We had the best experience at Dulini River! Our stay was for a week at the end of May / early June, and it could not have been more perfect. Everyone at the resort was so welcoming and friendly, and they went out of their way to make this a special trip. One of the days we were there was also my husband's birthday, and they knew we had booked this trip originally for my birthday (but had to push it back to these dates). That evening, they surprised us by hosting a 5-course meal in our room (including a birthday cake with candles), and they had completely decorated the room with candles everywhere, as well as gave us a few gifts. We were blown away! This place and the service exceeded our expectations, and we are telling all our friends about it! Special shout out to Fred and Tyrone who made sure we saw every animal we wanted to see and they were also so much fun to game drive with! We also enjoyed getting to know some of the other staff, like our butler, Sipho was so wonderful and friendly, our night porter, Jabu, who made sure we always got safely to our room each night, and Emma and Monique who made sure every detail for our trip was perfect, and even helped arrange the return flight covid tests at the lodge to make it convenient. We wished we could have stayed here longer, but we look forward to the next time we can enjoy this beautiful, perfect place!

Our recent trip with Kanyezi Africa Safaris was a bit unusual. We had started our adventure with a tour of the beautiful Cape Town area in March 2020, but were forced home early due to US restrictions to travel on account of Covid-19. Our experience with owner (and our tour guide) Chris, along with top-notch accommodations and personal attention, made us determined to return for the missing safari part of our planned vacation when it was possible again. That turned out to be nearly two years later. Our already high expectations were exceeded by our stay at Dulini River Lodge under the auspices of Kanyezi. The lodge’s setting, overlooking a beautiful river valley with frequent animal sightings, was hard to beat. Each room was actually a separate villa with comfortable and spacious lounging and sleeping quarters, bathing area with soaking tub and walk-in shower, and riverfront deck with plunge pool and outdoor shower. Food was creative, varied and more than ample. Our twice-daily game drives brought us in remarkably close proximity to all the legendary animals we had hoped to see – and a few more – in their natural habitat, behaving naturally if occasionally surprisingly. We were delighted to be the first group in two years to visit the local village where so many of the staff called home, to meet with groups of children and enjoy an impressive performance by the young people’s choir. Kudos to Chris for making it happen for us. What really made the trip for us was the wonderful Dulini staff. Without exception, they were caring and competent, eager to take care of whatever we needed or wanted. Special mention should be made of our ranger Mac and tracker Prince, who seemed to have an almost telepathic ability to communicate the best routes and locations of the sometimes-elusive wildlife. Mac’s ability to multitask the challenging off-road driving, radio contact with other rangers, game-finding, and explanations to us was quite remarkable. We were also expertly catered to in the lodge by Sipho, our butler. Many thanks to all for making our stay so special!

Thanks to everyone for a wonderful experience. Beautiful place, wonderful staff. We have been to many lodges and game parks, but this has been the best. From the time we arrived we were treated by extremely friendly and hospitable staff, and that continued through out our stay. The wildlife sightings was amazing and we also witnessed a leopard and 2 hyenas fighting over a kill, which was a first for us.

What a fantastic experience! We stayed at Dulini River lodge with our three young children for two nights. We were blown away by the friendly staff, STUNNING setting, brilliant wine selection en delicious food. We had our own dedicated ranger and tracker team, guiding us through the many wonders of the pristine Sabi Sand reserve. Their skill allowed us to get up close to several leopard, as well as seeing the big five in abundance. All in all a terrific safari experience.

We just recently returned from South Africa; we spent three nights at Dulini River Lodge. Everything about the resort was first class, from the moment we arrived and was greeted by Monique. Our butler Positive took excellent care of our family and was such a great person to come back to after either an early morning or late afternoon safari. The rooms were impressive, clean and well appointed. Our guide Observe and ranger Mora were amazing - we got to see far more than we could have hoped - big male lions, the pride, multiple leopard, one with cubs. Spent a lot of time with elephants, giraffe, wild dogs, hyena, etc etc. Mora was really passionate about birds and plants, and super excited when she spotted a dwarf bittern (I'd never heard of one). Anyway, we stayed at three different resorts/camps while in Africa and this was hands down the best one we were at.

What a truly outstanding experience in the most beautiful of locations. Our gorgeous spacious suite (with a super plunge pool) looked onto a small river where a variety of wildlife came to visit, including a leopard just off our deck one afternoon. Talk about a WOW moment. The staff are top rate and the covid precautions excellent. All staff vaccinated. We were also able to have all our wonderful meals set up in our room for private dining by our great butler Andy. It was nice to know that any surplus food was always given to the local residents. And then there were the game drives. INCREDIBLE. We had upgraded to private drives and were able to continue with our DREAM TEAM of Rangers Dave and Tim who had looked after us at Dulini Moya lodge where we had just come from. These two were beyond brilliant - classy, knowledgeable and fun and gave us the most amazing sightings including a leopard coming down from a tree and a baby leopard chasing a squirrel up a tree. They also found us a newly born baby elephant and we could watch its first staggers with mom. The wonderful encounters kept coming, especially with the large number of leopard in the area. We were so sad to leave. We travel a lot but this was a trip of a lifetime. Thank you Monique and all at Dulini River for your quality and style. We will never forget these days.

Like any place, no matter how beautiful, the staff can make or break what would be an otherwise wonderful experience. The staff at Dulini went above and beyond at every step of the way — they absolutely made our trip! The game drives were amazing and our ranger Mack and tracker prince were great. We saw some awesome stuff including two leopards going at it for a territory battle. We also saw a leopard stroll through camp during lunch! How awesome. The food is incredible—I can understand the reviews here that it’s “a lot” in presentation and complexity but one thing for sure is the food is absolutely delicious. Lastly, for any oenophiles that love wine — the wine cellar here is epic. They have something like 96 of the top 100 wines in South Africa. You have to purchase these on top of the inclusive package but it was well worth it for us. Thank you for a great trip Dulini!

Dulini River Lodge is located on the bank of the Sand River in the Sabi Sand, and is a wonderful place to stay for your safari vacation. The property is quite beautiful and they share traverse with other western properties, which means that you get plenty of great land and animals and sightings to experience. River Lodge itself is really pretty and airy and beautifully sited on the river. Our room was huge with a large outside deck and spacious interior. Large bathroom with tub and shower and nice comfortable sitting area. The decor was light and African-modern, which was very pleasant. The staff at the lodge were friendly and helpful and accommodating. Our guide was Fred, tracker Tyron, both of whom were excellent, cheerful and fun, in addition to being well-trained and sensitive to the animals in the bush. The meals are abundant and interesting....dinner was maybe just a bit too "interesting"....while I am sure that some guests are real gourmands, I actually appreciate much simpler, but delicious foods and service, especially at the end of a long day of being out in the bush. And I do suggest that they offer a bit more of a quick tea/snack service right before the afternoon drive, although I know that many guests have already had a full late brunch and a full lunch too! The lodge staff did pack up and bring out a picnic lunch to us one afternoon while we did a full day drive and that was wonderful! Overall, we had a great time at Dulini and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone!
