Travellers' Choice
Afrovibe is located in Sedgefield, one of the most sublime coastal destinations in South Africa. It is one of many small towns which punctuate the celebrated Garden Route coastline, but it stands apart because of both its awesome, friendly vibe and wealth of surrounding natural assets. Afrovibe Beach Lodge provides the perfect base from which to explore the myriad of attractions in the region. Sedgefield is paradise. It boasts a sweeping 14km stretch of sand and sea, age-old forests, fossilized dunes and myriad of lakes. It was declared Africa’s first Cittaslow Town back in 2010, joining more than 100 towns around the world in a pledge to promote a better quality of life, a spirit of community and a profound respect for the environment. But don't be fooled by its 'Slow Town' status, this popular coastal hamlet is a genuine hotspot for travellers looking for the most adrenaline-fuelling adventures possible. Our in-house Adventure Centre offers activities both mild and wild. Spoilt for choice, adventure junkies are able to immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world through a variety of popular outdoor pursuits such as kite surfing, paragliding, surfing, SUP'ing (Stand up Paddle), canoeing, hiking and mountain biking. Afrovibe offers a variety of accommodation options to suit the needs and preferences of a diverse clientèle, including both private rooms, family rooms and dorm rooms, all of which are en-suite. The rooms are clean and comfortable with self-catering facilities at your disposal. Facilities include: an in-house bar and restaurant, adventure booking desk, free WiFi, secure off street parking, Baz Bus Stop and friendly, helpful staff.

Kind and friendly vibe that gives you an amazing feel. The room is spacious, clean and borderline luxurious. The common rooms are comfortable and warm and a short walk to the best ocean beach in South Africa. I would recommend to anyone.

My husband and I had such a great time at Afrovibe Adventure Lodge. The room was huge, the linen and bathroom were clean and the atmosphere was really great. The microwave in the communal kitchen was broken which made meal making a challenge.

The location of the hostel is perfect, it's right next to the beach. The people that work there are very friendly and give you a warm welcome. The room was simple, but good. There are lot's of activities to do in the area. The people who work in the hostel give good advice on what is nice to do and help you book it if neccesary. There is a restaurant right next to the hostel, that serves good food. I had a great time and would deffinately book a room again whenever i'm back in Sedgefield.

I absolutely adored this hostel. I was lucky enough to have an entire 6 bedroom mix dorm to my self for the night which was great but the highlights all come from the staff and the location. Breath taking sunsets from just outside your bedroom door, safe place, restaurant with food and cocktails next door and immediate beach access. This place was awesome! I wish I would have stayed a few more days.

Lovely units with all you need. Tea supplied but no coffee however. Collection of key needs to happen at the backpackers. Make sure to do so on your way to the house to save yourself the trip back. The house is being renovated, thus breakfast was served at the backpackers ‘kitchen’ This could have been a better experience as is was overcrowded and did not feel like a clean space to eat in. Safe and loved the available off street parking.
