A Riverbed is a luxury guesthouse right on the Koornlands river, with modern architecture and interior lay-out. Spectacular Langeberg mountain views and riverside tranquility. We regret no children under 16 years.

This is an excellent choice for your stay in Swellendam. It has a great location near the main street of Swellendam whilst being completely private near the river that runs through the backyard of the place. The rooms are immaculate and the attention to detail fantastic. As an ex hotelier it gives me such great pleasure to see these small scale operations doing so well. Riverside has only 4 rooms that each have a terrace with sufficient privacy. The rooms are large and the bathrooms oversized. Good amenities and Nespresso machines in each unit. Lovely pool and plenty loungers to relax after a day of sightseeing. Ample parking and a very friendly and accommodating host.

Tucked away at the end of a lane. We found this quiet oasis. Secure parking for our car, we were shown to one of 4 large rooms with a small kitchen area. Lovely spacious bathroom with heated towel rail. Breakfast items are supplied. You cook your own breakfast, eat outside at table and chairs provided overlooking a stunning, heated pool with loungers and a view of the mountain. The garden leads to the river. A lovely place to stay and unwind.

We stayed here for one night and wish we could've stayed more. The grounds are secure, super clean and quiet at night. No breakfast is included but there are things one can use to make breakfast within the room (mini-fridge is present). The pool is great as are the lounge chairs.

We stayed here twice each for one night to break up our journey between Cape Town and Knysna. The rooms are luxurious with your own little kitchen to cook your breakfast (food provided) and a large well equipped bathroom. The best bit is the view from the pool of the mountains nearby which is breathtaking. We had a couple of meals in the town which is a quaint old Dutch settlement and found plenty of choice offering fabulous food. We could easily have spent more time here, particularly with the very friendly service we received.

My hubby and I loved this beautiful place. From the pleasant sounds of the river next to it to the large adorable dogs. The room had everything you need, all the kitchen essentials made preparation of food very easy. They do offer breakfast depending on what your booking entails but we selected self catering. They have a nice big fire pit and oh my the pool was also breathtaking, not forgetting to mention the beautiful mountain views from the young walk we took. I honestly loved everything about it and to top it off, Melani was a really great host, she's super friendly and made our stay more welcoming.

Wonderful, clean and large suite. The kitchenette with 2-burner stove and microwave were great for cooking something on Christmas Day. Room 4 had the best privacy. We were completely satisfied with the quiet location and the view of the mountains.

Our two night stay at Riverbed Guesthouse was never enough to sample the delights of Swellendam. The Apartment had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable and was in walking distance to many great restaurants. We plan to return for longer next year

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at this beautiful guesthouse perfectly located at the foot of the mountain alongside the beautiful Koornlands River. Melani was an amazing host, who furnished the chalets tastefully, not sparing any convenience. We left feeling well rested, recharged and energized, ready to tackle the year ahead!

Very friendly lady who, due to absence of the owners of the guesthouse, received us. Our room (1 out of 4) was very spacious, overlooking a beautifully landscaped garden (with pool) and mountains. On the advice of the same lady, we had a lovely dinner in a small restaurant nearby. Too bad we didn't sleep well because of the storm. But would definitely come back!

I'm so glad I found a wonderful stopover en route from cape town to plettenberg bay. On the river with beautiful mountain views, this newly renovated guesthouse has super clean, spacious, fully equipped rooms. As the freindly host says "the bed is one of the most important things for a traveller" and it sure lives up to that philosophy. The linen is my favorite soft cotton and the king size mattress is comfort deluxe. Delicious nespresso coffee is available and a mini fridge with lovely breakfast goodies inside. I loved the homely feel of having the adorable resident great Danes coming to visit. Being winter I unfortunately couldn't sit by the lovely braai area next to the river but I look forward to going back in summer and hiking the mountains right near the lodge.
