Cottages were previousy a barn and donkey shed built in the mid 1800's. These have since been renovated preserving its original character. The cottages are self catering, each with it's own splash pool with luxurious bathroom on suite and all the amenities other than a tv. Brakdakkie is within walking distance of most shops and restaurants. If it is peace and quiet and something very COUNTRY you need, this is the place to rest your weary bones.

We had been to Brakdakkie before (pre-Kids) and loved the feeling of the place, the design details, the spekboom, the well swept yard. But returning now with our kids we saw Brakdakkie at its greatest. It’s still the beautiful refuge we remembered but now it was lit with the wonder in the eyes of our city kids as they met chickens, heard stories of close escapes from the neighborhood genet and roamed free.

We loved the simplistic style of Brakdakkies. It has everything you need for simple self catering and the Karoo decor is beautiful. I'd recommend guests to arrange for wood delivery beforehand, as the fire pit begs to be used. There is a coffe plunger, so bring your filter coffee ;-) We'd love to come back with the kids.

The rustic rooms and old stuff decorating in and around environment creates a tranquil atmosphere. The small splash pool outside each room is very welcome place to spend hours in especially in summer time.

After a long road trip this was the perfect place to unwind before the last push to Cape Town. The accommodation was superb and imaginative , and so peaceful . Lance kindly filled up the splash pool for the kids and that combined with the old car and ducks meant that dad could put his feet up and enjoy a cold beer ! We will be back
