Detailed Reviews
We received a warm welcome from Patrick. The guest house has a great location near restaurants and shops so we could get dinner easily by walking. The house has beautiful views of the mountains and you can eat outside while enjoying these. Room was very comfy, big bathroom and excellent shower. We had a lovely stay.

We were just overnighting in Swellendam on our way to visit a friend in Stilbaai. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at a recommended location from the hosts as well as their superb breakfast out on the veranda the next morning. Thanks for making us feel so welcome! The ability to pet the house dogs was a treat!!

Situated 300m from the main road and close to the Drostdy Museum, this BnB is within walking distance of most attractions in Swellendam. Patrick is a most attentive host and he also offers a 3 course dinner (preferably pre-ordered) for R 200. Its good wholesome cooking and great value as is the BnB itself. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance.

This guest house is ideally situated, you can leave the car and walk to restaurants, shops and museums. The room was lovely but on the smaller side for South African standards (or what I've seen so far), nicely furnished with the imposing mountain view. Bathroom with stand-up shower was clean. The garden and the pool were very inviting, unfortunately, I didn't have the time to use either. Patrick was very welcoming and gave me valuable information about the restaurants in Swellendam (as it was Sunday, not many were open), and for my further trip. Breakfast on the sun deck with the mountain view was a delight.
Only drawback: walls are very thin and you can hear all the doors being opened and shut (but resting hours were respected, so this was not really a problem).

This was an interesting and quite unique place to stay and a lot of thought had obviously gone into making it that way. The walls and floors had a cement like rustic style in order to create an African feel and many pictures and ornaments were in keeping with this African theme. However, an unusual contrast was the number of Persian rugs scattered about and these gave it additional warmth and that extra taste of luxury. The highlight for us was waking up to the wonderful mountain view from our window after the previous rainy and misty day. Our room, Clock Peaks, was bright comfortable and well equipped and the spacious shower was tops.Thank you Patrick (and dogs) for making us feel at home and for the scrumptious breakfast that set us up for the long day's drive ahead. We do hope to return for longer next time.

Beautiful setting, and easy walk into town. Patrick our host was really helpful, giving us lots of tips for what to see in the area. Lovely breakfast every morning. I would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Swellendam. The wine tram was brilliant.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Patrick who was extremely friendly and helpful in making our stay a very pleasant one. Meals prepared for dinners were tasty and well presented with a nice cozy fire and background music adding to the ambiance. We will definitely return when visiting Swellendam in the future.

On our trip though South Africa, we stopped for one night at the View, Swellendam. The B&B is wonderful, we had a big room (King Size Bed), Bath with a view (not seeable from the outside). The house has a pool and a Sundeck which is also perfect for viewing the stars.
Restaurants are less than 5 Minutes away, Swellendam is very beautiful and has a lot of history - which Patrick and Claire can tell you a lot about. Also the breakfast ist lovely. We had a great stay and learned a lot about South African History as well.
Nearby ist the Bontebok Park which is a must see.

From arrival to departure a homey feel was abundant. The room was adequate for the night and the pool, common dining and sitting room were comfortable, social, and a pleasure. The hosts were friendly and solicitous to one's every need.

This location was great & easy to find, the very first left as you get in from Plett/Knysna-side. My room was very comfy, spacious, lovely decor and style, enjoyed the heated blanket. There was a bit of noise in the morning from the kitchen which woke me up unfortunately, the TV didn't work when I tried to conceal the noise however the owner was friendly and helpful and also allowed me to stay an extra hour to sleep-in, that was very kind. He also offered a later time for breakfast.
