We spent three nights at Lake Pleasant
The ablutions are absolutely spotless.
Well shaded and grassed sites. Free Wi-Fi and laundry.
However, there are a few negatives. There are no lights at night in the campsite.
There was dog poo that we had to navigate around when we had to go to the ablutions.
There are no sanitisers or liquid hand soap in the bathroom, although it is a COVID requirement.
There are permanent campers, which is fine, however, my suggestion would be that they are allocated sites that are grouped together.
There is a NO DOGS ALLOWED sign when you enter the ablutions , but every time I used the facility, there was a lady with her dog in the ablutions.
Take plenty of mosquito repellant, you will need it!

Thank you. We are busy planning "night" solar lights along the roads, which we hope will be successful. We placed foot pedal hand-sanitizers outside all resort buildings in November and have hand soap at all hand-basins. Will keep an eye out for the dogs in the ablutions, that will be stopped! Best regards

We are a couple travelling with our dog, and stayed at Lake Pleasant Resort this past March for 4 days. We had stayed here previously in the Log Cabins and had a fantastic experience. Our second visit was staying in the Garden Cottages, which in all honesty was not nearly as nice as the Timber Chalets. It was fairly crowded when we were there and campers and caravans were set up very close to our garden cottage. There was just not enough private space at all. The highlights for us was the free canoeing on the beautiful lake each morning, as well as a lovely little pub and restaurant on site. We love this resort, but would definitely not stay in the garden cottages again. (we had no choice here because of our dog - dogs are not allowed in the timber chalets). This resort is close to many good restaurants, beaches and shops in the Sedgefield area and is a really nice location to be based when exploring the area.

We stayed in the fully equipped garden lodge fully serviced for 3 weeks. Had a wonderful time on the garden route. Plenty to do and see, not enough time. Lake Pleasant is beautiful, quiet and restful. Swimming in the lake or pool. Squash? Tennis, canoeing all on site. Free laundromat, free wifi. Bistro on site. Johan very helpful cooks delicious meals.

We had such an amazing time at Lake Pleasant!
There is just so much to do.
From squash courts, to trampolines, to swimming pools, to rowing boats.
They have it all.
The restaurant on site is also fantastic!
We all had an amazing weekend with so many activities to keep everyone of all ages busy.
Highly recommend.

What a pleasant stay we had here. This was our first ever caravan camp trip.
So of the comments were not very flattering but we found the management to be quite pleasant and always hands on.
We will certainly be returning for another stay.
A very well ran site.
Thanks Stuart ,for all the support you gave us newbies.

Awesome awesome awesome
Would go back any day
We were rather nervous as reviews were mixed
After numerous email exchanges we are so glad we committed
Stayed in the chalet’s - fantastically equipped
Only areas room for improvement - something can be done a bit the mosquitoes in the chalet’s
Someone complained about kids in our allocated private pool - lady it’s a holiday resort - get over it or move out and look for some other job

You have a gem in the garden route - will be back and will recommend for sure

Just spent a week camping at the Resort.
Fabulous & friendly reception by owners Lan & Stuart.
Resort well maintained, ablusions very clean. Good 16 amp power at each site. Lawn & plenty shade.
Lagoon & nearby beach lovely as well as the crystal clear pool in the resort.
Best of all, they are pet friendly.
Excellent security - boom access & with patrolling guard at night.
Will defenitely be back again soon.

We enjoyed camping at Lake Pleasant. The stands are wonderful - level ,grassed, large and surrounded by beautiful trees which leads to amazing bird life.
Although the ablutions ( in a Spanish style building) are dated they are spotlessly clean- cleaned several times a day.
The laundry/scullery is a bit rustic - but the washing machines ( coin operated ) work and there is hot water in the sinks and lines in the sun.
The locality is great we were able to enjoy drives to the beaches and forests from here.
The property is unfenced beach/vlei access. There is a boom gate and night guard patrolling, we felt safe but there was a robbery of kids bikes and a gas bottle. (First incident in 7 years I believe)

Having spent many holidays in my childhood camping here, an equally enjoyable chalet experience was expected - and it delivered indeed!
We were travelling with 4 adults in one of the Timber Chalet Cottages. These are roomy & cosy log cabins, with modern fittings (including en-suite bathroom).
Our cabin (Sunbird) had 3 bedrooms (2 with twin beds & 1 with double) & so each person could sleep comfortably. As it is a self-catering unit, everything is provided (but bring your own dishwashing liquid & beach towels). Satellite TV is available & the braai (barbeque) area is on a lovely outside decked patio.

The surroundings are lush & private & the resort has everything you could want - swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis, squash (need to pay for this), gym, trampoline, etc. You can also rent a boat for the dam or go in & swim at your leisure. The beautiful beach is a 3km walk (although it is quite a climb) & the resort is perfectly located between George & Knysna.
The chalet was serviced everyday & housekeeping was efficient & friendly. The chalet has access to a private swimming pool, although the resort also has another bigger one.
There is a restaurant with yummy food & friendly service & also a convenience shop.

The staff are beyond friendly & will go out of their way to please their guests - it kind of feels like you are treated like an old friend & not merely as a paying guest. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an extremely value-for-money holiday on the Garden Route - especially families, as there is loads to do to keep everyone busy. A must-visit!
