We booked the Thokozani Cottage for a weekend getaway and bridal shower. Staff were friendly, but facilities and cutlery were not clean. Kitchen is not suitable for self-catering. Furniture in need of repair.
Excellent experience, lovely place, tranquil and peaceful. Love it and will be back for a longer stay next time we come to Cape Town. Wellington was a good night out and only a shot drive down the road.
We stayed at Diemersfotein for one night with our little toddler (2 years old). The staff went out of their way to welcome us and to cater to our every need. The rooms were very comfortable - definitely old school charm! The gardens are spectacular and we spent some time at the pool. The food at the restaurant was delicious and our little one loved playing in the fountains and petting the owner's very sweet dogs! Would definitely recommend Diemersfontein.
We were fortunate to be given a gift of the Diemersfontein Harvest Supper/Dinner and a night in the guest house. The event was lovely; beautifully laid out tables, great food, a most interesting tour of the wine cellar and talk by the wine maker; and clean and comfortable bed and room for our overnight accommodation. All the food was well-presented, but I must commend the chef on the excellent fillet steaks for the main course. Having read other reviews of the farm I agree that this is a very special place. We had decided to walk on Sunday morning and as usual had asked permission, so we headed out for what turned out to be a short epwalk as it was a very hot day 32deg. My advice to anyone walking/hiking there would be to start early. My husband said, after 3km, that we should turn back. A large glass of water and tea/ coffee at the bistro afterwards. We were just too full after breakfast to eat lunch there but I was pleased to note that the menu had fillet steak on it. Lunch is available Wednesday to Sunday so we will be back for a midweek walk/hike and lunch. …
Thank you for a brilliant stay at Diemersfontein: the friendly staff, cosy garden-facing room, comfy linens, delicious breakfasts and overall relaxing stay would definitely warrant a repeat visit. The proximity of the huge pool and miles of running tracks on the greater farm were huge advantages.
Beautiful grounds , lovely accommodation , very friendly staff , good food , excellent wine . I highly recommend this experience . We found the staff very friendly and helpful . The wine farm is set in very attractive surroundings and our room was very comfortable . We stayed for two days and we were very sorry to leave . We were very relaxed and enjoyed every minute of our time there
My partner and I have always enjoyed the original Pinotage range. We finally decided to come to the farm and was truly overwhelmed with the meat and cheese platter that goes along perfectly with the variety of wine selections. Our waitress Jean was lovely! We will return
Me and my wife enjoyed our stay in Diemersfontain very much! The property is fantastic with beautiful gardens and pool facilities. We even met the owner David wich told us interesting stories about the farm and it’s world class wine. The staff was incredibly welcoming and every person has got a big smile for you! Thank you everyone, we will definitely see each other again soon!
Upon our arrival there was no one at reception and we had to wait a while to get taken to our room. the ladies at breakfast were all very friendly although a bit sluggish and we had to wait a while for our food. The room was clean and spacious and the bed very comfortable. The grounds are vast and lovely although slightly neglected. the pool area was untidy.
I love Diemersfontentein wines & even ordered wine online during lockdown. When my husband said we should go on a roadtrip to see the wildflowers in Namaqualand & the West Coast, my first thought was visiting Diemersfontein!!! I made the reservation and could not stop feeling excited that I could at long last pay a visit to Diemersfontein. I enquired about the wine tasting (that is included free of charge for staying guests) & I was informed that due to the Covid regulations it was not possible. Upon arrival, we had to find out that their on site restaurant was closed and that we had to leave the premises in search of a evening meal (in a town we do not know at all). They do serve breakfast in the morning. I feel cheated, because not only has my longtime dream of attending a wine tasting (included in the price of the accommodation) at Diemersfontein fallen flat, but we also have to go in search of a decent restaurant for supper. Despite all of this, it was still expected of me to pay the full price for the accommodation. …
