Detailed Reviews
What a beautiful stay we recently had. The rooms are clean, spacious and tastefully decorated and well thought of. The garden is breath-taking, it honestly feels like you are in the middle of a magical wonderland. Fresh air and the sound of leaves blowing in the wind, with running water just a few feet away. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the 4-legged visitors were most welcome too! Grant and Silvia are lovely people too which made it that much more special. Thank you both!

Location among the trees, river and mountain is so beautiful and relaxing. The room is practical, modern and clean with a well equipped kitchen. The breakfast is served at your room every morning in a picknick basket and was fresh, healthy and more than enough. The owners were very helpful and friendly and I would love to stay here again.

We really enjoyed our short stay at Waterland Lodge. It is nestled away within a mountainous valley on route to Houtbay, hence making it a nice scenic drive. The property itself is beautiful with lush greenery, trees, nice open spaces, gardens, play areas and great facilities. The rooms are very clean with all the needed amenities and appliances along with an outdoor Braai/BBQ pit. Great place for families with kids or even if you on a short business trip and want to get away from the City life. Another nice element of our stay was when we woke up and wanted to head for breakfast when we found a basket filled with our breakfast treats, this allowed us to enjoy our breakfast in the room. Friendly hosts and staff really make this place a fun and relaxing place to stay. really recommended.

We spend 16 nights at Waterland Lodge and everything was just perfect. The rooms are nicely decorated, the bed is super comfortable, Sylvia and Grant make you feel welcome from the very first moment and are always available when you have questions.
The Lodge is close to supermarkets, restaurants, the beach and attractions. We really really enjoyed our stay. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Really fantastic.

I travelled in South Africa from Cape Town to Kruger and this is by the far the best place. It's a piece of Heaven on Earth. Relaxation to the max! The rooms are fully equipped with everything you need to cook if you don't want to eat out all the time. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. The owners are AMAZING. Thank you Grant and Sylvia for making my stay in Cape Town so memorable..

A beautiful, well-positioned cottage, surrounded by trees, vegetable gardens, running water - and the mountain just behind. I always have to search for a place that has a full bathroom, with a shower and a bath. My cottage at Waterland had just that, with fresh towels every day and a newly-made bed which was a lovely touch. I was also able to work online, without fear of disturbing any neighbouring cottage close by and without feeling closed in. This is a unique and nurturing space!

The garden is stunning! We loved the pond and mountain river, the mountains, all the spots where one could sit and enjoy the paradisical atmosphere. Ben the manager was very friendly and helpful. The owners were also very accommodating to our special requests and offered us a marvelous breakfast box after our late arrival. A special thanks to their sons who let us in after our late flight! The family grants you lots of privacy, yet are available via Whatsapp.
The only thing that was less ideal for us were the hard mattresses and lack off black out curtains in cottage nr 1. We are in our fifties and sixties and Dutch., Perhaps South Africans like hard beds.
The location is great too. 26 minutes from the airport. 10 minutes to the botanical gardens and many wine farms.
The cleaning ladies and gardeners keep the place immaculate and are very quiet. Even the dogs were friendly. Thank you to all of you for having made this a memorable stay!

Grant was in contact right from booking our stay. They set up a camp cot, extra blankets, and organised toys for our children. Clean accommodation with all you need for self-catering. Our children loved it - swing, trampoline, dogs, swimming pool, river.

We arrived after a 6 hour hike on table mountain and were welcomed with a warm smile and fresh beers! What a pleasant surprise!
Grant & Silvia love what they do and one can sense this in everything... from offering us salad from the garden, to dropping us to our start of our hike the next day. They are incredibly hospital and kind!
The places is lush, well-maintained and so beautiful.
What a joyful peaceful stay.
We will be back!!!

We had a very nice stay at Waterland Lodge. We had a double room and this was more than adequate. The delivered breakfast in a picnic basket in the mornings, was a treat and had more than enough food for two people. The garden area with pond is also a nice touch. The dogs on the property were all very friendly. a Few squirrels also came to visit. Overall it was money well spent.
