Had some urgent work to attend to whilst away from my office and chose this place to work from. Ordered two coffees over an hour or so. Coffee was unpleasant and poorly made. Ordered a flat white and got a scalding hot cappuccino / latte type thing. Ordered an americano and was better than the flat white. The owner asked me to leave as they don’t allow this sort of thing (drinking coffee and working from their restaurant) I too have a Cafe and I know what’s it’s like to have people camp out on your wifi, but I was one of only a hand full of patrons in a large restaurant and I was ordering coffee so why all the fuss? I left and finished my work down the road where I had lunch. Can’t comment on food, but this is not a good place to try work from and I appreciate the owners stance on this but it doesn’t change the fact that as a paying customer (albeit a few coffees) I was asked to leave a very empty restaurant. I’m rating it two starts not one because at least the waitress was attentive and the setting is beautiful.

Stopped of in Swellendam and walked around before deciding to eat lunch. Couldn’t find an outside shady table but the owner cleaned a table of birthday presents and we were soon seated. The kitchen was struggling getting orders out but the owner kept us informed with his humour and we enjoyed the environment. Our meals came and were extremely tasty, my first experience of Bobotie was delicious. The owner apologised for the delay and gave us a cheesecake to share on the house for being nice customers. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience.n

Everything was perfect! What a beautiful area.Thanks. We had a large comfortable room. The bathroom was big, too. Unfortunately it rained the day we arrive so we weren´t able to use the pool or terrace, which wouldvhave been great. Breakfast was lovely.

Had lunch here . Nice setting . Food acceptable but everything is very sweet , bobotie , coleslaw , pasta salad ! Service good but food took long to arrive . All was reasonable until the bill arrived and I noted that the gratuity had automatically been added ! This is not legal and is completely ridiculous . A customer has the right to decide whether they want to tip and a gratuity is a gift not a given . I suggest you investigate your right to gratuity as you are automatically making your food cost 10% more , completely wrong and criminal !

Nice place with small pool in the centre of Swellendam, close to several eating places. Very good breakfast served by friendly staff. Although situated along the mainroad through Swellendam no noise is heard in the rooms.

Located close to the Drosty district with easy access to local restaurants. Rooms were well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great shower. We were served a generous breakfast by the very efficient and friendly Zelda. How nice it was to depart feeling well cared for.

Good hotel, the rooms were very clean. Nice host who gave good advice where to go to or what restaurant to eat. Not far from city center. Pool was a bit small for the amount of rooms they have. Breakfast was excellent.

Really a nice location with a wonderful breakfest. It is close to the center and there are a few good restaurants within walking distance. And it's very quiet in the night. For one or two days it is a nice overnight option. We liked it.
