It is great to be again in South Africa after four years and finding that At Winkfield life has made a good place even better. It started by Robert, the owner, picking me up at the airport and helping me to get a rental car that was in a proper condition. Then he guided me through a safe route to the guest house and there I was greeted by Katharina his wife and his increased family of two children and five dogs. It was like returning home to my family of yesteryears. Everything in order and clean and perfect, just like at mom’s house. It is lovely to be back!

We spent wonderful, relaxing days at Winkfield House. The guest house is located in a very quiet and safe area. The entire complex, garden, pool and rooms are very well maintained and clean. The start to the day was complemented by a hearty breakfast and the many excursion tips from our hosts Katharina and Robert. We really enjoyed our stay!

The best location in the whole Region!!
My Girlfriend an I visited South Africa and we liked the vacation and the Guesthouse so much.
The Guesthouse has everything you need.
The Area: 5/5
In the area it is quiet although you are in the middle of the city.
The Garden is beautiful and groomed. Furthermore there is a Pool with many Options to lay down and relax After a long day. Also there is a small bar with self-service and the owner maked you Drinks in the evening when you ask him.
The Room: 4/5
We stayed in one of the small rooms (like Hotel Room) and it was so comfortable.
The bed was soft, the air conditioner was strong so the room cools down fast. We also had a small fridge in the room.
Positive:
The owners are very kind and nice.
You can ask them for tips and Tricks for your trips.
Also the connection to the freeway is nice. You are in under 5 minutes on the N1 and in around 20min in Cape Town.
We liked our stay there and will definetly come back.

This is an excellent please to stay in Somerset West , we had an extremely pleasant , comfortable and relaxed stay for 2nights . The host Robert and his wife Katherina are super friendly and helpful . Our room was large , airy and had a fantastic view . Sparkling warm swimming pool , well stocked bar , amazing library , in general very high standard , well maintained , lots of thoughtful extras and appropriate furnishings throughout .

My trips to ZA (South Africa) start at Winkfield House. It is there I get the feeling of being back home, the welcome and the way you are taken care of and treated like you are one of the family. The feeling of being safe and secure, even when travelling on your own. To me that is the most important thing on my whole trip. Visiting ZA is safe and secure as long as you listen to the locals on what to do and not to. Then the fantastic thing is that everything in between, that you are not so sure of, is taken care of and you feel treated like a royalty. I also like to emphasise the cleanliness that is superb and another factor that makes me feel like at home. Bearing in mind my demand of a perfect standard at the location I stay in, I will always stay with Katharina and Robert when in ZA. I warmly recommend that you do too! You see, to me, ZA is just as safe as travelling to Iceland, my own country, as long as you get your information directly from the locals.

Have spent several weeks over 2022 At Winkfield, with friends and family. It's amazing, relaxing, quiet and beautiful place. A location I will always return there when traveling to the Cape. Nice people, very high attention even for individual requests. Just a lovely oasis in this beautiful region. Everything up or above of what you would like to expect. Ever since I travelled there, the standard has been kept, not easy, considering what this country went through.

Our group stay at At Winkfield House was excellent. Sparkling clean rooms, the friendliest of staff, the owners as lovely as can be, attentive and helpful. The grounds are beautifully kept, calm and quiet. We got so lucky to find this place and we will definitely return!! Highly recommended!

We have seen several of guest house and lodges whilst traveling South Africa, but this one is most remarkable. Best situated in Somerset West, just below helderberg mountains, only 15 driving mins away from Winelands like Stellenbosch and also some of the best golf courses in the region. Cape Town easy via N2 in some 30 mins. Guest house is light up the hill with a spectacular grand view over False Bay up to Cape of Good Hope from cozy terrace and even some of the rooms ! Also a really great swimming pool, including a warm sweet water shower. Very nice gardens to relax also. Advertising of guest house is, of course like some others, "you come as guest and you´ll leave as friend" but to be honest, it´s really like that ! Dani and Robby are extraordinary friendly hosts and they will make nearly everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible. We stayed 6 nights in "Coral room" (its one of those with Cape of Good Hope view). Nice spacious room, great view, really big bathroom with bathtub, shower, bidet, toilette.
