Our stay at the Sabi Sabi Earth lodge was on our bucket list. It supassed our expectations.
Their personnel is trully comitted to making your stay unforgetable. Their daily safaris with your assigned tracker and driver make your experience very unique and personal because your great a great bond with them
and the opportunity to have dinner lets you
have a nice cultural exchange with them. They are experts and trully knowledgable. Their love for the preservation of wildlife is their mission.

The rooms intergrate with the surroundings and their common areas celebrate the Kruger Reserve. Attention to detail and intergrating nature in their decoration was really unique.
We purchased an all inclusive package with included spirits and liquors. The bartender / sommelier created great cocktails for us to savor and presented local wines with great honor. The chef everyday took time to present his menu and offer suggestions. Everything was delicious. A Michelin star for him !!
My respects to the general manager, for the
continued success of this tribute to nature.

Spent four nights there while on South African safari trip in November 2018 (when did you travel option below had limited dates to choose from). Suites were gorgeous and very spacious. Each suite came with indoor and outdoor showers and outdoor soaking pool, while overlooking the nearby pond where animals would come every afternoon/evening to cool down and drink some water. Really wonderful food, accommodating staff and wonderfully natural location.

We have never had an experience like we had here and we never will again. We came here for our honeymoon, it was a well reviewed place that really looked like heaven but unfortunately was just not in our price range. Two wedding postponements during COVID later and we were able to save up a bit more than we planned and we took the plunge. At the time it almost felt irresponsible to do it, but looking back at it now, not only was it one of the best decisions that we've ever made, but it's something I'd regret so heavily if I knew what I knew now. Faith and Tanya were great helping us set it up and giving us all the information we would want and more. The hospitality shown here is unreal. From airport pick up we felt like we were relatives and yet royalty here. The food was outstanding, it all tasted so good, and the drinks were mixed great (and always extra effort to get certain ingredients, etc if we were feeling for something different). The servers and food staff were more like a family that we just felt were with us the whole time. We ate at a different location for almost every meal, always something new. The rooms and the grounds of the property were unbelievable, 10 stars, walking past a giraffe to get to breakfast, sitting in a hot tub looking out at a Kudu, seriously. Awesome plunge pool in the bush, the room itself was so relaxing and cool in the A/C. The whole place was innovative and we didn't want to leave. The spa was great and we had the best massage we ever had there and I somehow got convinced to get a pedicure which was actually enjoyable. They also helped us with COVID testing needed to get there and leave and made it seamless. It also just put you in a mood, it really changed us and our outlook to truly disconnect, idk it was unbelievable. We met some really cool people there too that we spent our safari's with, the guides I felt like helped pull us together and really made some cool friendships. The safaris were out of this world, we saw at least 30 different animals, including the big five and many more, different birds, insects, etc, almost always fun, sometimes exhilarating, sometimes peaceful, often very informative while also letting you just take it in, masters of their craft. They had surprises set aside for us at a few turns, and they had so much attention to detail throughout our whole stay. Also it was authentic, they aren't tagging animals, they aren't starving for pictures (we had to take some though I mean), it's a preserve and they mean it. There's no crowding of cars we had two jeeps max (it's not a jeep, it's a comfortable tour like jeep bus that was comfortable and made viewing easy). It was the most memorable time we have ever had, and we now have vowed that we will be sure to go back one day. A special thank you to Lazarus, Patrick, Goodness, Dumisani, Tswarelo, Simon, Joanna, Bongi, Louis, Innocent, Alta, and anyone's name we forgot; there wasn't a better group that could have been made. Lazarus had my wife in tears leaving because it was just so special and he was so great.

From start to finish everything about our experience at Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge was spectacular. Each room is a stand alone structure that is built in to be integrated with the naturalness of the landscape. The interior is extremely large and luxurious. The highlight though are the picture windows overlooking your own plunge pool and the watering hole beyond where you never know what animals you will spot. On our arrival we had an elephant right in front of our room, and upon our departure we had a herd of elephants walking right by! The food is excellent and abundant, and the safari guide and tracker were wonderful - their enthusiasm and passion for what they do was clear from the start - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

There really aren’t enough superlatives to describe Sabi Sabi. From the moment our knowledgeable guide, Vivianne, collected us from the small local airstrip, we were made to feel welcomed and part of the Sabi Sabi family.
Your adventure starts on the drive to the Lodge as you start to spot the abundance of wildlife in the area. The Lodge is nestled into the hillside, as are your rooms. The rooms are luxurious with every comfort you need, and more you didn’t know you needed. The rooms come with complimentary maxi bar, bubbly on arrival, your own pool and magnificent views. They never stop providing beautifully prepared meals and snacks, and the sundowners during your afternoon drive are a special treat. All the staff take the time and care to know you and our Guide and spotter, ensured they tailored the game drives to our particular wildlife interests. We were thrilled to see a leopard within 10 mins of going out on our first drive, and lucky enough to see the Big 5. The dining experience is kept fresh, you can even sit with your feet in a pool and eat your lunch.
Loved everything about this special place and was very sad to leave.

