Located in a residential area, Cedar Lodge was very peaceful and welcoming. We and our friends had rooms upstairs; if you have mobility problems, these rooms would not be for you, the stairs are quite steep. Although there are several dachshund doggies on site, they might come and visit you but they're not intrusive. We had an excellent breakfast, if slightly longer than we'd reckoned on. We didn't realise till we saw the leaflet in our rooms that we could have asked for an evening meal on site. We'd stay at Cedar Lodge again.

We just want to thank Lynne and her staff for the excellent service that was provided.
We stayed in the Kalahari room which was cosy and comfortable and it was lovely to awake to the birds in the morning.
The breakfast was filling and made with love.

having stayed at Cedar Lodge in Robertson on a previous trip, we knew we were returning to a warm welcome. The accommodation is extremely clean, welcoming and comfortable. We wanted to partake in the Breede River boat cruise and Cedar Lodge is situated perfectly for this just 5 minutes drive away. Lynne and Paul were excellent hosts and Paul a mine of local information. Spud the dog was lovely and kept us entertained. We would certainly return for a stay if ever we return to South Africa in the future.

If travelling The Garden Route make the first stop at Robertson, it's an easy drive from Cape Town Airport, even off of a long flight. Paul and Lynne Goddard will make you very welcome and Paul can provide a superb braai to help you relax on the first day of your holiday. The golf at Silwerstrand Golf Club is also recommended.

Our room with its own entrance and little patio area to sit in was very clean and comfortable. The pool was sparkling and it was lovely to relax in the sun in the very peaceful garden listening to the many birds who fly in, including the weaver birds making their nests. We ate in both nights. Very good food especially the braai with at least 4 different kinds of meat, lovely salads and a very tasty potato bake. Lynne and Paul are very good company and excellent hosts.

The place is quite nice, the rooms are nice, but they are very small. We struggled with 2 adults and 2 suitcases in our room.
We organised a wine tour with the hosts which was brilliant. We really enjoyed it. I would recommend staying here simply for that. However, make sure that you check your bill on leaving. As part of the wine tour the host pays for your lunch and then they put it on your bill when you leave which seemed a bit unneccesary. Our costs seemed to be a little bit higher than we remembered. Also, we were offered a lift to and from a restaurant as we were unfit to drive after the wine tour. This was also added to our bill. It wasn't the fact that we were charged, but that we didn't know we would be. It was also the shortest and most expensive taxi ride that we had on the entire trip. It had been a great stay prior to this, but it left an unsavoury taste.

Have subsequently checked the bill, we discovered that there was in fact an error on our part in the charge for the restaurant transfer and a part refund has been passed to the guest. With regard to the wine tour lunch we have also passed a part refund for this, although the guest did offer to pay the whole bill at the time. We would advise guests to check their bill prior to departure in order that any discrepancies can be sorted out there and then and thus alleviate any ill feeling afterwards.

We were 3 girls who stayed 3 nights with Paul and Lynne. We planned 2 nights, but we enjoyed it so much that we ended up with one more night. And we had a great time there. A relaxed atmosphere, great activities( a very nice winetasting with Paul) and excellent food. The rooms are very nice and clean and we will absolutely recommed the place.

We just stayed 1 night at the Cedar Lodge but now I can tell that it was the most remarkable one of our many stays during the 2-weeks-trip thorugh South Africa. Lynne and Paul were just so helpful and friendly!! Even though my English wasn't the best (and my partner even didn't understand a word) they both were very polite and tried to speak as understandable and explaining as they could, i think. It was the first night in South Africa and they couldn't make it better!!! We also had dinner at their place and I still can remember the delicious taste of the great menu (and the wonderful wine of the Robertson area) we had!! Breakfast was great as well and the Apartment was very cosy...Everything was just perfect!!! Lynne and Paul - THANK YOU SO MUCH!

If one likes good wines and visit the region around Robertson, we warmly recommend Lynne and Pauls Cedar Lodge in Robertson.
It is a really very nice and cosy place to stay, with a lot of charme (and two lovely dachshunds).
Lynne and Paul gave us a lot of precious advises (i.e. like where to go best for canoing, which scenic route would better to drive, what kind of equipment is useful, etc.) and helped with the bookings for diverse National-Parks and car rental in a highly professional and most kindly way.
Paul took us to unforgettable wine-tasting-tours - without him we would have been lost in the 44 wineries of the region with a couple of hundred different wines, Ports and Champagnes. Breakfast is excellent and the evenings of BBQ s were marvellous. Paul celebrates his delicious meals with knowledge, passion and taste - we found no better place to eat during our 5 weeks holidays.
If we'll ever again travel in South Africa, for us CL will be a MUST.

Another great guesthouse in Robertson. Lovely pool, comfortable rooms and fantastic breakfast. And then there were all the lovely "sausage-dogs" :-) Nicely located in a quiet area and still close enough to walk to the restaurants.
