Dirty inside & out. Light fittings broken or don't work. Ill equipped kitchen. Linen doesn't fit beds. Toilet ran for 5 days. Hundreds of flies. Needs paint job. Over priced. Positives - pet friendly, nice swimming pools and beautiful location.
Fantastic peaceful spot, neat and clean accommodation, had an awesome Xmas in July part with the farm owners who put on a great spread, with wine tasting, Egg nog, prizes and free wine. We will definitely be back soon - 2 year old had a blast also with the animals and the walks.
My family booked this little getaway so I didn't know anything about it. But wow, i was blown away at what a wonderful destination it was. We had booked out the 4 mountain cottages to ourselves. Each has 2 bedrooms, a little lounge, kitchen, clean bathroom and gorgeous deck. They are small and quaint, but certainly were big enough for 9 adults to have dinner inside, sitting around the table! We went in winter and all of us had fires going. There are beautiful walks and i enjoyed the winter sun while swinging in the hammocks. We had 2 babies with us and the 2 year old enjoyed the piggies, horses, sheep, turkeys and chickens. The hosts were quite unbelievable. They had organized a Christmas in July special which was beyond all expectations...a wine tasting, fun wine blending…
We stayed here at the end of our visit to SA in mid-march. We loved this working farm and Tarryn and Tienie were really welcoming. Being the only family staying we had the whole farm to ourselves. Tarryn and Tienie the day before were able to change our accomodation due to our party size increasing. We stayed in The Farm House which was great for a family of 6 with plenty of room for entertaining - which we did as friends came to Braii with us one afternoon from Worcester. When we next visit SA in 2016 we shall be booking again, but probably more accomodation so we can entertain family and friends that we do not see often enough. The trek to the waterfall is well worth it. The water is so invigorating I can't wait to do it again. Next visit needs to be when there is a new…
I just celebrated my 40th birthday here and we rented out all the mountain cottages and the protea and lavender cottage. Tarryn and Tienie were fantastic hosts and played a huge part in making my birthday a very memorable occasion. Tarryn went out of her way to accommodate us and I was blown away by her service and willingness to help organise this weekend for us. I would highly recommend this farm for a group of friends / family wanting to spend a weekend away. We climbed up the mountain to the waterfall which was just beautiful, we had a lamb on the spit which was delicious and we had a photo shoot all around the farm for fun, and it really was a very good laugh ! You will not be disappointed :-)
