We paid our second visit to the Karoo Lodge in Prince Albert in February this year. Our first visit was January 2012 and on that occasion we were most impressed by the large airy rooms.and the comfortable king sized bed. Our room had a large terrace overhung with a grape vine and plenty of sitting room both outside and in. Outside the bathroom was a large walk in wardrobe and dressing area with lots of room for cases. The bathroom was large with corner bath and separate shower. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided together with fridge and hairdryer. There was a good fan or air con if one wanted it. The Lodge has a large garden planted with lots of fruit trees and a very nice pool and sunbathing areas with plenty of loungers. This year on our second visit we had my

WHat a wonderful B&B this was. We were there overnight, and wished we could have stayed on. Lovely spacious rooms, comfortable KINGSIZE beds, tea, coffee, fridge, mosquito nets at the doors, Gorgeous pool, which we fell into on arrival!. We had an excellant dinner there that night and lovely breakfast in the morning. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Prince Alv=bert is a lovely spot and deserves more than 1 night there!

I wanted to stay in Prince Albert for two nights on a recent trip to Cape Town. After some research decided on Karoo Lodge - appeared to offer good value and had a restaurant attach - was very important for me as i was going to arrive on a Sunday evening. Asked via email if it will be open was assured it is always open to guests. On arrival i was informed that it will be closed for the evening but i can go and eat at the hotel which was within walking distance. Rooms was clean with all the amenities expected - bathroom was huge with a shower and a bath. Breakfast was the usual fair - the reataurant was open on my second evening - the food was good value for money. What i appreciated the most was that i wanted to be left alone and they did - from there the heading. They both seem

Elsabe and George are quintessential hosts. they made our one evening stay very special. We had a big room and kids had lovely warm beds. The food was lovely and the breakfast one of the nicest in a while. George is a wizz int eh the kitchen and downplays his hard work.

Couldn't have had a better break - one believes the Karoo is such an out-of-the-way place, well our eyes were opened. Elsabe and George are the perfect hosts and bent over backwards for us. George - the chef - fed us so well. In fact we did not go out at night to dine in the 4 nights we were there, his meals were superb.Accomodation extremely comfortable. The gardens and fruit trees are something to be admired. I am letting all my friends know about Karoo Lodge, even overseas. Vi komme tilbake snart.
