an unforgettable experience. The game drives were amazing and we saw lots of animals, especially leopards, my personal favorite. You won’t be disappointed.

We were met at the entrance by friendly staff and shown to our (simply huge) and generous accommodation. Our room was beautifully furnished and fully equipped. A nice touch was the bountiful supply of snacks, bottled water and the range of hot drink options available. The restaurant and bar were staffed by efficient and friendly staff. The food served over the three days of our stay was top notch and delicious; consistently to a very high standard. The spa offered a comprehensive range of services (albeit as an extra charge). We sampled the massage on offer and found the masseuse very capable. Turning to the safari drives; we were treated to amazing encounters with the wildlife within the greater Kruger park, seeing and enjoying the big five within hours. Our guides were

This was our third stay at Notten's. You will always find lovely staff, top quality accommodations, delicious food, and talented rangers. Each day is a surprise. We have previously stayed in the dry season, when viewing is easier- this time was the lush season, and while it was more difficult to find the animals, we had some spectacular sightings. Plus, the bush is so beautiful in March! It was warm for swimming too. We will be back, God willing.

Trip Advisor Review: We were lucky enough to spend 3 days and 4 nights at the Nottens Bush Lodge. It is an authentic bush lodge experience in the heart of Sabi Sands. This is a family run camp with extraordinary attention to detail in every way! It’s down to earth luxury, the love and care with which every single person at the camp shows creates a feeling of wonder and amazement. There were surprises for the guests, the drivers and spotters are outstanding and take the time to explain and point out everything from the foliage, to birds, to animals to African culture and are always willing to stop and let you take as many pictures as you want. The cabins are gorgeous!!! So comfortable each with a private deck overlooking the bush - today an elephant family came to visit while we

Notten's by far exceeded our expectations. The staff could not have been friendlier. The attention to detail was awesome. Food was plentiful and spectacular. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. Having a Bush Camp with only 9 cottages allows for the best service and attention. Not too many guests and not too little. This allowed for an ease in getting to relate with the other guests but there is no forcing of this as well. The guides were excellent and so accommodating to find the animals we wanted to see, and meet the expectation of everyone in the LandRover. Having a workout facility on site helped to wear off the calories of constantly being fed wonderful food ! 100% I would return and have no concerns about taking our business anywhere else What a jewel in the
