Stayed in 6 sleeper no.38. A beautiful view of the lagoon with great sunsets. Renovation being done on reception didn't stop the happy receptionist . Lovely lady. I do feel that a woman's touch would have been necessary when it came to the design of the lodgings though. The basin in the twin bedroom on suite is very narrow with a shelf above it that hinders for space. Situated rather high on the wall. The oven is situated next to the fridge which is not very clever. There is so much cupboard space in the kitchen. Had no idea what to do with it. There is a crockery drying rack situated away from the sink. Just a few things that a woman would have corrected. Everything was modern and comfortable and our cleaning lady Ellen was very helpful with our washing as the laundry facility was not available. We would come again. …

Tranquil space and close to the main street. The staff cleans well. Accommodation is suoerb with a full kitchen and an outaide patio with gas bbq. The beds are super comfy and easy bathroom with great shower. All utensils and kitchen wear in mint condition

The team at Placid Waters was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well ventilated, warm and had all the necessary amenities for a relaxing vacation. There were name activities one could do at the hotel. The area around was safe to walk around.

We have Holiday Club points and booked here for a mid week - what a good decision. The resort is very well run and the staff are super friendly. We were in one of the bigger units right on the front with the lagoon 20 metres away. The bridle is really good for the avid bird watcher and if you are into paddling, you can do that as well. The paddle boats are a bit tired but we managed to get out for half an hour at a time which was good exercise. Just be aware that if you are not a Holiday Club member, the kayaks and paddle boats are an extra cost - R100 gives you an "activity pass" so you can then do all the extra stuff. The resort is recommended and with a Spar Superstore about 200m away, a bargain.

We had a satisfactory stay at Placid Waters. Leachem was a lovely and hospitable host, who made us feel welcomed and cared for. Though, I would encourage the owner to find ways to add warmth to the rooms, and to consider making sure that the grout in the bathrooms and the blinds are properly cleaned.

A timeshare resort and we spent a midweek there which was most enjoyable. Facilities clean, comfortable and well maintained with friendly and helpful staff. Ideal venue as base whilst exploring what this fantastic tourist area has to offer.

Lovely resort in Sedgefield. Swimming pool, games room, miniature golf, kayaking available. Great beaches and restaurants nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are clean and neat. Barbecue available with each room. Lots to do nearby like adventure sports, canopy tours, hiking and mountain biking.

Placid Waters Timeshare resort pleasantly surprised us! The one bedroom unit (16) was comfortably furnished and equipped and offered beautiful views of the lake and the hundreds of birds which call it home. We had a large balcony where we could have meals and use the gas Weber. We were really impressed by the way the resort was managed - everything neat and tidy and a really good pool area considering the small size of the resort. They also offer a much better than usual TV bundle and free WiFi.

I can find no fault with this lovely place overlooking the estuary. The fittings in the units are of a quality not usually found in a time share resort . The staff we have encountered have all been friendly and helpful. A well equipped supermarket and bottle store are within easy walking distance as are several food outlets. We stopped here for a weekend en route from KZN to Cape Town and are very pleased that we did. Sedgefield is known a a slow town, very quiet and peaceful and an ideal place to come and relax and it has lived up to that reputation.
