This was a second stay at Hideaway. I was a single traveller who was given all the help and support I needed for a successful holiday. My ‘room with a view’ overlooking the bay was inviting, spotless and spacious. The owners are always on hand, willing to chat, interested in the everyday occurrences of the holiday. Good breakfast as well!

We have just spent three days with Sue and Martin and i can only endorse what all the others have said. The guest rooms are super-large, with a generous bathroom and an even more generous terrace, with wonderful views. all you need for your comfort is there, the doors to the terrace have shutters so you can sleep with open windows, enjoy a good aeration and at the same time not be wakended up by sunshine. you even find a kitchenette. you can make your own coffee- and every morning you will find a fresh jug of milk in your fridge, just in case you don't drink your coffee black. Sue and Martin are very kind, helpful and also entertaining hosts. a wonderful breakfast is served on your terrace - and you can decide whether you want to sit in the shade or in the sun, it is all so

Recently back from another stay with Sue and Martin who continue to offer an exceptionally warm welcome . It really does feel like a home from home. Breakfast on the veranda overlooking the garden is something we’re still missing. For a couple who very rarely go back to the same place twice, this was our 4th visit and we will no doubt return.

We began our honeymoon in South Africa at The Hout Bay Hideaway with a five night stay. It was a wonderful place to kick off our trip. The location is great being on a lovely quiet street but only a short distance from the centre of Hout Bay. Hout Bay itself is really nice and also in a great location for exploring the rest of the Cape Town area. The whole property is beautiful and the room we had at the back overlooking the garden was perfect. The room was extremely clean and comfortable with access straight on to a lovely veranda and then the garden with pool. Breakfast every day was delicious. Sue and Martin are absolutely wonderful hosts and were so welcoming and helpful with loads of good tips for places to eat and visit. Would recommend to anyone and would love to go back

My wife and I spent three nights at the Hout Bay Hideaway where we were given the warmest of welcomes by Sue and Martin, our hosts. Their home is absolutely beautiful and eminently comfortable - our double room was huge with a private kitchenette space and well appointed bathroom. We had a lovely view from the large wrap-around verandah outside our double doors and were greeted with a complimentary bottle of the superb local wine. The breakfast was more than ample and delicious and set us up for the day, but if you've still got space and the appetite, there are plenty of really good restaurants to eat in less than five minutes away. Sue and Martin gave us loads of great tips about things to visit and routes to get there (very easy access to Cape of Good Hope and Boulders

Sue and Martin are special hosts in this piece of paradise. My husband and I always feel like the Hideaway is our home away from home when we visit the Cape Town area. Everything is lovely, convenient and comfortable, and we never want to leave. Breakfast is wonderful, too!

This beautiful B&B, owned by British couple Sue & Martin, makes a wonderfully peaceful home from home. You can spend your days relaxing by the tropical garden pool, or head out to discover markets, shops, restaurants and sprawling beaches. You can even take a soak in the alfresco bathtub, if you like, where you can star-gaze with a glass of rosé! This place has it all - a beautiful garden, delicious breakfasts and a relaxed, kick-your-shoes-off feel, that could only come from staying in a home rather than a hotel. We felt ourselves unwind as soon as we arrived. The Hideaway is the kind of place where you could happily spend lazy days doing very little, but it’s also an excellent base for exploring Cape Town and the vicinity - and that’s exactly what we did most days, fresh

We last stayed at the Hideaway when we visited Cape Town in 2016 and our return trip did not disappoint! The hotel is as beautiful and tranquil as we remembered, and we enjoyed having the opportunity to experience more of the local eateries and beaches in Hout Bay itself this time around. We loved the decor and the rooms are so spacious - not to mention hosts Sue and Martin who we could not speak highly enough of. Truly a little piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of the city - already looking forward to our third stay!

We stayed her for the first time, accompanied by my daughter and son-in-law who had stayed previously. What a comfortable, stylish and welcoming place. Martin and Sue (our hosts) could not have been more accommodating and their attentive yet discrete service was second to none. The rooms are all lovely, so one couldn’t be disappointed whichever was allocated. We will definitely be back for more of the same. Thanks Martin and Sue, so much.
