The staff and managers at pine lake Marina was very professional, helpful and surely very friendly and they did their utmost to put as at ease during covid lockdown regulations and they were very accommodating with all our requests.

There are many activities on the resort specially for families but surely for individuals as well

Our accommodation was clean on arrival and although the resort was not able to clean up during our stay because of covid regulations, they did their utmost to accommodate where posable.

I will recommend Pine Lake Marina for Business and family trips because of the family and corporate friendly environment and hospitality they offer.

Me and my husband got married 5th December 2020, next door to Pine lake Marina and Pine lake Marina hosted our wedding party and also accommodated our guest.
Fiona Cuerden and her team prepared an exceptional wedding party , providing a 5 start buffet for our guest starting off with a Harvest table to dream of, bubbly and sweet treats, followed by a menu I've put together which they followed to the last detail, ending with mouth watering dessert. From the start of planning our wedding day January 2020 right through COVID and lock down, moving our wedding date a few times, Pine Lake Marina really went the extra mile , creating our dream wedding , accommodating us with a lot of changes through the year. They were extremely helpful, advising, always friendly and eager to help. I found a new family getting to know them. They really bend over backwards and went beyond what was expected. They prepared a honeymoon room for me and my husband, with a HUGE goodies hamper, bubbly, treats, Mugs and MANY more, we were really really surprised . Thank you so much for the huge role you've played, welcoming us with open arms leaving your footprints in our hearts.

An RCI resort in an excellent location. The apartments are comfortable and serviced well daily. The main bedroom and second bedroom should have been reversed, as the main bedroom was on the darker shady side of the building. Bathroom very very small and no toiletry rack in the shower.
The little shop was very basic but fortunately one can walk next door to the next resort where there is a well equipped shop for basics like fresh bread and eggs, etc.
The vervet monkeys are a pest and are restrictive, in that one cannot relax with doors and windows open.
But pretty environment and a lovely lake!

Overall a good location for a family holiday. the pools are the main attraction being the pool and the water sports. the rooms are self catering and has all the basics you need.

Make sure you you get a room which is the ideal size for your family, below are are some other considerations.

1) I did not think the resort was very child friend (7 years and younger). there are outdoor activities and a pool for small kids and water sports but other than that the pool is the big attraction
there is an indoor kids play area but this is more suited for older kids
2) The unit we were in had a fixed shower with a window on the bath tub which made it difficult if you had small kids to bath
3) The hot pool became full at times and the kids complained about the salt/ chemical levels at some point. other than that, its the place to be when things got chilly
4) Cleaning of units needs to be scheduled and there is a charge for it
5) For some reason, Hauwei phones does not connect to the wi-fi, and often need to re-join regularly. the signal is often lost depending where you are in the resort
6) I think that the resort would do really well if they had a kids club

Resort is ideally located if you wanted to go explore other areas e.g. George or Oudtshoorn or go the other way to Port Elizabeth etc.

there is sufficient place to braai (although when it rains it becomes a challenge) and there is a shop on site.

There are water sport activities on the lake which are free (paddle boat etc) and some which are available for a nominal cost e.g. motor boat. If you going with kids, get ready to spend most of your time in the pool with them! Kids loved their time and already wondering when we are returning.

I am bit disappointed in the way the resort was handled during a festive season, I understand that staff has a time to start and end but you need to factor that in when you have visitors at resort. Your indoor pool was so full so when I did decide the next day to arrive early at 8am I first had to wait for staff to arrive and then they had to clean the pool, fill the pool so by 8h30 pool was only ready. Planning is everything so why state pool opens 8 if staff only arrives that time to do their duties :(

Another gripe "DSTV" now I know we on holiday but in the evenings we wanted to catch up on some sport ect and wine down but what a let down when we explored your useless channels available. For the amount of money spent why would you offer that bull ????

