We had the most enjoyable and memorable getaway at Stonehill. The scenic views were breathtaking. Lots for the kids to do but the jacuzzi in winter was the highlight. The green route hiking trail and archery was tops for my kids too. Can’t wait for our return God -willing. Thanx Stonehill

Out entire weekend started off well. We traveled by off-road bikes and got there just before sundown, cold and tired. We were warmly met by the duty manager and all paperwork and briefing was sorted out quickly and to the point. Accommodation was more than we expected and the overall impression was very good. Check-out on early Sunday was again handled swiftly and professionally. Well done!

We had the most amazing time at Stonehill River Lodge Resort. Our unit was well equipped and the resort itself was in immaculate condition. We cannot fault anything besides not staying longer. We will definitely be returning.

What impressed us most of all, are time and effort that went into the activities set out for the kids and the wonderful way the staff treats the little ones. But we as adults also experienced the special effort that goes into ALL the activities. Bravo to the Stonehill team!!!

Beautiful and peaceful setting with a lovely view of the Breede River from our unit. We choose the 8-sleeper unit which had a modern look and furnishing. Resort has daily activities available during the week. The public pool could be modernized or a 2nd pool could be installed. Although we did not see any game, there was evidence that these do exist on the resort. We went away for a peaceful break and this was certainly provided by Stonehill.

Accommodation: Luxury units. We stayed in a 6 sleeper with loft. The unit was SPOTLESS when we checked in. Complimentary chocolates for us all & a free 5L water. Unit contains a Nespresso, dishwasher (tabs supplied). Swimming towels provided. All the 6-sleepers have their own JACUZZI on deck. Units are modern - large TV in lounge & in main bedroom. More upmarket than PineLake, Pikinierskloof or Club Mykonos. Two bathrooms - one for kids & main bedroom has a huge bath and walk in shower. Management: super efficient & always on the ball. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Vibe: non-commercial, serene and relaxing spot. Kids trampoline, play area and pool, but its not a "resort". Recycling bins and worm compost bins in each unit in keeping with eco-friendly theme. Kids activities were canceled due to covid unfortunately but we hiked - mountain bikes & fishing rods available for hire, incl River rafting & archery. We did them all on our previous trip & was great. Uncapped wifi - decent speed to stream Netflix/Amazon. DSTV bouquet also available. It's my second trip here and we'll be back again. Becoming one of my favorite holiday spots to relax and unwind in nature.…

As a group of friends we decided to take an little break and booked Stonehill River Lodge. We were lucky with the weekend we had during our stay as the weather was perfect and made the breakaway all the more amazing. The house accommodates 8 people and has that you could need. The lodge is quite far into Swellendam and is quite the journey to get there. But it’s so worth it. The sounds of the river, the views of the sunset, the complete surrounds of nature are amazing. As it is a time of the pandemic, the staff adhered to the strictest protocols ensuring all were safe. They have a gas braai on the balcony for your convenience and you wouldn’t then have to go too far away from friends and family, there’s an awesome hot tub that overlooks the river and they offer activities like river rafting, archery and there are bike and running trails. You feel like you’re off the grid but with all the amenities. …
