Villa Vista was perfect for our family of 4. The apartment is very spacious & well equipped with everything we needed for a 2 week stay. Somerset West is a great base location for going into Cape Town & visiting the local wine estates and there was parking for our hire car. The hosts Elise & Jake were friendly & helpful too. We would definitely return!

We stayed for 17 days in March 2020 in apartment 1 and we liked the large rooms and in the garden we enjoyed the view and the swimmingpool.
Helderberg is a nice place close to good shops and a large shoppingmall.
As golfers we played on 6 golfscourses within 45 minutes drive.
We thank Elise and Jake for the hospitality.

Elise welcomed me with a lovey cocktail and made me feel comfortable right from the start. What a divine view and easy location to Somerset West. The pool is invitingly right outside my room. Everything in the room was pristinely clean and attractively decorated. Elise also invited me for a glass of wine and checked on me in the evening as I travelled alone.

We have just returned from 18 glorious days in South Africa. We were so lucky to find the fabulous Villa Vista. It certainly lives up to its name with stunning views over the Indian Ocean with the Helderberg Mountains in the background. The accommodation was excellent with a huge bedroom, ideal kitchen, dining area and large lounge. There was a truely magnificent braii area and large pool which one could actually swim in. The service was splendid with drinks to welcome us on our arrival. Would I recommend it? Most certainly. An ideal location and am looking forward to returning next year.

We have just returned from our third visit to South Africa and this is the second time we have stayed at Villa Vista. We cannot recommend it highly enough - it just ticks all the boxes. Our hosts Jake and Elise are so welcoming and helpful; they make you feel more like friends than guests, with little touches such as drinks on arrival and fresh flowers on the table. There are two apartments, one of which is a studio apartment but we always stay in the larger one which has the most floor area of anywhere we have ever stayed. The apartment is furnished to a high standard but still retains that "homely" feeling. The kitchen has just been refurbished to a very high standard and extras such as satellite TV, washing machine, bath plus shower and comfortable sofas make it a real home from home. We look forward to opening our patio door in the morning and having breakfast next to the large pool or having a braai in the evening in the lapa next to the pool. The location is excellent as there are many golf courses nearby as well as shopping malls and some excellent restaurants. The view from the garden over False Bay is stunning. Cape Town is only a 45 min drive away and the airport is only 20mins. We have rebooked for next year and can't wait to go back as it feels like "coming home" from the moment we open the door. And we can't forget Jess the dog who is always waiting for us when we get back and the hope of a tasty titbit if she is lucky! A very agreeable place to stay. The apartment No. 1 is very spacious and well equiped with a new kitchen. Villa Vista has lovely surroundings, the garden, the mointains, the sea and all the famous Wine Estates, worth to visit.
Elise and Jack were very kind and helpful hosts not to forget Jessy, the dog, who came every day to say hello.

Villa Vista was ideal for our needs. The setting is absolutely beautiful with stunning views down to Gordon's Bay and beyond. The sunsets just had to be seen and photographed. We were looking for a mini escape for a week using Somerset West as our base. We were made so very welcome and the Niehaus' provided us with more than enough information and helpful advice to give us some excellent days out. It was perfect to come back in the evening to the swimming pool, warm and sparkling clean., the well-equipped braai area, not to mention some local wine! Altogether we would return sooner than later.

My wife and I have stayed at Villa Vista four times now and we expect to stay there again this October. The larger of the two units is huge for two people and has everything you will need. Full kitchen, washing machine, comfortable beds and furniture but most of the time you will be sitting on the patio with a cold drink relaxing and looking out over the swimming pool, beautiful gardens and views over Somerset West. The smaller of the two units has a small kitchen and bathroom with easy chairs in the lounge /bedroom but who needs more when most of your time will be spent outside on the patio.
Your hosts are Elise and Jake who I can't fault. If there is anything you want to know or help needed, ask. They will take pleasure in helping you. If you don't need them, apart from a visit to ask if there is anything they can do you won't be troubled.
The location of Villa Vista is great, it,s far enough off the main drag to be quiet but not too far to make shopping or a restaurant visit a trek. Within 10 minutes you can be at a Vine Yard or two, try Vergegelen, or Stellenbosch is 40 minutes away.
Local dining is excellent with Henris 5 minutes from Villa Vista. This is our favourite restaurant in S. Africa and I can't rate it high enough for value, food, staff and an overall aura of nothing is too good for our customer.
My only fear is I may have painted too rosy a picture and next time we wish to stay there we may not get in. To use an Americanism. Enjoy !
