We spent three days here in January 2022. It's an exclusive use camp which is nice, just our family and friends.

For positives, no doubt the game drives. We saw multiple leopards every day. We saw an elephant chase away some lions. We had a lot of other amazing sightings. The game viewing was outstanding.

The flip side to that coin was that when we wanted to stop and observe a small colorful bird, it was clear to us that our guide was not interested in birds and was anxious to get to the next leopard. It sounds rediculous as I write it, but what can I say. I like birds and our guide didn't seem interested in them. It's all part of the customer service experience.

The food was good and plentiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Now this might seem petty, but I bring it up is because when you're paying a premium, you expect premium service, and at the time of our visit (7 months prior to this review), the front of the house staff seemed inexperienced.

One example: When we arrived at the house our host asked what I'd like to drink, I said, "sparkling water please". He replied, "I'm sorry, we don't have any this week." Now, at the prices you pay at a lodge like this, that was the wrong answer. Sperkling water is not an outragous request. To his credit, when I pushed back, he found some for me at a sister lodge, but had I not pushed, he wouldn't have tried.

Overall it was a wonderful trip with just a little lacking on the customer service side.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review of Jaci's Sabi House. We are indeed blessed with amazing game viewing, but at the same time like to give our guests a wholistic bush experience which encompasses all the facets of the bush, from birds to ecology. Our guide, Herbet, is extremely qualified and knowledgeable and usually prides himself in sharing all his bush knowledge with our guests. I will certainly reiterate to him that all the guests wants and desires need to be taken into account on a game drive and that birding is extremely high on some guests lists (mine too. by the way). I am glad that you pushed our staff to source sparkling water for you, as I agree that this is not a big ask and is expected at a lodge of the quality of Jaci's Sabi House, I really am at a loss as to why we didn't have any in stock during your visit as it is a standard item in our drinks fridge and can only apologize for the oversight. In May our front office team was bolstered by the arrival of a new front of house manager who brings a lot of experience and professionalism with him and I think that you will notice the professional approach to this function should you visit us again. Thank you once again for both staying at Jaci's Sabi House and for your review.

What an amazing lodge!! The staff are absolutely brilliant, the food is amazing (and it never stops) and the game viewing is exceptional. It's just like owning your own private safari lodge, you decide when to wake up, when to go out and when to stop on the game drives, everything was planned according to our wishes. What a treat! I couldn't imagine a better safari destination for families with children. We never had to tell them to keep quiet or worry about them on game drives as when you book you get the whole lodge to yourself. We'll be back.

Jaci's Sabi House offered a unique adventure for our small extended family group. Donald immediately greeted us with cool cloths following our drive in to the lodge as well as instructions for our stay. His professionalism kept things flowing smoothly for the duration of our stay. The one day my aunt stayed in during a game drive, she observed him cleaning floors and other services that impressed her so much.

We were greeted shortly thereafter with Chef Dimpho's high tea which set the stage for high culinary expectations for the rest of our stay, and she exceeded them every time. I was impressed by her level of training and love of food that shown through in every meal. My vegetarian options equalled or even exceeded the traditional dishes my other family members received. She was outstanding!

Nono and Nandi are the unseen heros of any stay at Jaci's Sabi House, as they cleaned the rooms and the dishes and so many other services that are not readily noticed because they are done so well and unobtrusively. These ladies are indeed impressive!

When it came to the game drives, driver Skhulile and tracker Christopher united to create a truly unique experience. Conditions worked out so that we saw the Big 5 within the first two hours of our first drive, something that is indeed rare. But they also showed us many other intriguing things in the bush, such as numerous birds, small chameleons in the dark (sharp eyes, Christopher!), and what the tracks on the ground could reveal. We had a blast, and they were awesome with Aunt Lois who had them laughing nonstop. Christopher was so sick, and yet his professionalism shown through to the point we didn't even realize he was sick for several days. That was impressive. This duo comes highly recommended by us. Our experience with them was the stuff life long memories are made of, and we cannot thank the entire staff enough. You guys rock! The experience highlighted the difference between having a guide who learned how to guide from a class or a book and men and women who have grown up in the bush and studied and truly know their craft.

The fact that there are no self drives allowed in Sabi Sand added to the incredible experience as we weren't packed into viewing spots with many other vehicles and people who weren't really sure what protocol was or even in the way of viewing the incredible animals. The guys communicated well with the other drivers from the Sabi resorts and they worked hard to give us an excellent experience. They succeeded!

