After a 3 week camping trip through Zambia on our way back home to Namibia, we did a perfect day's drive from Mutinondo Wilderness to Fringilla Farm. We were very surprised to find an Afrikaans speaking community in the middle of Zambia.
Great campsite under huge shady trees, green lawns, well maintained gardens and clean ablutions with hot water and lots of interesting things to see and do.
We went on a short inspection trip and found Mike at the butchery who answered all our questions about this fascinating set-up. He had our mouths water with stories of the best steaks in Zambia - so true, we enjoyed them at the restaurant!
Unfortunately that evening one of our group got very ill, and we sincerely appreciate all the help, assistance and generosity we received from Andrew, the owner. The Doctor in the clinic on site was also truly amazing!
We would have loved to stay another day but we had to rush to get to a Hospital back home.
Campers - when the pigs start "screaming" at night, they do not get slaughtered, it's just their way dealing with stepping on each others feet.

Stopped over here on way from Copperbelt to Eastern Province, wanted to avoid going into Lusaka. Our cheap K650 ‘room’ was effectively a house - 3 bedrooms, bathroom and a lounge. Clean, well equipped, TV, fridge, aircon, tea/coffee etc.
Excellent food in the restaurant, either buffet style or menu with take away options too. Though we felt the breakfast buffet was slightly on the expensive side it was an impressive choice of food. Card payments accepted.
Generally very well maintained and serviced, with nice touches like hand wash facilities everywhere in public areas and clean, well equipped toilets.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
And the pies are simply the best!

We had travelled from Siavonga and stopped at Fringilla on our way north.

Spacious clean accommodation both in the chalets and lodge. Lovely hot shower and large bed in the lodge. Double bed and single or two large singles in chalets. Comfortable beds. Air conditioning in all accommodation.

Fringilla is set just off the great north road however road noise did not disturb our sleep.
Good value for money but remember breakfast not included in cost.
Lovely gardens where you can eat and food very good. Excellent burgers.
Generally friendly staff and service effecient and quick.

We had a power outage when staying on one occasion and were moved to another room when the generator did not solve our power problem

Spent a night here and I had taken a double room for 350K, stable #4. The showers were disgusting and stained, u wouldn't wanna put your feet in there. For the amount you don't even have airconditioned rooms, I had two fans in my room that just kept letting off hot air, the room rate isn't inclusive of breakfast. You need to pay an extra amount for breakfast. I was so disappointed.

I have stayed at Fringilla a couple of times over the last few years and have had consistently great experiences. It is an easy drive from Lusaka and makes a nice overnight or weekend trip. There isn’t a ton to do, but that’s part of the laid-back charm—nice walking trails behind the farm, with tons of vultures (apparently there is a vulture preserve or something?), tasty pies and braai meals in the garden, and an all-around relaxing setting. I find the rooms slightly better than most lodges in this price range in Zambia, particularly the chalets near the reception. I have travelled with my dogs several times and have received a warm welcome. Owners will go above and beyond to help with any issues. When my car insurance expired and there was nowhere to renew it in Chisamba, they offered to send someone to Kabwe to renew it for me.

There are also some nice little places nearby in Chisamba to eat, a nice pizza place on a farm, a coffee shop with pastries, etc.

All in all, a really lovely, laid-back weekend getaway.

Fringilla farm and venue is a lovely oasis with vast gardens shaded by enormous trees. The garden is littered with seating and tables to enjoy a meal or a drink at.

We stayed in a standard room for an affordable price. Although the interior was outdated it was clean and spacious with everything one need. The room had an en-suite with basin, toilet and shower. There was a double and a three-quarter bed, TV, air-conditioning, mosquito netting, a safe, refrigerator and a kettle with tea, coffee and sugar.

Free Wi-fi is available but only in the reception and restaurant areas.

The professional staff was very friendly and helpfull.

The restaurant has a worth while dinner buffet for a reasonable price.

The buffet breakfast is not included in the room price.

You can also buy something from the take-away shop. Try Fringillas home-made pies. Its some of the best pies I've ever had!

I recommend Fringilla to anyone who's looking for comfortable and affordable accommodation, a value for money meal or a relaxing pit-stop to have a drink and a quick snack.

We have found that the quality of the facilities are being run down and not kept up to the standards.

Kettle has no socket to plug into bedside lights not plugged into shower nozzle falling off door handle not working etc are some of the things we found . I think all rooms need to be revamped.

We had the pot roast buffet and it tasted like the chief had dropped the salt cellar in the roast it was too salty to eat but it was lovely and tender.

Room was basic but clean with mosquito nets, a shower and toilet. Could do with an uplift. It has a great campingsite for school trips.Breakfast was not very inspiring and is charged separately from the room charge. Dining room could also do with an uplift. Great pies and borewoer sausages. Fresh meat in the butchery competitively priced.
