We have stays with a family of 7 persons. 2 bedroom house plus a 1 bedroom house. We loved it. Tastefully decorated, well equipped, fine beds, large veranda, breathtaking view. Finally a place in South Africa where they have managed to get wifi operating at decent speed. This seems to be an issue in this country, as we have experienced...

In Swellendam on business and found this beautiful lodge almost by mistake. Spent 2 wonderful nights in the very pretty wedge between majestic mountains. I was booked into a room marked (economy) I suppose because it was adjacent to the reception area because the room certainly anything but 'economy'! A really large, modern and well-appointed room with basic self-catering facilities...

nice quiet place to stay right near the mountains - nice rooms, well furnished, modern, with comfortable beds. they have a fridge and a kettle in the room too, very useful for overnight travellers. breakfast is very good - selection and quality is excellent.. service is slow for non-buffet items. Coffee is very average - rather go to the wonderful...

Swellendam is the perfect location to discover the region and Route 62. Take a spacious villa at Gaikou Lodge for a family or for two couples. Beautiful grounds and very friendly and efficient staff. It is a very upmarket B&B.

This hotel is spectacular in every way. The backyard view of the mountains is jaw dropping -I felt like i was in the Sound of Music! The rooms are gorgeous - large and perfectly appointed, with a large soaking tub and deluxe linens, plus an outdoor terrace for mountain viewing. But the best part of the hotel were the people...

Gaikou Lodge is located on the periphery of Swellendam in a quiet neighbourhood. The lodge has a magnificent "back yard" with a view of the mountains so close you can almost touch it. The rooms are big, very modern, clean and comfortable. So too the bathroom. In addition, a large bathtub is located in the room for the romantic ladies...

This is the second time we stayed over at the lodge, this time we brought friends along as well. We all loved the rooms and how quiet and tranquil it all is. Super neat and clean rooms and bathrooms. Sufficient parking, no loose gravel so you can park your motorcycle with out the fear of it falling over. They organized...

Fantastic - they reduce their prices during the winter months, making it affordable for the business traveller like myself. They have a clever business model - because having been there and experienced this lovely place on business, I will be sure to return with my wife! The owners clearly have a great feel for the hospitality industry - every need...