The experience was so different than that we had at a larger resort in Greater Kruger last year, and I appreciate both Jaci's and the one we stayed at last time. Totally different experiences, and both were well worth it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this fantastic review. Our team take so much pride in what they do and will be ecstatic to read all the wonderful things that you had to say about them. A small intimate safari lodge is all about the people and the location; we are very fortunate to have the best of both of these.

We spent marvelous four days in Jaci‘s Sabi House as a part of a family reunion. Our guide Dylan was an adept driver on the uneven terrain and very well informed about the local ecosystems and flora and fauna - he made sure that all questions were answered and kept all of us and especially the kids (5 and 10) engaged throughout with interesting facts, jokes and hot chocolate! Out tracker Chris was highly experienced and ensured an unparalleled game viewing experience! The lodge was clean and beautifully done with local aesthetics with an eco-friendly approach (no single use plastic, minimal use of paper towels etc) - the lounge facing the water hole was an added bonus! Dimpho and her team kept us well fed with delicious food with elements of our native cuisine mixed in! The team was highly motivated and we especially appreciated the fact that Dylan and Chris squeezed in a short early morning Safari on the day of the departure, so that we could make the most of our time there. We were definitely sorry to leave and will come back again!

I'm sure that there is not a bad review on Jaci's. The attention to detail and catering for everyone's individual needs was fantastic - well done to all the staff! We had a group ranging from a baby to an early teen to young adults to oldies, all of whom were looked after in every way. It goes without saying that the game viewing was superb too. Quite an experience.

I was truly blown away by the experience we had at Jaci's! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt like royalty!

Donald was an incredible host greeting us after every single game drive with a warm smile come rain or shine and was readily available for any request we had, even procuring binoculars at a moment's notice when we wanted to see animals by the watering hole from the deck.
Our amazing chef, Dimpho, really set the bar so high at our very first high tea, and we were all so excited for the meals to come.... and they definitely did not disappoint! The catering was generous, and the food was absolutely scrumptious!
Our lovely cleaners Nandi and Nono had a keen eye in making sure everything was left spick and span each day. It was a true spoil to be looked after so well, not have to do any dishes, and have everything around us always looking pristine!
To our wonderful tracker and guide, Chris and Skhulile, you guys really gave us memories that will last a lifetime! The sheer knowledge they possess on so many vast topics about the African wildlife and Bush really blew me away! I learned so much about animal prints and tracking and was thankful for how Chris introduced us to them as we went. We had so much fun seeing the Big 5, looking up birds in their bird books, following a pack of hungry wild dogs, learning to make bracelets from tree bark, and seeing the beautiful roses of the bush, impala!

(Bonus highlight: the complimentary natural bug spray provided in all the rooms became a necessity and we were all so thankful for it!)

I seriously cannot recommend this place enough, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat!

Booked 3 nights at Jaci’s Sabi lodge. The lodge suited our family perfectly as we had young children with us. Having the freedom of the lodge to ourselves was perfect. Mama E cooked up a treat at every meal and Tepelo was a fantastic host. Both staff members are an absolute asset to the lodge We had a few issues which I brought up with the lodge itself with regards to the game vehicle etc. (hence not 5/5) The lodge dealt with this as best they could at the time considering the circumstances. The follow up from management with calls and mails showed great customer service. Well done Jaci’s on following up and striving to give an all round excellent safari experience

Truly exceptional experience. We have been fortunate to visit many such lodges and this easily rates as one of the best. The staff are amazing - engaging, attentive yet in the background, personal, knowledgeable. And the meals were out of this world. Our family loved every minute of our stay. Well done to the team, you can be very proud of your standard of service. God bless and stay safe.

Spent several awesome days at Jaci's House at the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa. The food was unbelievable and the hospitality and friendliness of Dylan and all the staff will never be forgotten. And yes we saw so many animals. Elephants and hippos frequented the large pond below the compound. And out on the trails Dylan and his guides enabled us to see leopards, all kinds of antelopes, rhino and even cheetah. We had so much fun and were able to see so much. I do highly recommend this resort if you visit South Africa.

The staff are truly wonderful, guiding by Ralph top notch and the bright bold decor and amazing food are tops. Sitting around the fire overlooking the dam is a treat.
