Stayed here for our sons wedding, we stayed in the beautiful Manor House in stunning surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always smiling, I really didn’t want to leave. Large pool for sole use of Manor House, also mini bar available. we chose to eat at the on site restaurant for breakfast and dinner on last evening.
We stayed for ten days in the stunning Manor House on the Dunstone Wine Estate in Wellington. The house is simply delightful and the whole estate is stunningly beautiful. Staff were excellent offering wonderful service and welcome and careful attention to detail. The area is very peaceful and picturesque with easy access to Cape Town if required. We particularly enjoyed the local cuisine especially the wine and beer! This is one of the most restful yet satisfying holidays I have ever had. High recommended!
Dunstone ticked all the boxes for us - not too far from CT, good for kids, restaurant options on site, self-catering and braais, pool and lots of things to do, see, eat and drink in the area and you don't have to be in Franschoek! Lovely friendly staff and great attention to detail made this a great stay. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.
Nice restaurant, great dishes, a pleasant and picturesque setting, good service and friendly staff, unusual burgers, nice fries and onion rings, good steaks, good selection of their own wines, wellrecommended.
We stayed in Acorn Cottage, the honeymoon suite , for 3 nights. The place is beautifully done, airy, spacious and comfortable. It has it's own plunge pool and sun loungers outside. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can sort yourself out, or the restaurant on the estate will deliver if you don't fancy cooking or venturing out. The only downside from our point of view was the cottage backed on to a building used by the staff for laundry and garden work and their conversations were ever-present during the day in an otherwise very quiet environment. Also beware of the mosquitos. The dam is very close and although picturesque does help them thrive. They do provide spray but we still came away with several souvenirs we'd rather not have had! Ask for a tour of the wine cellar.…
We enjoyed an absolutely wonderful two night stay recently, having read all the reviews etc. before arriving we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Lavender suite which was clean, spacious and relaxing, afternoon tea by the pool was a lovely treat as was breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The views from the lounge are beautiful as are the wines we enjoyed during our stay. For lunch one day we ordered the Picnic Basket, absolutely amazing, so much choice and food, it would easily have fed four people, we would definitely recommend. If you want a relaxing stay, excellent hospitality, good food and beautiful location then this is the place for you.
we stayed in the manor house as a family group. it is a beautiful old house in stunning scenery with mountains. house is classicly well furnished. it has it's own large pool which is for the sole use of the manor house guests and is a lovely place to relax. there is an on site restaurant for breakfast and dinner which is rustic but very good food.
A lovely winery setting just outside Wellington ( 1 horse town !). We stayed in the idyllic Acorn cottage up beside the Winery & Manor House. It’s a gorgeous, recently restored 1 bed cottage. It hascs lovely shaded tree area outside & very refreshing plunge pool ( near freezing I’m pleased to say in 30C+ heat). Very attentive & discrete staff in both the restaurant & facilities team. The owner Abbi made herself known & clearly prides herself on high hospitality standards.Food was decent but not spectacular. The estate wines very drinkable & good value.Dont go strolling along the main road though as the 4*4s fly along, kicking up a dust cloud. All in all a fab place to chill.
We absolutely loved out stay here and were very sad that it was only for one night - we will definitely return for longer next time if in the area. We had the Vine Honeymoon Cottage which was decorated very nice with everything we needed including the bonus of an outside jacuzzi which was so relaxing after a long haul flight. Free wine tasting is provided 6-7 pm in a communal areas which was a great touch to watch the sun go down in such a tranquil location, The honesty bar is really good with good wine prices and selection (beer is available too) - we enjoyed a nice bottle in the jacuzzi looking up at the stars. We ate at their restaurant the Stone Kitchen and really enjoyed the food and service - the gourmet burgers really are delicious and i would highly recommend them. The…
Just absolutely amazing service - above and beyond. We had an incredible weekend there. The Vine cottage is everything you can dream of with it's own private location and jacuzzi. Amazing complimentary wine hour where you can literally just help yourself to as much wine as you want!! Such fantastic included breakfasts too - they even delivered to our room! Hands down our best getaway, thank you Dunstone! We will be back soon.
