Spent a wonderful 3 nights here. Comfortable, equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Very peaceful environment. Sandra Meyer so knowledgeable on the area. Easy walk around town and up the koppie behind. Try out the apple crumble at Lazy Lizard - very yum, and the yoghurt from Gays dairy is delicious - so smooth and tasty.
We had an overnight stay in hot, humid Prince Albert and Karoo Chat was a charming haven to escape too. Beautifully appointed, with well thought out spaces. I loved it. I could live there. Breakfast yogurt and fruit pots were made up waiting in the fridge along with cereal, risks, fresh milk and even a little decanter of Port. A masterclass in how to do B and B.
Tastefully decorated with high quality bedding, towels etc. Complimentary rusks, yogurt, muesli as well as tea and coffee was a nice extra. Best for couples or families with small children. Lots of lovely restaurants in town - try Karoo Kombuis for traditional cooking
This was our starting and return point for a 6-day cycle tour in and around the Swartberg Mountains. Our flatlet was extremely comfortable and impeccably furnished with every attention to detail. Sandra Meyer went out of our way to accommodate our requests and was friendliness itself. Highly recommended!
With a double and a single extendable bed in separate rooms, a victorian bath and spacious shower, a private patio and undercover parking and so much attention to detail, this self-contained guest cottage is excellent value for money. Situated in a quiet road 2 streets above the main road in the 'upper' end of the town. No cooked breakfast is provided, but the fridge is stocked with local fresh milk and yoghurt and muesli and rusks are provided along with the tea and coffee. Extra touches include sherry and gift chocolates.Highly recommended.
