Afrovibe is located in Sedgefield, one of the most sublime coastal destinations in South Africa. It is one of many small towns which punctuate the celebrated Garden Route coastline, but it stands apart because of both its awesome, friendly vibe and wealth of surrounding natural assets. Afrovibe Beach Lodge provides the perfect base from which to explore the myriad of attractions in the region. Sedgefield is paradise. It boasts a sweeping 14km stretch of sand and sea, age-old forests, fossilized dunes and myriad of lakes. It was declared Africa’s first Cittaslow Town back in 2010, joining more than 100 towns around the world in a pledge to promote a better quality of life, a spirit of community and a profound respect for the environment. But don't be fooled by its 'Slow Town' status, this popular coastal hamlet is a genuine hotspot for travellers looking for the most adrenaline-fuelling adventures possible. Our in-house Adventure Centre offers activities both mild and wild. Spoilt for choice, adventure junkies are able to immerse themselves in the wonders of the natural world through a variety of popular outdoor pursuits such as kite surfing, paragliding, surfing, SUP'ing (Stand up Paddle), canoeing, hiking and mountain biking. Afrovibe offers a variety of accommodation options to suit the needs and preferences of a diverse clientèle, including both private rooms, family rooms and dorm rooms, all of which are en-suite. The rooms are clean and comfortable with self-catering facilities at your disposal. Facilities include: an in-house bar and restaurant, adventure booking desk, free WiFi, secure off street parking, Baz Bus Stop and friendly, helpful staff.

Great place, would definitely stay again. Right in front of beautiful beach - only a handful of people or the beach when we visited, lots of communal space/seating, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff, excellent food offered onsite for reasonable price and great paddle boarding activity along Sedgefield lagoon offered through lodge (would definitely recommend doing). Only downside is it’s a bit tricky to get to places without a car - but the lodge were very helpful in arranging transport for us. Thanks for a great stay!

Stopped off for one night on a Garden route tour. Lovely backpackers, beautiful room, complete with bunk beds, much to my granddaughter's delight. Lovely relaxing garden with pool and play area. The fire was already going when we arrived, ready for the braai. Plenty of seating around. We chose to go to the beachside restaurant, about 5 minutes away. On a great beach, again fire going, just a stroll over the dunes to watch a stunning sunset. Back at Afrovibe, guests were enjoying drinks from the bar outside our room, but no one was loud and certainly didn't disturb us. Great shower in the room. Not a huge choice for breakfast, but everything was fresh, including some wonderful little homemade muffins. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Afrovibe is more than what we expected. The host Lyle is an absolute legend and all the staff are super friendly. With just a stones throw away from the beach you can hear the ocean waves at night. The location is excellent, rooms are clean, and there is vibing restaurant with outdoor beach bonfire down the road. The neighborhood is as safe as it gets and you can easily walk around. All activities and excursions can be booked right from the lodge. 100% value for money and we would stay here again.
