We had a really nice experience at the Country Guest House. Rooms were very clean and service was friendly and professional. We especially loved the sunset view over the vines. The Location of the guest house was also perfect - close to the beach and shopping as well as close to some world class wineries. There is also a great restaurant on site where you can order food and take it to your room !

Although we only stayed for one night, we really enjoyed it.
Our room was neat and clean and the bed was very comfy. However some maintenance to the room/premises is going to be needed in the near future.
The 96 Winery Road Restaurant serves delicious meals and is highly recommended. Even if you don't stay over, do support this restaurant in these trying times.
We have also noticed that this property has a huge potential for a wedding venue with its many accommodation units.
I will visit The Country Guest House again!

Amazing place, very relaxing and good breakfast. Great place for people with kids as well. You can bring your bike and use the bike trail or just take a work between the wine farm. Location is great for wine tastings would recommend Ken Forester Wine Estate.

While the location is breathtaking and the rooms are magnificent, the unavailability of reception staff before 8am means we cannot stay here again.

We flew in from Europe and Joburg for a wedding at Haskells wine estate and needed to catch early panes on Monday morning. We could not get breakfast before 8am. Nor were management prepared to offset the cost of a lunch on Saturday against the price we had already paid for the breakfast. No-one was available at reception or answered the reception phone from 22h00 on Sunday until we left at 07h45 on Monday.

We and another couple booked two cottages next to each other for 2 nights. Spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet in a lovely country/farm setting.
Great location for accessing all that Stellenbosch has to offer and beyond.
It was very convenient having 96 Winery Road Restaurant on site and the food and service there were excellent.
If we were to stay longer, I would like a self-catering option in the cottages with a braai facility as eating out all the time gets expensive.
We noticed an old bird hide/hut on the property - it would be nice if this was renovated and made accessible to guests?

I was greeted by most friendly staff at reception who helped me get settled in my cottage which was nestled in the peaceful greenery. The accommodation is spacious and has a wonderful fireplace in the lounge. The bedroom and bathroom has all amenities needed and not forgetting a bar fridge in the lounge with complimentary wine. The breakfast served in the restaurant was so delicious! I’m Definitely coming back for a longer stay.

I had a lovely time at the Country Guest House. The hospitality was great with attention to detail. It was very cold in Stellies at the time and they would ensure that my room is heated before I arrive every time. I also enjoyed the complimentary bottle of rose.

We have eaten at 96 Winery Road many times and it is one of our favourite destination restaurants - in the World. First time we've combined with a night stop and it worked excellently. So good we stayed around the grounds after checking out and ate again in the restaurant before moving on. Rooms were large with very comfortable beds. The grounds around offer views to Table Mountain and the opportunity to roam and stretch your legs and walk off some of the meal. The comments about the rooms needing a refresh are fair but the bed was particularly good. Breakfast could be improved too. Needs a smarten up.

Excellent location, within easy reach of the wine farms in Stellenbosch. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Lovely grounds and excellent patio to watch the sunsets. We didn't use the pool as the weather wasn't great, but it looked nice, clean and well maintained. The rooms have very comfortable beds, mini fridge, tea/coffee, decent size wine glasses and a complimentary bottle of wine and bottled water. There is a TV, but we didn't turn it on. Good Wi-Fi and a stunning breakfast each morning. They have a nice restaurant on site, but we only had breakfast there. We were in Room 1. The bathroom is in need of some renovation and a little more TLC would go a long way in making the accommodation outstanding. Little things like the plug missing from the basin, dirt trapped in the grouting and around the shower screen. A dangerous hole where the drainage trap is, missing shelves, etc. Our friends in Room 2 and 3 also had bathrooms that need renovations and TLC. In Room 2, the curtains had not been put back in place properly and she had to re-hook them in order for them to close. The locks on the patio doors are a bit flimsy and hard to open. The garden needs a little bit of weeding, but other than that, we really enjoyed our 3 night stay.

The rooms were beautiful with a separate lounge area with a fire place. Each room also has a patio area. The fact that they have a generator during load shedding was definitely a plus factor as this is the reality of SA now. Getting a complimentary bottle of wine was the cherry on the top. All the staff at the guest house and at 96 winery road where breakfast was served were all so friendly with big smiles. Will definitely stay here again
