A Transitional 4-star graded Guesthouse situated in the main road of town. Set close to many restaurants and attractions. The closest restaurant is next door! With its heritage characters and spacious garden, our guesthouse has a country feel to it all. With 9 lovely rooms to choose from. Each room is decorated stylishly with a mix of old and new and a touch of detail everywhere. Bathrooms have been renovated recently. Each room has a fridge, coffee/tea tray, limited DSTV, hair dryer and fans /heaters to fulfill in all your needs. Linen is of high quality. Most rooms lead out onto the terrace/patio with seating areas where one can enjoy a read and feel the nature. Guests can lounge around the swimming pool during the day or spend time at the firepit during the evenings. We are a family friendly guesthouse and welcome families with children. We have family rooms available with an extra beds or sleeper couch.

The doors to the rooms, we were in room no 9, are very low - my partner bumped his head on the way in: add at least a visible warning or hazard tape to the door to clearly identify the possibility that you can hurt yourself. The cold water was frozen in the pipes, I had to add our drinking water in the bathtub - the cold-water pipes should be insulated to keep it from freezing during winter: it is an inconvenience when you want to take a bath and only hot water is available. The water is actually very hot and can cause burning.

Good day Doreen Thank you for the feedback on you stay at Elianthe Guesthouse. If we receive complaints regularly and are in a position to change them, we are happy to pay attention to the problem. We have never had in the ten years that we have the guesthouse any complaints about the door being to low, perhaps because most guests realize it is a historic building. No one has yet complained that the water is too cold, probably because it can be managed when you tap water in the bath. We spend this year a lot of money to get the guesthouse off grid during loadshedding for a comfy stay. Unfortunately we cannot change the place after every review to keep everyone happy. Elianthe Boutique is lovely, easy to find, clean, tidy and well located for access to the town and restaurants. We left our car in the secure parking area to stroll round the town and visit coffee houses before preparing to the evening.

Lovely arriving to friendly staff, comfy beds with excellent linen. Elianthe's is beautifully furnished without being pretentious. One night was too short! Perfect for a family stay. Swimming pool and pots of space for kids to run around in the garden.

Elianthe is a beautiful boutique hotel in an old homestead built in 1826 in the town of Swellendam, South Africa. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, with huge beds and en suite bathroom/shower. The rooms have wooden shutters, old timber ceilings and floors covered by beautiful rugs. Despite it being the middle of winter, we were all toasty warm under thick duvets. The staff were welcoming, kind and helpful and if I do this trip again, I would book into Elianthe again.

This is the second time we've stayed here - just love it. Huge room, hot shower, best crisp white linen and the most comfy bed! Cynthia is a gem, and nothing is too much for her! We were so warm just with the heater on, we didn't need the electric blanket ! We always choose our particular room, and we're able to park our bikes inside :) We'll definitely be back!

Our room was quiet, clean and very comfortable (as always). The gardens and pool are immaculate and chilling at the pool was very relaxing after a long motor cycle ride. Within walking distance of a choice of restaurants this remains our stop over of choice on all our trips. We will return.
