An amazing and responsive staff took care of all our needs during our two night stay. Stylish rooms, effortless check-in, and great food hi lighted our visit. Quiet and picturesque, but be sure to drop the veil at bedtime to avoid the mosquitoes!
Highly recommended this quaint and stunning country house. Everything was perfect. The house is just beautiful and has everything that you would need. The gardens and view breathtaking. Service was amazing and thank you for my beautiful birthday cake! We will be back!
A welcome, warm, stylish country stay. The friendly, professional staff (Privilege, Rene amongst others) were welcoming and very accommodating. Picture starting off the day being served a gorgeous breakfast sitting overlooking the vinyards while listening to soothing mysic, to afternoon tea & cake AND a wine tasting late afternoon after swimming in the pool and meeting Merlot & Rose. Ending the evening by going for dinner at The Stone Kitchen Bistro. The Dunstone Country House is a must stay when in the Wellington area!
We have been going to Dunstone for a few years now and are already looking forward to next year's visit. The setting is beautiful with luxurious clean rooms. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and what is really nice is that the staff remember visitors from their previous stays at Dunstone. Service is excellent. Every year that we go, we notice improvements, they are always updating to make visits more enjoyable and comfortable. Let me not start on the food, dinner and breakfast at the Stone Kitchen, which has been beautifully revamped, was delicious and portions are very generous. Afternoon tea and wine tasting for guests staying over is also a highlight.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay. The gluten free food was amazing, besides gluten free bread being available the chef was able to adapt many of the regular menu items (steak, cheese platter, French toast, and more) to be amazing gluten free options for me. We also had some great day hikes at the farm up the road. We took an Uber in from Cape Town, and the receptionist helped us get a taxi easily back to Cape Town. Highly recommend for a quiet weekend away which we enjoyed, but also it is very family friendly.
Stayed here for our sons wedding, we stayed in the beautiful Manor House in stunning surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are always smiling, I really didn’t want to leave. Large pool for sole use of Manor House, also mini bar available. we chose to eat at the on site restaurant for breakfast and dinner on last evening.
We stayed for ten days in the stunning Manor House on the Dunstone Wine Estate in Wellington. The house is simply delightful and the whole estate is stunningly beautiful. Staff were excellent offering wonderful service and welcome and careful attention to detail. The area is very peaceful and picturesque with easy access to Cape Town if required. We particularly enjoyed the local cuisine especially the wine and beer! This is one of the most restful yet satisfying holidays I have ever had. High recommended!
Dunstone ticked all the boxes for us - not too far from CT, good for kids, restaurant options on site, self-catering and braais, pool and lots of things to do, see, eat and drink in the area and you don't have to be in Franschoek! Lovely friendly staff and great attention to detail made this a great stay. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.
Nice restaurant, great dishes, a pleasant and picturesque setting, good service and friendly staff, unusual burgers, nice fries and onion rings, good steaks, good selection of their own wines, wellrecommended.
We stayed in Acorn Cottage, the honeymoon suite , for 3 nights. The place is beautifully done, airy, spacious and comfortable. It has it's own plunge pool and sun loungers outside. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can sort yourself out, or the restaurant on the estate will deliver if you don't fancy cooking or venturing out. The only downside from our point of view was the cottage backed on to a building used by the staff for laundry and garden work and their conversations were ever-present during the day in an otherwise very quiet environment. Also beware of the mosquitos. The dam is very close and although picturesque does help them thrive. They do provide spray but we still came away with several souvenirs we'd rather not have had! Ask for a tour of the wine cellar.…
