Beautiful tasteful accomodation in a magnificent setting. Chantelle was an excellant hostess, warm and efficient and her lamb is superb. Lovely to be greeted on arrival with olive oil, olives and wine from the farm. We will return and will recommend it far and wide.

Special place with everything you need. We could have spent our whole holiday on the farm. Everyone loved it. Look forward to returning. Nature and solitude. Soul food. Chantelle was great and the kids loved Wendy and Marnu

We had a wonderful stay at the farm and the kids were so entertained with everything on offer. A beautiful house and wonderful stay in the main house. The pool was amazing and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor spaces at the house. Thank you Chantelle and the team for a wonderful expereince.

Had a great stay but too short. Must stay longer to explore more of the farm and surroundings and enjoy the comfort of the beautiful chalet. The packed braai and fireplace at arrival was special. Chantelle is an excellent host and friendly beyond. Thank you for you and your team Chantelle.

We only spent 1 night in the charming Hannes Cottage, Amazing place , peaceful and Tranquil. Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff were all amazing and all our needs were met to perfection. We'll be back.

We stayed at Manor House for a week during the festive season. I'll start with the positives:

- The surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Beautiful mountains and gorgeous trees and shrubbery. The house was constantly surrounded by sheep and cows which made the "farm experience" quite authentic.

- The host was kind and welcomed us as soon as we arrived. She was also very accommodating in arranging some Karoo Lamb for us to prepare for our Christmas lunch.

- The living areas in the house were lovely. There are two separate lounges and plenty of areas to sit outside. You could find a place to sit and read or nap without being disturbed by anyone else in the house.

- Cleaning staff were very kind and wonderful to deal with. We got to know them a bit during our stay and they were really wonderful people.

Negatives:

- The house was filthy. And i mean filthy. Dust and dirt and cobwebs everywhere. Everything felt gross and grimy. It was quite disappointing. Now this may shock you with my previous comment about the cleaning staff. How could I like them so much if the house was so dirty? Well, it's because I understood why the house was dirty. The entire farm (I think there are 5 houses, I'm not sure) are all cleaned by this one lady. Everyday. It's impossible to expect that she could clean an entire house by herself if she is doing 4 more and expected to offer a laundry service on top of that. I mean really. The lady (I don't want to mention her name) got her mom to help her clean but this was still nowhere near enough.

- The washing machine stained my son's white clothing. I think it is the water but I had to soak and hand wash the clothing after they had been in the machine to get them back to their original colour.

- The house had ants everywhere. Huge ants that invaded the kitchen and living areas in their hundreds. You could see that this was a problem that had been there for a while as they had burrowed into the wood in various points of the house. We received a halfhearted apology from the host along with an offer to spray some poison in the house. This lazy compromise may have been helpful apart from the fact that I was travelling with my 10 month old son who was crawling everywhere and putting everything in his mouth. So we just lived with the ants. We asked for a broom and just kept sweeping them away so that my son could play on the floor without being carried off by the invaders.

- The bathrooms were disgusting. Now for a place that sells such luxury, this was incredibly disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against quaint farmhouse decor but these bathrooms were just dated and as such were broken and stained in places. They just felt dirty. In fact they were dirty. They need an upgrade. Badly. My bathroom didn't have curtains so I had to use my sister's. The window to mine faced the main road so I didn't feel comfortable being on display especially at night when the light was on. Anyone walking or driving by would get a full view of whatever you were doing.

- The beds were rock hard and the bedding stained. Nothing irks me more than stained bedding. The same can be said for the towels. Stained and dirty. If you can't keep the bedding and/or towels clean then don't get white ones. I'd rather delude myself than see the filth you expect me to live in.

Overall, very underwhelming. I read the descriptions on the website and was expecting so much more than I received. I would not stay here again. I had a wonderful holiday with my family but suffered through some things that were easily avoidable in my opinion. I don't mind paying for luxury but If you are going to talk yourself up then you need to deliver. At the very least, make it worth my while if you are going to charge me such high prices for it.

Sounds like the other houses are better than the one we stayed in. I cant seem to find some for Manor House (although I haven't spent a lot of time reading the reviews) so maybe stay in one of the others if you are considering going.

Modern eclectic interiors were fun and quirky. The "wet room" style bathroom in Hannes cottage was a bit of a challenge. The kitchen could have been a bit better equipped. There was no ice tray for making ice and no plug in the basin so we used bowls.

One of the best places that we have stayed at, in South Africa. Chantal is a gem and she was so welcoming and passionate about the farm, that her and her husband run. We stayed in Cooks House and could find no fault with anything. Private, beautifully decorated with stunning views. The pool at the back of the house was a welcome bonus. The dam has a beautiful setting and was loved by our two retrievers who accompanied us on their first road trip! This property is highly recommended as it is well run, breathtakingly beautiful and a picturesque 15 minutes drive to the town of Prince Albert. We will certainly return and share our memories with friends!