We've been to the establishment twice before but it seems like quality just sort of went down a bit. The chalet we stayed in wasn't as nice as what we remembered from previous visits. Also some bug issues upon arrival. Just a mention as well. Try to avoid weekend stays if you want peace and quiet especially after driving for 5 hours to get there. Weekends are filled and the clientele were very noisy. Forget about enjoying the heated pools or even the restaurant for a peaceful meal. Not going to happen!
Beds were terrible. Aircons would have been nice as keeping the windows open at night is a bad idea with monkeys and mosquitos.
The management was concerned about trying to keep us happy but we just couldn't find ourselves staying. Cut our week short and forfeited 2 nights.

Stayed in 1 bedroom + sofa bed. A very typical resort style place with a backpacker feel. Room was a bit damp, and not very well planned. The "village" is very densley populated with buildings dotted out very close to each other. Not at all busy, but yet we were put right by the entrance where all traffic comes in and out, and staff quarters around the corner. But close to shop and indoor activities.

Staff organised us a coffee machine as it didn't even have a plunger. That's the third star! Would not give this higher, room standard is simply too low. A few other things were missing and not listed. A price list with what's in the room feels extremely tacky, and the warnings and all the "don'ts" gave it an not so welcoming feel. Staff however were great and bowling was fun. We spent 2 nights here as friends were traveling here. Great list of activities, on the water and indoors. But shame it closed at 4.30 already.

Also first and only place (out of 5) that didn't organise towels, because of Covid. But bedding was apparently okay. So, bring own towels!

It was our first visit at Pinelake and we had a marvelous time. From checking in to check out we were assisted very professionally. The restaurants prices were very good. We were actually surprised at how well priced a lot of things were. The units were very clean and you literally just need to take food and clothes. The pedal boats were amazing. The hot pool was a hit. If possible I will recommend that one of the cold pools also b converted to a hot pool as it is very popular and can get very crowded especially with social distancing in mind. The kids already ask to go to PLM at least once a year. Amazing place. Perfect for a family holiday.

On the 8th of December 2022, my family and I arrived at the picturesque Pinelake Marina. I have been to many resorts before but man I have got to tell you that the stay I had here…must have been the best one by far. Upon our arrival, the sun was at its zenith and began beating down on us as though we were punching bags freely suspended in a boxing gym. And you know how impatient we humans can become when the heat is getting to us. However, Francois and his superior, Mrs. Geraldine Titus truly made our stay with their exceptional standard of five-star service. All arrangements made from welcoming, to cleaning and checking us into our chalet were done quickly and efficiently with great competence. My family and I have been numerous times to Pinelake Marina but this time definitely topped all our stays. All thanks to Mrs. Geraldine and Mr. Francois, their good work ethic is genuinely something to acknowledge and appreciate. Their smiles were as bright as the sun and their aura as pleasant as buds blossoming on a spring morning. Their spirits were always as high as the azure-blue sky, like a continuum of delight that salves both the heart and soul. They have made our stay very comfortable and relaxing which are the main reasons why anyone goes on vacation. To feel comfortable and relaxed from both the environment you’re in and the people (family & staff on duty) you’re surrounded by. Henceforth, I feel like we, people sometimes forget that at every vacation place, whether it be a resort or hotel that beyond the beautiful scenery, luxury interior design, and stellar buildings, without its staff being cordial and providing excellent services, they would not be able to function holistically well in the eye of the public. Last but not least, I would most certainly recommend anyone to stay at Pinelake Marina as you are taken care of right from the start of your arrival till your departure.

My husband and I had the pleasure of having our wedding at pinelake marina and had the most amazing experience with Fiona and her team.
The accommodation was perfect and we were able to host most of our family at the resort making the weekend even better. There's so much to do and we already planning to go back when we go to the garden route again.
Everyone at the resort was so helpful and I would definitely recommend staying at Pinelake Marina for a cute couple's trip or a family vacation.

Most importantly if anyone reading this review is looking for a wedding venue that has stunning views, delicious food (IMPORTANT) and people with a genuinely caring heart to assist do not hesitate to contact Fiona or Anel.
