We re running a small game farm on 87 hectares with a few giraffes, bontebok, springbok, eland, wildebeest, reebok, sables, kudu, steenbok, water buck and much more. A haven for wildlife with stunning views. Our 3 cottages offer our guests privacy and we guarantee you will see game during your visit. Fishing in full season at the farm. Guaranteed to catch something at the middle dam or the first bottle wine is on us! :) We also encourage you to walk or cycle the farm. We've built up some stunning picnic areas, ideal for sunsets. Families with kids, and lovers of nature are our favorite guests. Children get a chance to experience normal farm life at the bottom of the farm if they wish, and the green folks are welcome to collect their own veggies if they wish to do so. Permaculture and water conservation are a big part of our philosophy, and we try as best we can, to preserve the local ecosystem. We've done many mistakes on our farm, and we will make many more:)
Unfortunately, we were not at all happy with our room. It was like a closet and the worst thing was that there wasn't even a door to use the toilet "undisturbed". We were not given any alternative ways to cook during load-shedding. It was only after we wanted to fry our eggs and sausages in the morning and confronted the owners with the specific problem that we were shown the mini gas stove, the gas bottle was empty and had to be replaced first. That is no way to be a good host. During our three-week stay in South Africa, we never experienced such bad accommodation. And this was certainly not due to the price, as we only paid slightly more in some other accommodations. We were very disappointed with dt accommodation because we had expected much more based on the reviews.

Thank you for that wonderful time at Kwetu Guest Farm! We enjoyed our evenings in your hot pot with an amazing sky full of stars. During the breakfast we watched the two giraffs, antilopes, horses and further animals :) Everthing was fantastic!

It was a nice place to stay, in the middle of nature, in times of loadshedding however no WiFi The twopit stove was average, the worse thing however was the rooster who began at 4oclock in the morning and came every 15 minutes to tell to get up.

The property itself is breathtaking. When we pulled up to the cabin, there were two ostrich hanging out in the yard. A few min later a giraffe walked by the front door. Inside the cabin is why this isn't a 5. When we got inside, none of the lights worked. There's no phone, so I had to make an international phone call to reception. I asked about the lights and was told indignantly that it was load sheading, as if I should have known what time load sheading was that day in this area. It would have been quite helpful to know when we checked in ten minutes earlier. We booked a cabin with an outdoor hot tub, but it was freezing cold. I called reception and spoke with the women who I /think/ is the owner, but I'm not 100%. She said hot tub wasn't on our registration sheet so we would have to take it up with the booking agent because she "doesn't work in the office" The wifi in the room did not work with the posted password, but the 4G coverage was good, so that didn't impact things too much. There is no heat or AC in the cabin, but there is a wood burning fire place. Visiting in winter, it was quite cold overnight. There were no bathroom amenities in the cabin despite them being listed as included on the booking. They do exist, because an empty shampoo with the Kwetu logo was still in the shower from a previous guest. Some very minor improvements would would easily make this place 5 stars. …

The farm, the animals and the setting is absolutely beautiful and well up-kept, BUT the accommodation needs some SERIOUS upgrade, new and CLEAN bedding, and the place needs proper cleaning. I hate it when I spend a fortune on accommodation and I shudder at the feeling of the bedding or the dirty spots everywhere on the bedding???? The dust was lying layers on the fans and the place just felt extremely dirty. Both my husband and I started to sneeze within hours in the house and I knew it was from the dust. Not too long, we were both suffering from blocked sinuses and not feeling very great the rest of the weekend. I honestly couldn’t wait to get home, cause if I have to throw blankets to sleep just so I don’t have to sleep on your bedding, I am UPSET!

WOW!! What a unique experience Kwetu provides for locals and travelers alike. This seemingly rural setting provides an opportunity to get up close and personal (in a vehicle, or by foot) with some of Africa's famous Bok and Giraffe. You will be welcomed with open arms and your hosts are super friendly and willing to help. Our travel team consisted of 2 mums, 1 Australian with 21 yr old son and 1 South African with 16 and 13 yr old boys. We shared Springbok Cottage, self-catering, but ordered and enjoyed the Picnic Platter at one of the lookout picnic spots. What a terrific idea that was - a selection of cold meats, fruit, cheese, crackers and a lovely wine selected by the hosts. The accommodation was well appointed with all the utensils and equipment required for cooking. The rooms were spacious and comfortable to share for 3 days. Springbok Cottage comes with a wood-heated spa on the deck so you can enjoy the sunsets to the west. The local shop, just down the road, has most basic supplies if you run out. The area immediate surrounding our cottage was shared with ostrich, eland, sable, wilderbeest, bontebok and the giraffe. The animals were not intimidated and felt comfortable to roam freely around vehicles and the houses. We walked daily and had the opportunity to walk closely behind Melvin and Sophie as they made their way across the property. We braved the chill and went for a refreshing dip in the dam, the water was restful and you could swim among the lilies. A very very restful, peaceful and natural getaway location for locals and international visitors. We loved it.…

We loved staying in this cottage. The hot tub had been pre-heated for us and we were right next to the lake. We got to see lots of wildlife right outside our door and by walking on the tracks on the farm. The firewood was welcome and we had a lovely BBQ whilst we were there/

It’s a nice place to relax. It‘s very quite and you can watch the wildlife in front of the porch. This is amazing. The service was good. A road house with a nice playground and a nice farmstall are just around the corner.

The stay was peaceful, house was clean & eveything worked as it should. Toilet in main room had a leak on the waste pipe that will need some attention. I will definitely visit again for the peace & quiet.