From the moment we arrived at the lodge, we felt like a mix of royalty and new members of the family! Pieter was so kind, assisting us with detours before we even got there to welcoming with a smile and excitement when we finally arrived. We were there introduced to the rest of the team! Goodness, was absolutely incredible and warm, she made us feel right at home. Lucy was so kind and welcoming, ready to take care of our every need! Tshwarelo sparking conversation with us and getting us ready for the rest of the stay! You are all so amazing!

We sat down for a delicious breakfast and some mimosas and enjoyed the views of the bush, a huge bull elephant only a few feet away from our table and the sounds of hippos in the watering hole about 100m away! Sublime!

Next up, our villa! ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!
Well lit, soooo spacious, modern touches but earthy at the same time! We loved it all. One of the best parts, where we spent our afternoons, was the patio and pool! What a treat!

We had all our lunches in our villa, we just couldn't leave! And I'll mention this, the food is delicious and abundant! We probably picked up a kg or two! But so worth it!
Our first dinner was in the boma, a truly unique eating and hearing distant animal calls. We loved that the chef came out and introduced herself and the menu! On our second evening there, we arrived from our game drive and were surprised with a private dinner in the Wine Cellar! Absolutely beautiful! All our meals were absolutely delicious! They definitely chose the best brigade to keep us fed. Thank you to the team in the kitchen!

This trip wouldn't have been as amazing without our incredible Guide and Tracker, Lazarus and Louis. They made us feel so safe, educated us, answered all our questions and most importantly did all they could to find all the animals we wanted to see, and more! We were so excited for all our game drives, we even woke up before the 05:30 morning calls.

All in all, this lodge is a dream! We were absolutely shattered to leave! We could have easily spent a few more days with the family.
Its an easy 5 hour drive from Johannesburg, the perfect weekend away (or more). Just being at the lodge was such an experience. Simply knowing that any animal could walk past, or looking around on the way to the villa was such a thrill! We bumped into an elephant on the first day while walking to the main area for our game drive! He was too busy eating to even notice us, but still, Amazing!

Thank you to everybody involved in making our stay a dream come true! We are so grateful!

We were absolutely blown away by the sheer luxury, service, food, game sightings and SUITES at this lodge. The shared spaces are well designed and styled, the suite spaces are stunning with their own pool, extra large and very comfy bed and seating area. Our guide, jabu, was knowledgeable and entertaining. All staff deserve medals for service. Food is great (but heavy, with sauces but they will prepare anything you want). We spent 4 nights in luxury and recommend it highly.

Just completed a sublime 5-night safari stay at the Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge. In keeping with the overwhelmingly fabulous reviews, our stay was very close to perfect!
Ruan our ranger and guide was the consummate professional with a sure handed understanding of the surrounding 40+ square miles of bush. We spent 30 hours in his company over our 5 days at the Earth Lodge and he made the time fly by with laughter, stories, facts, and a vast knowledge of the animals as well as the bush environment.
Marcus, the General Manager, was inspiringly “hands-on” and ever present throughout the day and our entire stay.
Mercy, our primary chef, was amazing not only for reciting each evenings inventive and inspired dinner menu, in mouthwatering detail for every guest at each table, the food was simply and honestly fabulous every night.
The entire team at the Earth Lodge was welcoming from the start and delivered consistently flawless and warm personal service.
The service and high quality of food, furnishings and accommodation is even more mind boggling in view of the remote and perfect bush location of the Earth Lodge.
It was our first Safari and a celebration of our 30th anniversary. We have had the pleasure of staying in 5 stared accommodations around the globe for over 35 years, and the Earth Lodge is certainly in the top 5 of our best stays ever!

This is the best camp I have ever experienced. The rooms are air conditioned, you have your own large pool, bathtub and shower. They rangers and trackers are so diligent. They never give up and we saw the Big Five plus cheetah all in one day.
The service was personal and everything was delicious. They have a excellent spa which is nice after a bumpy game ride.

I organised a surprise trip for my husband's 40th birthday, and this included 2 nights at Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge. I truly cannot fault a thing in this lodge. The newly refurbished rooms are absolutely stunning - and huge! the whole lodge gives you a feel of understated luxury without being over the top.

The staff are all very friendly and professional, and always call you by your name, which is a lovely personal touch. The food was exceptional! We also dined in the cellar on our last night, which was a great experience. And on that note, their wine list is exceptional too!

I could not have asked for a better experience at this lodge and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to spoil themselves.

I'm not in the habit of tipping for services outside of restaurants bellhops, and Taxis. I'm of the mind that it is up to the employer to pay the employees, and if they need to raise their prices, then they need to do so.

Thank you very much for your enquiry. Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve is located in a low risk malaria area, and it is low risk all year round. The Lodge does take preventative measures, however we recommend you please consult with your medical practitioner or local Travel Doctor regarding advice on malaria prophylaxis and what options you have. The mosquitoes which do carry the malaria parasite are part of the Anopheles group. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information or assistance. Kind regards Jenna
