We were super impressed with our stay. My only regret is that I could not stay longer. From the minute we arrived, when Bernard took us to our room and explained everything so nicely, to the extension of our check out time so we could enjoy the fabulous spa. This is such a well-kept and truly special property. I really appreciated the extra touch of the rose petals and little snacks when we arrived home for our anniversary. I cannot fault one thing. Thank you for a superb stay. I look forward to returning in the near future.

Erinvale is located in the heart of Stellenbosch, walking distance from three exceptional wine farms, Vergelegen, Morgenster and Lourensford which are all worth visiting as well as Erinvale’s championship golf course. The hotel itself has recently undergone refurbishment to a very high standard. It is luxurious, modern, comfortable and in a beautiful setting about 30 mins drive from Cape Town.
The moment we arrived we were welcomed in a very warm and friendly manner by the hotel staff, who were extremely kind and accommodating throughout our stay particularly Yolanda, Ronique and Stefan. Even the hotel manager Debbie was on hand to greet us upon arrival and kindly arranged a table for lunch on Christmas Day at very short notice. We were even fortunate enough to be greeted by Santa himself and the kids were treated to some lovely gifts and sweets, which was a really super touch and created an amazing atmosphere.
We visited the spa and had a fantastic couples massage and although there isn’t currently a gym on site the rooms come with a “gym in a bag” complete with kettle bell, dumbells, gym mat and resistance bands, a brilliant idea and everything you need to work out on the terrace in a beautiful setting, much better than a gym!
The restaurants in the hotel are superb and we enjoyed several meals here during our stay. There was a good variety of options on the menu (even for vegetarians ) and the food was fresh and delicious and the servers were attentive and friendly.
I cannot fault our stay in Erinvale, my wife and kids absolutely loved it and we are already missing it so much and planning our next return! Thank you for making our stay so magical, we look forward to coming back soon!

My wedding was held at Erinvale Hotel and some of our guests including our family stayed at the hotel. What an incredible experience! My husband and I, our friends, family and even the the wedding vendors (the florist and decor, the lady who made our wedding cake and the decor hire companies) have nothing but praise for the beautiful venue, the incredibly efficient, warm and welcoming staff, the delicious food and amazing experience that we had there. If I could give them a 10 out of 5 stars, I would! Starting with Jenice and the team at reservations who were so on top of the many changes to our accommodation bookings and thought through even the small details like putting my parents in a room with easy access to our car (my Mom needs wheelchair assistance to move around), they made the booking of our accommodation an absolute breeze. Next is Jean, the events co-ordinator extraordinaire at Erinvale who is so incredibly energetic, solutions orientated, flexible, detail orientated and amazingly accommodating. He thought of things I hadn't thought of and anticipated the unexpected and always just made a plan. What a pleasure to know that someone as capable as him was co-ordinating everything behind the scenes and liaising with the wedding vendors on the day! He and the F&B manager Haan are the dream team!
Next to be mentioned is the food and beverage manager Haan and his team in the banqueting hall who set up the venue, served our guests and made us feel like we were at a royal gala event. Everything ran perfectly on schedule and no one's wine glass was ever left empty. What an incredibly efficient and well trained team! Our guests were so beautifully taken care of. They all spoke glowingly of the service on the evening and how warm and friendly everyone was to us. The food was also absolutely delicious too - Chef Stefan and his team created the most delectable and palate pleasing menu. It was beautifully presented and he was so accommodating to some of the dietary requirements of my guests and even offered a special menu for the kids who attended which they loved! I have to also mention that every staff member we encountered from the team on reception, the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant, the cleaning and house keeping team, the porters who assisted us were efficient, friendly and kind. Housekeeping even steamed my wedding dress and veil beautifully for me which I was so grateful for. The rooms were lovely, the beds immaculate and comfortable and the gardens exquisite.. My Dad is still talking about how rested he felt afterwards and how much he enjoyed the buffet breakfast! I know this is a long review but I am felt that Erinvale deserved this review. They made my wedding a dream experience and I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a top star venue.

Further to my initial review, I have spoken with the General Manager, who emailed and requested I remove my review.
Your offer of a 1 night stay for our family is insulting.
You ruined our family Christmas by making two family members ill, one of whom was 7 months pregnant.
You admit your fault of serving food to two Coeliac’s, one of whom was 7 months pregnant.
Erinvale you ruined our family Christmas and you did not have the decency to offer us a like for like replacement break.
We refuse your offer of 1 night Bed & Breakfast, I accepted your apology on the phone as I thought you were offering a like for like break and thought you seemed sincere in your apology and that you understood just how ill you had made us and how upset we were at christmas being spoilt, especially for my 2 year old granddaughter.
I gave you every opportunity to do the right thing and you failed to do so. You did not offer to pay for medication or even reimburse the cost of the meal that poisoned us.
You first insult us by offering us 1 room for 1 night ( for 5 guests) then you insult us again by offering 2 rooms for 1 night.
Words fail me.
If you are Coeliac it is just not worth the risk of staying here.

