What a great place to visit and stay. We have spend 2 nights at mo and rose at Soekershof and enjoyed every minute of our stay. A warm welcome by the super friendly hostess from the front desk followed by a tour though the very impressing garden full with succulents (some were even over 200 years old). And after the visit of the 2 different small and intimate pools we ended this tour with the luxury of our room (luxury garden suite 3). A room built with an eye for detail and had nothing to complain about. Nice colours and materials and all high quality standards. We enjoyed the “open bathroom” experience with the delicious lemon-verbena amenities of earth. The resort was built in harmony with nature and our stay was relaxing complete and easy. Dinner at the adjoining (but under separate management) restaurant Succulent was a nice experience with an interesting menu and winelist. Breakfast (ala carte) also served in this restaurant offerings beautiful viewing the garden. Tranquility, nature, peace and harmony will be experienced while staying here. We have no recommendations for improving your service. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Dear Emilio - thank you so much for your wonderful review - much appreciated! Glad you could spend two nights with us - as Robertson have so much to offer / things to do, that 1 night would just not be enough. As you mentioned our staff is very passionate about their work & enjoy every minute of it. Our maintenance guy, Maart, who has been here for years - also offers a garden tour through our Succulents dating back to 1910. We have two pool areas which our guests can enjoy. I am happy to hear that you also enjoyed dinning at our on-site restaurant. Hope to welcome you back soon. Regards Heidi

This was our third visit to Mo and Rose and on this occasion we stayed in one of the Garden Rooms. We were not disappointed as the room was light and spacious with a double shower and a bath. On both nights we had dinner at their restaurant where the meals are excellent under the leadership of Werner - clearly an inventive and talented chef. We always find the staff here to be helpful, friendly and informative. Being interested in wine we find this to be an excellent location to explore Robertson, Bonnievale and Ashton wineries as well as the picturesque town of Montagu. We visit the Western Cape every year and this place is definitely one of our favourites.

Dear Cockatrill Thank you so much for your wonderful review! As you mentioned - all 8 our rooms are really spacious & light with all the amenities you would need for during your stay. Our on-site restaurant is so popular & can only take up to max 20 guests - so with all this virus spreading going around - it would be a perfect escape for anyone out on our farm. We have award winning wine estates, driving distance from here - as you mentioned a excellent location - and we are central. Thank you for mentioning our staff - we strive to go the extra mile for your guests & love making them feel at home. They arrive as strangers & leave a friends. Looking forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards Heidi

My husband and I went with our 4 year old daughter. I can highly recommend this place. The food is AMAZING, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. The gardens are an amazing experience in themselves. They had no kids playground equipment, but my daughter had a fabulous time, regardless. She made friends with the sweet black and white cat and had great fun exploring the ample and interesting gardens.

The only downfalls were that the water was brown cos of recent storms (this included tap and pool water). Also our lunch took around 3 hours from start to finish cos they had a bunch of staff who didn’t pitch on the 27th, so there was one poor sod servicing the whole kitchen. We weren’t fussed though, as it was a lazy day and we were enjoying the environment.

The only recommendation I have to the establishment is to ask the cleaners to only start cleaning once visitors are checked out. It gave us the sense that they were trying to hurry us out, despite it still being pretty early.

Mo&Rose is not just a lovely place to stay, and from reception to restaurant and room service we met only very friendly staff. With the spacious rooms, a wonderful garden to stroll around and admire so many different desert plants, and the in-house fine dining restaurant with very tempting dishes and - though not so rare in South Africa - a well stocked wine cellar, it is indeed the perfect place to stay near Robertson. "Succulent" is the name of this restaurant, a pun that includes both, delicious dishes and the view of the beautiful garden.
The overall experience makes us want to come back as soon as possible.

Heidi and her team @ Mo & Rose are an absolute delight who welcome you at Mo and Rose. The rooms and atmosphere at the guesthouse are fantastic!

Big spacious rooms, coffee machines to keep you going if working late into the night and working on the go. Wifi is strong in the rooms. We had a big storm when we stayed which interfered with some of the regional signal but Heidi was on it straight away to assist and make a plan.

Breakfast is beautiful and freshly baked goodies were delicious.
The guesthouse is close to Robertson and the gardens surroundings are so peaceful.

Highly recommend!!

We arrived at Mo & Rose just before lunch. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room. A beautiful room which overlooked the wonderful gardens and pool. The garden which is filled with succulents and aloes and many other indigenous plants and is worth a visit just on its own.
We went for lunch at Kranskop Winery where they served a delicious cheese platter. Our tasting was most informative and enjoyable.
We had dinner at the Small Robertson Hotel which was a delight.
Our evening at Mo and Rose was very peaceful and the room so well appointed. Breakfast the next morning was served overlooking their beautiful gardens and the staff exceptional. Visit either to stay or just look at their gardens.

We initially tried to book Frai Uitzig for our stay in Robertson but because they don’t serve meals on Saturday & Sunday(so their website said) we found Mo & Rose, and thank goodness we did.
It is an absolutely beautiful place in a gorgeous cactus garden. The room was spacious, well equipped and had a lovely bathroom. Two pools and a wonderful restaurant. The staff were pleasant and helpful and we are looking to go back next year for 4 nights instead of 2.

It’s places like Mo and Rose that make me feel so proud to be South African. From the warm reception by Heidi, the welcoming drinks, beautiful, modern and clean rooms, the stunning cactus garden to an unforgettable dining experience in the Succulent Restaurant managed by the very talented chef, Morne Snoek, we were very spoilt indeed! The foreign tourists we chatted to were all full of praise of their experiences as well. The Mo and Rose is also close to a selection of wine farms in the area which are worth visiting!