Dear hezzyp123, Thank you for your review, though I note that the original review was from your mother, helenpF3427EI, with whom I was in direct contact. Kyle and I have made several attempts to acknowledge the distress you and your mother experienced, as well as the concerns you rightfully raised. Following my recent conversation with your mother, during which she expressed her appreciation for my personal engagement, we agreed upon a goodwill gesture that you initially requested and accepted. I also confirmed this in writing with your mother. She raised, and we agreed, that there had been clear moments of misunderstanding on both sides, for which I sincerely apologised on behalf of my team and myself, where we fell short of your expectations. However, after accepting this offer, we were surprised to see your request for further room nights and inclusions, which was a deviation from our mutual understanding and discussion. It is clear from this second public review that we are not aligned in our view of a fair resolution. I believe it is important to reiterate that we find it concerning that, despite the seriousness of the situation, you did not engage management during your stay or upon departure to address the matter in person. Had we been made aware at the time, we would have been able to discuss the situation directly, offering immediate assistance and the opportunity for a more personalised conversation. In light of this, we have decided to offer a full refund for your accommodation, as I believe it is in the best interest of both parties, and my team, to bring this matter to a close. We will not engage further hereafter, nor will we be extending the original offer (which you have declined via email) of a voucher for a future stay, as it has become evident that, sadly, we are not the right fit for your needs. This is hard for us to accept as a team but is necessary. I trust this matter is resolved, and we will take the necessary action on our side to ensure the refund is processed with your mother immediately. Erinvale are 100% equipped for allergies!!
Many gluten free options available, all hospitality staff are aware and knowledgeable of allergies. I always felt special and looked after (this is rare with an allergy as often you can feel like a burden).
I just want to thank all the staff at Erinvale for making my stay so comfortable.
Chef Stefan chatted with me upon arrival and discussed food options throughout my stay and made me feel reassured. Anyone that has any food intolerances/ allergies should consider this hotel if visiting the areas
One last thing… I even received a gluten free biscuit delivery at night with a note ‘night night’.

Beautiful First Class Hotel with excellent rooms Facilities and service. Situated in a stunning region. The whole experience was amazing. We stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon in one of the luxury suits and it was amazing. I also visited the spa while there and had a fantastic massage. All meals were exceptional and after our dinner one of the evenings we came back to a surprise bottle of champagne and desert in our room. Would absolutely love to stay here in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Erinvale Hotel. Our room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. There were nice additions in the room like fresh milk in the fridge, delicious rusks and roasted nuts to snack on. The breakfasts were wonderful and we particularly want to mention 2 members of staff, Letizia and Pretty, who were excellent.
We enjoyed relaxing in the pleasant pool area too. We had dinner at the outdoor restaurant with friends one evening, which we enjoyed, but the portions were very small.

DO NOT STAY HERE - If you are coeliac
Please note I have written 9 reviews over the past decade, all wonderful reviews praising staff and facilities this is my first negative review and it gives me no joy but is a serious matter.
I booked 2 rooms for my husband and I and also our daughter and granddaughter for 2 nights for Christmas.
I emailed the hotel to explain that our daughter and I are Coeliac, they emailed back saying they would let the various departments know.
Upon arrival we had lunch, we ordered and explained, as we always do, we are coeliac, so no gluten.
At dinner I ordered the exact same meal and was told they left off the sauce as it contained gluten. I explained that I had the same meal at lunchtime and they had given us the sauce at lunchtime. Naturally I was most upset.
When 2 people tell you they are Coeliac and order gluten free meals why would you put gluten on their meals?
Sure enough, the following day (Christmas Day) our daughter and I were ill, we had to go out to buy medication, it will take months for our bodies to fully recover.
Our daughter is 7 months pregnant, Erinvale could have harmed our unborn grandchild.
This hotel poisoned us and ruined our Christmas.
They clearly do not take food intolerances seriously.
The cookies they left on the pillows at turn down were gluten free the 1st night but not the 2nd night.
This hotel added insult to injury by offering us 1 room for 1 night on the house.
Oh my goodness, words fail me. I even called the hotel to check as I thought I had misunderstood the Manager’s email.
Avoid at all costs if you are Coeliac, they do not care about your health.

Sure enough, the following day (Christmas Day) our daughter and I were ill, we had to go out to buy medication, it will take months for our bodies to fully recover.
Our daughter is 7 months pregnant, Erinvale could have harmed our unborn grandchild.
This hotel poisoned us and ruined our Christmas.
They clearly do not take food intolerances seriously.
The cookies they left on the pillows at turn down were gluten free the 1st night but not the 2nd night.
This hotel added insult to injury by offering us 1 room for 1 night on the house.
Oh my goodness, words fail me. I even called the hotel to check as I thought I had misunderstood the Manager’s email.
Avoid at all costs if you are Coeliac, they do not care about your health.

As a team, we take all guest feedback seriously, and I have personally reviewed the concerns you raised. While I was away at the time, our Hospitality Manager kept me informed due to the gravity and sensitivity of the matter you shared after your departure. Having investigated the situation with my team, I am confident that there was never any intent to compromise your or your daughter's well-being, as guest care is always our highest priority. Our team made every effort to accommodate your dietary requirements, and we regret any miscommunication or service shortfall that may have occurred. A goodwill gesture was extended and initially accepted via email. However, when the request later changed to include additional guests, this led to a misunderstanding and a breakdown in communication on both sides. I have since attempted to reach you personally on multiple occasions to address your disappointment, though unfortunately without success. I remain open to this conversation at a time that is convenient for you. I sincerely wish to find resolve, as this experience does not reflect the 'experience' we strive for as a team. An amazing venue to host workshops and conferences. The service was exceptional and left nothing to be desired.
We had a few evenings at the restaurant - a place of tranquility and luxury. I feel flattered when walking in here and all the staff made me feel welcome.

This was my first visit to Erinvale and I had a wow experience from the minute I arrived.
Friendly staff all around with superb service. The food was of very good quality and rooms are well kept with attention to detail. Overall a very relaxing atmosphere and weekend not to forget. We will definitely be back soon.
